O artigo analisa criticamente a teoria da distribuição de Kaldor no contexto de seus modelos de crescimento econômico com pleno emprego da segunda metade da década de 1950. Os principais resultados dessa análise são os seguintes. Primeiro, a contribuição da teoria da distribuição de Cambridge para os modelos em questão está restrita ao provimento de um mecanismo de ajustamento entre oferta e demanda agregadas, numa condição de pleno emprego da força de trabalho. Segundo, o referido mecanismo de ajustamento não é considerado plausível no caso de excesso de oferta agregada em pleno emprego, pois o mecanismo keynesiano tradicional de ajustamento não encontra nenhuma restrição ao seu funcionamento e o mecanismo kaldoriano pressupõe um comportamento por parte das firmas pouco razoável do ponto de vista econômico. Terceiro, o mecanismo kaldoriano é igualmente implausível no caso de excesso de demanda agregada em pleno emprego, uma vez que nesta situação é mais provável que exista uma resistência dos salários aos aumentos de preços, impedindo a queda da parcela dos salários prevista pela teoria de Cambridge. Finalmente, evidenciamos o caráter arbitrário da teoria da distribuição de Cambridge no contexto em que ela foi proposta e utilizada por Kaldor.

Created by Mozilla Research in 2012 and now part of Linux Foundation Europe, the Servo project is an experimental rendering engine written in Rust. It combines memory safety and concurrency to create an independent, modular, and embeddable rendering engine that adheres to web standards. Stewardship of Servo moved from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation in 2020, where its mission remains unchanged. After some slow years, in 2023 there has been renewed activity on the project, with a roadmap now focused on improving the engine’s CSS 2 conformance, exploring Android support, and making Servo a practical embeddable rendering engine. In this presentation, Rakhi Sharma reviews the status of the project, our recent developments in 2023, our collaboration with Tauri to make Servo an easy-to-use embeddable rendering engine, and our plans for the future to make Servo an alternative web rendering engine for the embedded devices industry.
