Zedong's wife Jiang Qing established the Gang of Four but was later arrested for plotting against the state.

People were forced to lie about how much goods they could produce or they’d be beaten. This resulted in a famine all over China. Zedong’s Cultural Revolution was the first power struggle between members of the Chinese Communist Party and the first struggle to eliminate enemies such as “rightists,” “intellectuals,” and “capital-roaders.”
