1. Unit 13: Understanding the computer Games Industry
Developers;
The creators and developers of game titles, they can usually range
from 100 to under 5 people, they can be individual workers or can be
working under a publisher.
Projects are either commissioned by a publisher or initiated by a
developer and then pitched to a publisher for funding and take-up.
Publishers;
Responsible for publishing, marketing, promoting and usually
financing.

2. Console Manufacturers/First Party Publishers;
The companies that produce the hardware like consoles such as
Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo.
They are responsible for the games being put onto shelves; they have
high power over what becomes a released game.

3. Mobile Platforms and Social Networking;
They are highly used methods of spreading adverts to show off the
game before it comes out, with the ever growing number of people
using social networks now, it has become an increasingly popular
method of showing off games.
Press and Media;
Similar to mobile and social media, using television and newspapers
in order to make people want to purchase the games.

4. Distribution and Retail;
Distributers sell to the retailers by delivering games in bulk to them.
Retailers are the stores with the games on the shelves, where the
public can go to find their games.
