This document provides instructions for exporting an InDesign visual portfolio to a PDF file. It outlines locating and opening the InDesign file, resolving any missing image links, clicking "File" then "Adobe PDF Presets" to export it as a high quality PDF, saving the file in the Visual Portfolio folder with the student's name, and checking that folder for the exported PDF file.
1. Exporting your InDesign Portfolio
1. Locate and Open your InDesign Visual Portfolio
** If possible, receive a critique from your teacher on the finished portfolio. **
2. You will see this window:
This document contains a link to a source that is missing. You can find or relink the missing link using the Links panel.
**If you did not save your InDesign Visual Portfolio in your Finished Work folder, you will get the
missing links window. **
** Your portfolio will open without the image linked. If you made any edits to your art work
images, you will have to relink the images. **
3. Click OK
4. Click the Links button:
5. Double click the question mark in the red circle. This will open a window for you to find the
missing image.
2. 6. Now, to export your portfolio, click File > Adobe PDF Presets > [High Quality Print]…
7. The Export box will open:
8. Save in: should be in your Visual Portfolio
9. Change the file name to: First NameLast Name_Visual Portfolio.pdf
Ex. Sirron Cee_Visual Portfolio.pdf
3. 10. Click Save and the Export Adobe PDF box will open
** Make sure All pages are selected and click Export. **
11. Click OK on the Warning window
12. You have now exported your Visual Portfolio to a .pdf document.
13. Check you Visual Portfolio folder for the .pdf document.
