An I-Search is an inquiry-based research project where students choose their own topics to investigate. It has four main parts: selecting a topic, finding information, using the information, and developing a final product. Students start by outlining what they already know about their topic and what questions they have. They then make a plan to research their topic using various sources and take notes. Students analyze their findings and reflect on what they learned. Finally, they share their experience and how their understanding has changed in a concluding document.
