Also called reverse swallow or immature
swallow.
It’s common name of oro-facial imbalance, a
human behavior pattern in which the tongue
protrudes through the anterior incisor during
swallowing, speech, and while the tongue is at
rest
5. Infantile swallow:
All infants thrust their tongue while swallowing
Tongue lies between the gum pads
Mandible is stabilized by contraction of facial muscle
Disappears with eruption of teeth and growth of
mandible
