4. What we do – and don’t do!
»We DO extract data from gateways for publishers that are
JUSP participants
»We DO provide reports that display (or aggregate) this
usage alongside or combined with publisher data
»We DON’T gather data for non-JUSP publishers*
»Therefore … we DON’T display complete gateway reports

5. Ingenta / EBSCOhost / ProQuest reports
»We gather these files monthly and extract data for those
publishers which are signed up to JUSP
»Data for non-JUSP publishers are ignored
»Data are stored in a format so that they can be viewed
alongside or combined with data directly obtained from
publishers
»Issues can arise where gateways use historic ISSNs or
omit identifiers; dealt with on a ‘best case’ basis

»JSTOR and MUSE are treated as publishers in JUSP
»We display usage as being from that publisher, not any
component imprint or publisher
»Individual journal search will show usage across the
different sources
»AIP reports also contain various society titles but these
are ignored as we don’t have agreements with them
