1. Overview
This article describes two ways of learning visual arts programs outside the school which is the
process of teaching and learning at the Art Museum. Teaching and learning process of producing
the first work of art in the museum environment and informal way. Second, the students brought
to the museum for art activities Appreciation and interpretation. Both of these activities is to
evaluate the effectiveness and learning outside the school as it can improve student discipline
and acquaint students with the learning environment at the Art Museum.
The article also states that informal learning in art education is actually very necessary to help
students better understand and give them the opportunity to experience learning outside of
school.
Moreover, learning outside of school can also increase student interest in the subject and easy
understanding of the subject directly and clearly.
According to the author, the main focus in teaching and learning activities outside of school is to
expand opportunities and student interest. as well as increase the interest of students, it also

2. 2. A Description of the Methodology
The study was conducted in Art Musem. According to the researchers, they chose two important
aspects of the art curriculum formal.dua seen things that were:
a) One study examined a museum exhibit and focus on art making processes.
b) Analyzed an exhibit that promotes aesthetic and art historical responses to art.
It also has its own questions for the study of disciplinary content “What does disciplinary content
learning look like in an informal museum context?”
This research has conducted by University of Pittsburgh Center for Learning in out of School
Environments (UPCLOSE).
The study by researchers, they are interested in knowing how the practice and discipline can be
formulated in the learning experience not formal. Otherwise, the study is conducted to indentify
core disciplinary practice and to examine how these practice connect to the core mission of the
organization. Next, they hope to illuminate the contribution and role that different organizations
might play in a larger regional learning ecology.
The approach has been using is not about testing or empoisoning a dominant approach or belief
about what constitutes quality art learning. They had suggested that the best approach to informal
art education which is taking ecology approaches. That is because, the opportunities to engage
with art strengthen art learning in and out of school.
3. An Evaluation
In this study the researcher has been studying clarify the importance and effectiveness of
learning in the museum for visual arts students. The process of learning outside school is very
good for the development of students' ideas in producing a work of art.
In addition, it can increase the interest and discipline in the visual arts as well as to provide new
experiences and new learning environment among students. According to the researcher as well
as teachers and students, parents should be equally able to engage in informal learning in
museums. They also play an important role in helping to boost interest in the art and discipline.

3. In this study, the method used by the researchers on parental interviews of 31 people, 22
employee’s museum and Video Observations of the 50 groups of parents and children in the Art
Studio exhibit area. Study Participants were parents and children visiting the museum, who were
invited to participate in the study if they were in the Art Studio space.
The researcher also asked to parents about their belief about art and art education, as well as
what they thought about the role of adults in children’s art making at the museum and at home.
Finding from the video observation study suggested that most parents did not get directly
involved in making art. Hence, according to researcher, parents tended to stand back and observe
their children, they helped to facilitate their child’s work, and occasionally they offered
directions or advice.
According to the results of the interview and observation studies help the museum to address
their differing assumptions about the creative process in order to move forward the museum’s
broader agenda for a socio-cultural based approach to learning.
4. A discussion of Implication
According to researcher, out-of-school learning is very important to develop students’ skills,
interest and disciplinary process.
In addition, they also argue that the involvement of parents in the process of informal learning,
such as in a museum is very important to help students receive a different way of learning than
normal.
In my view, a study carried out by them in some way help other researchers and teachers to track
the effectiveness of the learning out of the classroom can improve student learning, especially in
art education.
