Point of view POV
POV The frame of reference for a story. Who is telling it. First Person Third Person Limited Third Person Omniscient
First Person POV Someone IN the story is telling it. Clues: “I” “Me” “My” Limited to what the narrator knows The First Person narrator can be WRONGif he is uninformed, biased, crazy, etc.
Third Person Limited Outside narrator- is not a character INthe story ,[object Object]
Think of the narrator as an invisible cameraman that follows a specific person around.Readers only know what the person being followed knows Can be wrong

  • 6. Third Person Omniscient “Omniscient” means “All Knowing” Outside Narrator Can follow ANYONEaround in the story Can read the mind of ANYONEin the story Can jump from character to character If the author plays fair, is not wrong (though he doesn’t have to tell everything).
