Since the Roman Empire, Italy has
been one of greatest countries in
Europe.
It’s the country with the largest
number of architectonic, cultural and
historical wealth.
Its territory, trough it’s not as vast as
other countries, is very varied: in fact
there are mountains (The Alps in the
North, the Apennins in the Centre
and in the Southern), vast hills and
some planes.
Thousands of kilometres of coasts
increase the landscape’s variety of
our peninsula.
3. FLAG
The Italian flag il green, white and red, with three
vertical pipings of equal dimensions.
4. FLAG’S HISTORY
The Italian flag was born in 14 november 1794 when two
students from Bologna wore it , as a rosette, during a rebellion.
In 1848 the Kingdowm of Sardinia adopted it.
In 1861 it became a symbol of the Kingdowm of Italy.
Since 1948 it is the flag of the Italian Republic.
11. Monte Bianco
The Mont Blanc is a mountain situated in the Nord-West of
Alps.
It’s the highest mountain in Europe: its height is 4 810 m.
Its granite nature, brishling of needles and ridges, is carved
by deep valleys where many glaciers run.

• Rome is The capital of Italy.
• It was founded in 753 B.C.
• It has got many works of art.
• In Rome there is the Holy See too.
15. FONTANA DI TREVI
The fountain of Trevi is the largest and one of the most famous
fountains of Rome.
It was designed bay Nicola Salvi and belong to the late Baroque.
The fountain is fed the oldes still-funtioning Roman aqueduct
ever since the time of Augustus.
16. PIAZZA DI SPAGNA
Square of Spain, with the staircase of “Trinità dei Monti” is
one of the most famous squares in Rome.
17. VATICAN
It’s the official residence of the Pope.
St. Peter Basilica was built by Michelangelo.
The colonnade was built by Bernini.
19. Maratea
Maratea is a town of Greek origin and is situated in the
enchanthing coast of Tyrrhenian Sea.
It’s called the pearl of Tyrrhenian.
Its coast is variegated: rocks and shales, creek and caves, large
or small beaches where pines, olives, oaks, carobs and olm-
oaks grow.
23. OUR SCHOOL
THIS IS OUR SCHOOL THAT BRING THE NAME OF “VALTER LIMONGI”. IT IS SITUATED
IN A ZONE OF MOUNTAIN OF OUR COUNTRY. AROUND THERE ARE GREEN FIELDS
AND A LOT CALM. IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL THERE IS THE CHURCH ENTITLED TO
THE MADONNA OF THE CARMINE.
28. Pollino: Pino loricato
The pine “loricato” (Pinus leucodermis) is a tree introduced
from the Balkans.
This tree adapts itself to utmost environment counts.
Its name derives from splinter’s bark as if it wore cuirass.
31. Venezia
Venice is considered one of the beautiful cities in the world
and it is included among the humanity’s heritages safeguarded
by UNESCO.
Its historical centre extends on an archipelago of 117 islands
situated in centre of Lagoon and joined by 455 bridges.
32. Lago di Garda
The Lake “Garda” is situated in the North of Italy.
It’s the largest lake in Italy and it’s a tourist destination.
33. Greetings from Florence
Florence is the capital city of
the Italian region of Tuscany.
The city is considered the
birthplace of the
Renaissance, it also contains
numerous museums and art
galleries, such as the Uffizi
Gallery and the Pitti Palace.
Florence was also the
hometown of Dante
Alighieri, the author of the
famous Divine Comedy.
