2. Introduction
 India’s huge pool of young people might be
considered its biggest strength. After independence
there is a remarkable growth in the higher education
system of India offering education and training in
almost all aspects of human creativity and intellectual
endeavour.
 However, the overall scenario of higher education in
India does not match with the global Quality
standards.
 We need an educational system which is liberal,
modern and can adapt to the ever changing needs of
the changing world.

 To study and analyze the emerging issues of
present higher educational system.
 To analyze the Challenges of present higher
educational system in India.
 Suggestion to improve higher education system
in India in future

4. Emerging Issues
 The participation of students in demonstrations,
strikes, processions, setting libraries on fire,
damaging laboratories and university properties.
 Economic difficulties.
 Low expenditure on Higher Education.
 The poor performance of the universities in
research.
 Shortage of faculty and poor infrastructure.
 Political interference.

5. Challenges
 Too much time spent on assessing the problems,
rather than finding tangible solutions.
 Miss match in supply and demand.
 Mushrooming of low quality, money making
Institutes.
 Ineffective Foreign Education Providers Bill.
 Lack of relevant opportunities and project based
learning.

6. Solutions
 Make the curriculum Dynamic not Dogmatic.
 Make the Teachers feel worthy, pay them
more.
 Make the Private Institutes for profit, not non-
profit.
 Industry Interaction a Placement Obligation:
 Use the power of the Alumni:
 Fair Quality Assurance System

7. Conclusion
 India has depth of talent but this talent need to be
harnessed and give proper education for our
better future.
 If India has to do better and make our Make In
India success, India needs a comprehensive
policy, with no interference from politics and
personal agendas .
 We need to make things in India better like better
infrastructure of educational institute so that the
talent don’t go out and remain in India.
