Facebook is working to expand how relationships between people and objects/brands can be represented on its platform. It introduced OpenGraph and Facebook actions to allow users to reflect various interactions they have with things, not just people. Actions define how people interact with objects and can be used to post these interactions to users' timelines. OpenGraph further enables standard Facebook elements like photos, statuses, and pages to have actions applied to them or created from them. Mobile is increasingly important as over 350 million users access Facebook through mobile each month.
