Followers – Other users who follow your messages.
Tweet – A 140 Character message that you share with your
followers.
Retweet (RT) – Sharing someone else’s tweet to your
audience.
@username – Name of the follower, or user. When you are
mentioning them in your message, you do it with @ and their
username. Other users will be able to click on that username
and view their profile
DM – Direct Message, only you and that follower will see that
tweet when you direct message them.
Hashtags, # - Created by twitter users to categorize topics. If
you hashtag in front of a tag, you will show up on twitter search
results when someone searches under that topic.
Tweetup – When you meet a group or someone in person as a
result of initiating via twitter.
