the Platypus is semi-aquatic, inhabiting small
streams and rivers over a big range from the
cold highlands of Tasmania and the Australian
Alps to the tropical rainforest of coastal
Queensland and as far north as the bas of the
Cape York Peninsula.

The platypus has a body and a flat tail that are covered
in brown fur that traps in a layer of air to help keep the
platypus warm.
Its tail is use for storage of fat.
It has webbed feet and a large, rubber snout. In the
snout there are sensors (electroeception) that it uses to
find its food. the webbed feet are for swimming.
