LEAD Brevard's Leadership Brevard Class of 2019 Leadership Action Project
This project will create and launch an awareness campaign aimed at inspiring a call to action to end family homelessness in Brevard. This campaign may consist of a video, billboard, television, radio and other collateral materials for public advertising and awareness to move our community to action. The project team will build on the data created by two prior Leadership Brevard classes to guide the development of a marketing campaign. Project participants will meet with families who are experiencing homelessness, and major stakeholders like service providers, landlords, healthcare providers, law enforcement and educators to create the concept and narrative for the campaign.

Develop an awareness campaign

Learning how many families with children in Brevard have no place to call home was profoundly moving and compelling. We wanted to jump into action with a big solution! We had to scale back our desire to solve this problem quickly and work together toward a realistic and lasting goal.
Our group was invited to create an awareness campaign to bring attention to the plight of homeless families in Brevard. Meeting at the Family Promise “House” was a formative experience. We sometimes saw homeless families doing their laundry and kids getting off the school bus there.Despite our different backgrounds, personalities and work styles, we became very committed and focused on how we could have an impact.
Branding the awareness campaign.

JOHN:
As we continued to embark on the “You’re the Key” campaign we couldn’t ask for a better ambassador and key contributor than Sheriff Wayne Ivey. The LAP Team and Sheriff Ivey created the story, and script for a video with a key message of raising awareness about family homelessness in Brevard County and creating a call to action for our community.
A turning point: Learning Sheriff Ivey would make a video. We were tasked with creating the story and drafting key messages. Sheriff Ivey and his team did the rest.
JOHN:
We collaborated with ScreenVison Media representative Willie Carrasco and he along with the Family Promise Leadership engaged with Screen Time project partners to sponsor running Sheriff Ivey’s 90 second video which you will see at the end of this presentation, and if you go to the AMC Avenue 16, it will be featured at the end of early pre-show just before national spots and trailers.
The video will be featured before every movie on all AMC Avenue 16 screens for a total 560 times a week
To approximately 18,500 visitors per week
In 52 weeks, to over 962,000 visitors
…Sherriff Ivey’s 90 second “You’re the Key campaign video will be shown 29,120 times in a 52 weeks!
