Community Outreach Annual Impact Report
1.
2. Oakley Community,
We maintain the same innovative approach to improving the communities in which we work and play
as we do in our business endeavors. We aim to channel our passion for sports and innovation
to help those in the greatest need. We do this on a local, national and global level through employee
volunteerism, product donation, our partnership with OneSight, and product collaborations with select
charitable organizations.
As we reflect on the last year of improving the communities in which we work and
play, we realize that we didn’t do it alone. We couldn’t have done any of it without
all of you—our employees, charitable partners, vendors and athletes out on the
front lines, passionately impacting the world around you for the better.
Thank you for your dedication and innovative approach to solving the
problems in the world around you. Thanks for using your passion and
expertise in the sport and optical industries to improve the lives of others.
We invite you to join us as we tell stories of the past year. Let this serve as our
“thank you” and an invitation to join us in our continuing adventure. Enjoy our 1st
Annual Charitable Impact Report!

4. Holiday Food & Toy Drives
Approximately 13% of children ages 1-17 are living in poverty in Orange County, CA*. This holiday
season, employees rallied together to help those in need within our community with a food
and toy collection drive. We collected 1,351 canned food items and 752 toys that were donated to
the Orangewood Children’s Foundation, Toys for Tots and Second Harvest Food Bank.

5. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County
We joined Panda Express, Jack-in-the-Box and Wahoo’s in sponsorship of the 2nd Annual Doorways
mentor recruitment event at Knott’s Berry Farm and participating restaurants. In the aim of recruiting new
mentors, Big Brothers Big Sisters paired 75 children on their waitlist with Orange County business leaders
for a day of fun. Thanks to our employee volunteers, the event was a great success! There are still more
than 200 children waiting for a mentor. For more information, visit: www.bigbrooc.org
6. TACA Picnic
Twenty Oakley employees spent a Sunday in June as volunteers for Talk About Curing Autism’s Annual
Picnic. They served food, registered families, supervised rides, assisted with the festivities and
clean-up when all 1,500 family members had finished the fun-filled day! TACA provides resources and
support to families affected by autism. For more information, visit: www.tacanow.org
7. Snowball Express
End-of-Summer Picnic
Face-painting, Sheriff’s Hummers, balloon artists, dunk tanks and helicopters—the essentials of every child’s dream
day. Thanks to Snowball Express, all of this came true on Saturday, August 22 for 50 kids at William-Mason
Regional Park in Orange County. Twenty Oakley employees joined volunteers from American Airlines, the OC Sheriffs’
department and other organizations to provide an amped up day packed with food, fun and surprises. To top it off,
all of the Snowball Express children walked away with an Oakley pack stuffed with school supplies! They were stoked!
Snowball Express is a non-profit organization that provides hope and new memories to the children of U.S. fallen military
heroes. We have supported Snowball Express since its inception in 2006, and have helped to provide memories to more
than 2,000 children. For more information, visit: www.snowballexpress.org

Lance Armstrong
Foundation
We are proud of our partnership with the Lance
Armstrong Foundation. In support of their mission
to unite people in the fight against cancer, we are
donating U.S. $20 from each product purchase in
the LIVESTRONG collection.
“We started as a small foundation focused on helping
testicular cancer survivors. With Oakley’s support, over
the years LIVESTRONG has expanded our services and our
reach. We’ve gone from helping a few hundred people our
first year to helping millions, and expanded our focus from
testicular cancer to all forms of cancer. And we’ve grown
in scope, from fighting this disease in the United States to
taking the fight around the world. Thank you, Oakley, for
your help in the fight against cancer.”

Each summer, the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) brings together hundreds
of professional surfers and industry VIPs to raise money to protect our oceans here at home and
around the world. This year with their golf tournament and gala, SIMA raised more than $400,000 to

18. OneSight Partnership
Around the world, more than 250 million people suffer from poor vision simply because they don’t
have access to or can’t afford care. OneSight, a Luxottica Group Foundation, is a family of charitable
vision care programs dedicated to improving vision for all those in need through outreach, research
and education. Since 1986, OneSight has provided free vision care and eyewear to more than seven
million people in need around the world and has granted millions towards research and education.
While we are committed to making the latest advancements in eyewear technology, we also
recognize that vision care and eyewear are a basic necessity. Therefore, we have selected OneSight
as our global outreach partner. As a subsidiary of Luxottica, we have committed to supporting the
foundation through funding, eyewear recycling programs and employee volunteerism.
2009 Oakley OneSight Support
In support of OneSight we hosted a Regional Eye Care Clinic, sponsored 30 Oakley
employees on Global and Regional OneSight Clinics, donated ophthalmic frames for
Clinic use and launched an eyewear recycling program at our headquarters. You can
help too. For more information, visit: www.onesight.org

In February 2009, we partnered with OneSight for the first Eye Care Clinic for military families
stationed at Camp Pendleton Marine Base. During the one week clinic, more than 50 Oakley
employee volunteers joined Luxottica optical professionals and provided free prescription
glasses to 700 children and spouses of military personnel. Recipients at the clinic chose from
thousands of Oakley styles for their new glasses!
22. Oakley was created for athletes who see the limits of possibility as just another challenge. We
are constantly redefining the standards of convention to turn good to great. We maintain the
same innovative approach to improving the communities in which we work and play. In each
project we undertake, we aim to channel our passion for excellence and innovation to help those
who defy their own limits.
