SOCIAL MEDIA
 Social media (SM) is
  conversation supported by online
  tools.
 The important thing in SM is the
real people who use it and their
  social interactions
SOCIAL MEDIA

 Socialmedia includes web - and
 mobile-based technologies
 which are used to turn
 communication into interactive
 dialogue among organizations,
 communities, and individuals.
SOCIAL MEDIA

According to Andreas Kaplan and Michael
Haenlein Social Media is:
 a group of Internet-based applications that
build on the ideological and technological
  foundations of Web 2.0, and

 that allow the creation and exchange
    of user generated content (UGC).
SOCIAL MEDIA

In the year 2012, social media became
one of the most powerful sources for
news updates through platforms like
Twitter and Facebook.
CLASSIFICATION OF SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media technologies take on
many different forms including
magazines, Internet forums, weblogs,
social blogs, microblogging, wikis,

WEB CONTENT CURATION:

Content curation is the discovery and
compilation of high quality content
pertaining to a certain subject.

The curator takes this valuable and
useful content, mashes it up or cites it,
then distributes it for interested parties
to read and share.
WEB CONTENT CREATION:

Content curation is the ongoing
finding and sharing of relevant digital
and non-digital content about a
specific topic for a specific audience.
Typically, this content will come from
a variety of properly credited sources
and will be collated in such a way that
the collection will be more useful than
its individual elements.
WEB CONTENT CREATION:

Content curation is the collection
of content created by others, then
filtered through one’s own point of
refer-ence.
How many photos and videos can I upload
for free?
