2. DIRECTOR (NOEL CLARKE)
Noel Clarke is one of the most common Urban Drama English directors in
England. He was not only a director but a actor who starred in most of the films
he directed or was apart of. Noel Clarke started of by studying media at the
University of North London which then led to him to pursue into taking acting
classes at London‟s Actors Centre. He performed in television programmes as
well as films from 1999-2012. He has being working with different projects
not just film projects but projects outside the industry like inspiring young
teenagers to broaden their mind.

3. FILM FOCUS & AWARDS
My main film focus would be „Adulthood‟ as
the director Noel Clarke who made the Urban
Drama film has conventions that would I
portray in my film trailer such as: urban
streets, young teenagers, gangs etc.
This film was a big hit as for the opening
weekend the film hot £1,203,319 becoming
highly ranked as one of the most successful
films competing with films like „Sex & The
City‟ , Indiana Jones etc.
It then also received awards and nominations
like „Screen Nation Honorary Production
Award 2009‟ and „BAFTA Awards Orange
Rising Star Award 2009‟.

4. INFLUENCES
Noel Clarke started from scratch from studying
Media Studies for University and then pursuing it
to participating in acting classes at London‟s
Actors Centre which then lead him into writing,
screening and starring in films.
Noel Clarke was thought of being a different but
unique director as he combines his own creativity
as well as film knowledge from Hollywood movies
which helps him create and visualise the films he
makes e.g. Adulthood which was a success as it
got awards and nominations.
He specialises in changing and making either the
narrative or the scenes better which he tells the
scrip editor as well as the actors to make the
story of the film be more alive and real to pull in
the audience which makes his own films unique
and different to other urban drama films.

Noel Clarke is an English actor, director as well as screen writer in London. He
appeared in several urban drama films like Kidult hood, Adulthood, 4321, fast girls etc.
He wrote and acted the screen play for Kidult hood and then later wrote, directed and
starred in the sequel which was Adulthood leading to £1,209,319 on the opening
weekend of its actual release.
Ashley Walters also known as Asher D who is a English rapper and actor. Ashley was part
of the So Solid Crew in his music career which led to having a hit lyricist song called “21
seconds”. For his acting career he appeared in several films like Bullet Boy, Sket, take
2, Get Rich or Die Trying etc. He started the actin career by acting for the „The Young
Indiana Jones Chronicles‟ at the age of 10 which led to being put into „Grange Hill‟ at the
age of 14. He starred in different genre or films like non-fictional films and police
dramas.
Adam Deacon is a English film actor, rapper, writer and a director. He started
the acting career by appearing in Ali G Indahouse and The Bill which led to
starring in Kidult Hood. Adam Deacon worked along side Noel Clarke of
different kind of projects like the sequel of Adulthood, 4321 and West 10
LDN. He was announced as being the „The New Face of Youth Cinema‟ by the
„Time Out‟ magazine. He then won BAFTA Rising Star Award with Noel Clarke
and was then chosen to co-host the „Music of Black Origin Awards‟.

times its opening weekend launch which was
£1,203,319. It also previewed 157 screens.
Kidult hood grossed about £100,056 in the UK
which is quite low compared to the other films
made. It was estimated a budget of £600,000
which then made a opening weekend of £100,056
and previewed in 41 screens.
