The Georg-Kerschensteiner-Schule is an integrative primary school in Schwalbach am Taunus, Germany that teaches 225 children from 32 nations together, regardless of disability. The Georg-Kerschensteiner-Schule is an
integrative primary school in a district called
Limes. Children with and without a disability
live and learn here together. At the moment 225
children from 32 nations are taught by 26
teachers. Differentiation and individual learning
are forming our lessons. Learning with delight
and acting friendly with each other are
important characteristics of our school climate.

3. Our concept
The Georg-Kerschensteiner-Schule is a school with a
special diversity.
The community has to be formed newly every day.
Every child in our school district is welcome to our school.
Every child with its different abilities and needs is being
educated.
Social learning is a very important keystone in our school.
Learning together, playing, making music, living,
celebrating, looking for new ways, solving conflicts can
only work out, when we are open for others and take time
for each other.

4. Musical School
Since the school year 2005/2006 our school has the title „Musical
primary school“. We all know the positive effect of music on children.
That is why children in our school have the possibility to learn
different instruments like flute, violin or clarinet or they can sing in a
choir. Besides, we offer drumming and dancing lessons.

5. Corporate education
We are an integrative primary school. All children living in the district
Limes with a disability or a special need come to our school. That
makes it possible for them to take part in life, learning and playing in
their city.
We believe that corporate education is a challenge and enrichment for
everybody.

6. Without marks
Since 1993 the students at our school get exclusively
verbal school reports.
For us it is very important that the teachers support
every child with its own individual learning capability.

8. Information about the town
Schwalbach am Taunus lies on the southeastern slope of the
Taunus Mountains, only 12 kilometers from Frankfurt, the
center of the Rhine-Main Region. The city therefore enjoys the
best of transportation connections, but still has a prime, quiet
location on the edge of the Upper Taunus Nature Reserve. In
1970, Schwalbach am Taunus became a city. Its center, which
contains the city hall, community building, and numerous
shops surrounding the market square, also connects Old
Schwalbach with the new part of the city.
Around 15.000 people from over 80 nations today live in
Schwalbach am Taunus.
