Professional Skills Module for 2013 Management and Engineering Students is a program with 80 Hours
of Power packed- personal development workshops and training sessions aimed at grooming
participants from inside-out. They are not only provided the tools to growth- but also provided an
environment where they can express themselves freely and master the art of communication which is
highly critical to success in today’s competitive environment. Using a judicious mix of presentation
seminar, activities, games, role-plays, Psychometric tests,group discussions, analogies, metaphors, story-
telling, and feedback sharing- this structured program aims to make participants ready for their first
employment interview. And the buck just doesn’t stop there- the trainings and workshops included in
the module are designed for long-term career success and act as a catalyst for the participant to be a
self-starter, in real sense of the term- bringing him/her at the epicenter of a long term achievement by
placing an element of personal responsibility in him/her.

How it works?
The Professional Skills module can be initiated a quarter before the college gears up for the campus
recruitment. Instead of going through the approach of regular classes- we conduct the program over a
span of 10 Saturdays- 8 hours session each. Some of the core merits of the model include:
► Whole day sessions enroll participants deeply and they are influenced by the delivery
► Sunday acts like a gap for reflection on the concepts gained and practiced during the seminar
Further, the regular rhythm of curriculum is not there to interfere with the applied side of personal

PROGRAM DETAILS
Saturday Session # 1: Effective Presentation Skills (8 Hours)
A detailed activity based structured program aimed to enhance the presentation and public speaking
skills of participants. The program focuses on audience analysis, content structure and effective body
language as a means to sharpen the delivery and enhance individual style of the student
Saturday Session # 2: Interpersonal Skills for Success (8 Hours)
A principle centered tool based program of personal excellence developing the qualities of Impactful
communication and influencing skills amongst the participants. The module encompasses the concept of
healthy teams and perception management in the workplace.
Saturday Session # 3: International Business Etiquettes (8 Hours)
An activity based Personality Development module to introduce the students to the different
    dimensions of culture and groom them in Business Etiquettes prevalent in international
    environment
Saturday Session # 4: Professional Communication Workshop (8 Hours)
An activity based interactive module aimed at grooming the participants in the basic tenets of
Professional Communication as outlined in the Syllabi for the First Year. This module is aimed at
providing an application opportunity of previously learned concepts to the group.

A Practice oriented workshop on Presentation Skills , where every participant would be given the
opportunity of Individual as well as group presentation, with query handling and feedback
Saturday Session # 7: Interview Skills for Job Candidates (8 Hours)
A focused module on Key Interview Skills and Career Management, empowering the participants at
every stage from effective CV writing to tackling difficult Interview Questions. All the behavioral aspects-
like Body Language, Etiquettes, etc of a successful Interview are covered in this module, apart from core
Interview success skills.
Saturday Session # 8: Mock Interviews Workshop (8Hours)
A Simulation exercise of core Interview skills for the participants, to brush up their knowledge of
concepts and enhance the confidence levels through rehearsal and feedback. The participants are given
a roadmap to work on the deficiencies highlighted during the workshop at individual level.
Saturday Session # 9: Human Values and Professional Ethics Workshop
(8 Hours)
An interactive seminar on the core human values of Integrity, Team Work, and Innovation along with the
key concepts of Professional Ethics required at the workplace. It aims to instill in the participants, to look
for fulfillment in their career, which can lead them to long term success.
Saturday Session # 10: Time and Priority Management (8 Hours)
This detailed action packed seminar enables participants to master the technique of time management,
using some tested and proven strategies and tools- of managing multiple priorities simultaneously. This

   Rakesh Saha M.Phil.-Linguistics is a widely sought-after
