Minding Our Business - Western Sydney Micro Enterprise Hub
are a peer support group for people with disability in western Sydney and lower Blue Mountains who are interested in learning about how to run a very small business.
2. About Us
We are a peer
support group for
people with a
disability who are
interested in
learning about how
to run a very small
business.
3. Meet The Team
Anna Holly Karl Ryan
I love animals, so my
small business makes
dog treats and I sell
them at the local
markets
I’m a photographer
and my business is
about taking
professional portraits
of people
I’ve got a green thumb,
so my business is about
growing succulent
plants and selling them
at the markets
I like being creative and
am learning how to
make tie-dye t-shirts to
sell at the markets.
4. What We Do
We provide group members…
Welcoming and
friendly place to come
together.
Members can talk about
ideas and ask questions.
Lots of support to
help start and run a
business.
Running a small business
helps members earn income
and be more independent.
Learn important
new skills and
experiences.
Members learn about
planning, budgeting, record
keeping and more.
5. Why We Do It
Starting a very small business provides a solution.
We are a group of
people who want
to help ourselves
We want to create
change and make
a difference
We want real jobs and
real employment to give
us dignity and control
Employment rates are low for people with a disability…
6. “People with a disability have
a rate of entrepreneurship
50% higher than the Australian
average yet we know very little
about their story.“
