3. Project Formulation
A project report provides all the necessary information of the unit proposed to set up is included
under formulation of project.
It’s required by various developmental objectives that helps us in setting up of the unit
particularly financial institution and banks that provide financial assistant.
The report should be prepared in such a way that it is able to provide complete information that
may be required by financial institution for appraising the project.
A well prepared project report will not only save the time & energy of the banker but also help
the entrepreneur who has to face many objectives and queries for the banker.
An entrepreneur when starting for any business unit should have the following information readily

A press will be accomplishing following work:i.
Job work which include the printing of leaflets, booklets, pamphlets, calendars, folders, annual
reports and other miscellaneous items.
ii. Book work include printing of educational journals, novels and other books etc.
iii. Magazines and newspaper printing.
iv. Packing work which include Monocarts and corogated boxes used for packing of items.
2. Project description:
a. Site: the press has to be set up in the Pantnagar nearby college of technology, G. B. P. U. A.T.

Physical infrastructure: The press will consist of following unitsComposing unit: this unit consist of computers having designing software’s (PageMaker, coral,
Photoshop etc.), used for preparing format of printing material.
Scanning unit: This unit consists of image setter & scanner which sets the images and scan the
printed material on plate.
Plate exposing frame: this prepare the plate in YMCK pattern ( yellow, magenta, kala and which
is used in printing machine.

a. Demand and supply position: there is regular demand of product (printing materials like
poster, books, information booklet, register, brochure. Folder, magazines and journals)
because of university.
b. Price: the price of product is decided as per the university order.
c. Marketing Strategy: There is two person appointed for the purpose of marketing and
public relation although in University there is not much need of marketing of product.
d. Seasonal factor: Before New Year , brochure or admission of new students, publishing of
monthly journals work increases. Sometime extra time is spend by worker in accomplishing
their work.
e. Transportation: University transport facility is available.

Selecting the Area For setting an enterprise: the minimum area required for establishing a press
is 2,000 yard square.
Building infrastructure: the building will be single story but If the area is less then required area;
multistory building can be built, the heavy machines will be on the ground floor, the binding,
cutting and lamination work will be on first floor and employees office will be on second floor.
Getting license from Sales tex department:
Sales tex department of government of India provides two certificate for the enterprise. Firstly
they check the area and infrastructure then they provide “Form-16” and "Form-C”
“Form-16” is certificate for road permit. It is helpful for importing raw material from other
states. The press gives one copy of this certificate to the suppling agency and one copy is
submitted in the border line of the state.
“Form-C” is for getting rebate in the tex. Generally press have to pay 5-15% tax on the raw
material like paper, ink, chemical, cleaning material etc. after getting “Form-C” press have to pay
only 2% tax on these items.

8. Accounting & book keeping:
Account system will be maintain through following syatem-
1. Stock ledger: It consist maintenance of all stocks from where it is coming & where it
will be delivered.
2. Cash book: It will record all financial transactions of press for example salary of employee, draft
received from client etc.
3. Demand supply book: It will record all orders , payments , & supply of the material.
Advantage of accounting & book keeping system:
This will helpful in getting acquainted with the financial status of the business.
