While salesforce.com provides a number of resources to help, we have also found that there are a few things that your organization can do to ensure that you are getting the most of our product. Through our research we have found that to position your organization for success, you should We have found this to be just as relevant for small organizations with limited budgets as large organizations with large budgets.
Once you have decided that salesforce is the right tool for your organization and you have your senior leadership on board, you should decide on your implementation strategy. Generally, you can choose to have a consulting partner help you implement or you can implement with staff who have dedicated time to learn and customize salesforce
User adoption is the single most important ingredient in success, and survey after survey shows that training is one of the top things you can do to make Salesforce CRM a success. Your training strategy might include hiring a consultant to provide training, accessing salesforce.com training, or accessing the training library available through help and Training.
In addition to training, our customers also find it helpful to join our active user community. You can join a user group, get Answers on our user forums, join the Nonprofit Starter Pack Google group if you use the Nonprofit Starter Pack, join the Higher Ed Chatter Community or follow the foundation on face book, twitter and YouTube.
After you have successfully implemented Salesforce, you can then start to extend your application. You can enable mobile access for your users with mobile lite. You can extend the functionality of your crm with integrations like the outlook integration or other email and calendar apps available on the Appexchange. And you can find hundreds of helpful apps on the Appexchange for things like sending bulk HTML campaigns, accepting online donations, and printing labels, envelopers and invoices right from Salesforce
User adoption is key to making Salesforce CRM a success. To ensure high rates of user adoption you need a long-term strategy, with ongoing efforts to drive adoption. Your adoption plan should include strategies that make the adoption of salesforce fun and rewarding for your staff, ensuring that they can see the value that salesforce is bringing to your work. And finally, you should plan on using Chatter to further user adoption and collaboration across your organization.
