The body experiences pain for a variety of reasons. Inflammation is a major player in that problem, so understanding if you have excessive inflammation and why is key to finding answers to your pain problem, as well as how to eliminate it.
1. Magnet For Disease?
In the past few years, the root cause of many
health issues has been attributed to chronic
inflammation. There have been studies
suggesting that in many of the complaints and
diseases we as a culture have seen a rapid rise

signs of normal inflammation. This is called the
Inflammatory Cascade; and is the first signal that
your immune system is being called into action.

(the battle) begins. Pro-inflammatory hormones (the
captains) in your body call out (give an order) for your
white blood cells (your soldiers) to come and clear out
infection and damaged tissue (the threat). Once the
threat is neutralized, equally powerful, closely related
anti-inflammatory compounds (medics), move in to
begin the healing process.
5. How Can You Tell If Your
Inflammatory Response is
Healthy?
When needed, our bodies are programmed to respond
to the threat to repair any resulting damage. When the
identified infectious or dangerous substance has been
addressed, anti-inflammatory compounds are released
and our bodies return to a balanced state.
6. The Difference
Acute Inflammation is inflammation that ebbs and
flows as needed. It signifies a well-balanced immune
system.
Chronic Inflammation is when symptoms of
inflammation don’t recede. Even when you aren’t in
imminent danger, it’s poised on high alert. The “on”
switch to your immune system just won’t shut off —
it’s stuck.
7. Is There a Test?
Currently there is no definitive test for inflammation.
Conventional medicine doesn’t have a diagnosis or test
available to determine the cause of chronic or systemic
inflammation.

How Do I Know?
You have to look for the symptoms which can be
associated with low grade chronic inflammation.

Fuzzy thinking

Some practitioners believe that on the surface, this is the look
of a heart disease candidate — on fire from the inside out.
10. The Good News
Because inflammation can present in so many different
ways, it’s safe to say that a large part of the population
is walking around on “simmer.”
There are so many people with symptoms of
inflammation; that it’s becoming the norm, not the
exception. This means we are setting ourselves up for
problems as we age. The sky-rocketing rates of allergies,
obesity, IBS, and chronic pain don’t lie.
The good news is, once we understand what causes
inflammation; we can choose actions that can either fan
or cool the flames. We can choose daily to make better
choices that bring us back into balance.
