Community Action Marin is working in conjunction with Marin County Communtiy Mental Health to create a Crisis Plan for adult individuals who are at risk of psychiatric crisis. While the overall program goal is to reduce inpatient hospitalizaions, the process of completing a plan will allow clients to: 1)Increase awareness of their symptoms and warning signs and how to possibly avoid a crisis. 2)Develop the supports needed when in crisis, such as family, friends or others they trust. 3)Document preferences of medication, and interventions with clinical staff to help deescalate a crisis. 4)Plan for the care of housing, dependents and vehicles should there be a need for hospitalization.
