KEY TAKEAWAYS
- If you aren’t utilizing infographics, you are missing out
- Don’t compromise on infographic design elements
- Make it easy for users to share & re-post infographics
- Don’t forget to share on your own social networks
- Measure for success, rinse & repeat!
Imagery processed 60,000 times faster than text.
“A picture is worth a 1,000 words!”
Most of us only remember 20% of what we read.
There are still many marketers who have yet to utilize infographics or who have even heard of them!
If you are into these old infographics, search “vintage infographics” on Pinterest to discover a wide assortment of them.
The majority of infographics that are submitted to Infographic Journal are in this class of “ugly infographics.”
Place citations and sources at bottom of infographic, close to where your branding will also be.
These types of infographics, if they can be called that, would be better served as articles or blog posts with some images to accompany text.
Tip: Make sure your social sharing buttons do not require users to “sign in” with their social media accounts. <cough> <cough> Mashable
Every time we publish an infographic on Infographic Journal, we share it to IJ’s as well as the author’s Twitter, Facebook, Google+ & Pinterest accounts as well as LinkedIn & Tumblr and for really good ones, StumbleUpon.
Tip: Make sure you are sharing other things on your social media networks, not just promotional stuff.
Tip: For Wordpress sites, search “embed code generator Wordpress” for our free plugin.
Tip: Don’t just “cut and paste” description from original post as archive doesn’t want a duplicate content issue just to re-post your infographic.
Tip: Provide archive a link to the original post where your infographic is. Don’t make them look for it because they won’t.
