Loam soil, clay soil, and sandy soil were observed and tested to determine the best soil for growing plants. Loam soil was found to be the best as it contained a mix of particle sizes, allowing for air and water retention as well as organic matter. Clay soil contained very small particles that compacted easily without draining water well. Sandy soil drained quickly without retaining moisture. An experiment showed radish seeds grew best in loam soil, confirming it provides the necessary support, nutrients, air, and water for optimal plant growth. The right soil type is important for sufficient food production.
