PROVINCES MARINDUQUE OCCIDENTAL MINDORO ORIENTAL MINDORO PALAWAN ROMBLON MAP REGION IV-B
MIMAROPA is one of the regions of the Philippines. It is one of two regions of the Philippineshaving no land border with another region, Eastern Visayasbeing the other, and is designated as Region IV-B. The name is a portmanteau combining the names of its provinces, which are: Occidental Mindoro,Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan. Calapan City is the regional center, however most regional government offices like the Department of Public Works are situated in Quezon City, Metro Manila.
MARINDUQUE(THE HEART OF THE PHILIPPINES)CAPITAL : BOAC Towns/Cities Boac Buenavista Gasan Mogpog Santa Cruz Torrijos
The island of Marinduque is known to have been first peopled by the Malays and the Mangyans. They were believed to be governed by the Bonbon settlement in Batangas, which was founded by the Borneandatus, Dumagsil and Balkasusa. Legendary stories narrate that the original name of the island was “Malandik,” describing the gently slopping terrain of the island’s highest peak, Mt. Malandik. When the Spaniards came, they found it difficult to pronounce the word, so they called the island Marinduc. Through constant usage, Marinduc became Marinduque.
Moriones Festival Annually, during the observance of Holy Week, a biblical character in the person of the Roman centurion, Longinus, comes alive as the towns of Boac, Mogpog, and Gasan celebrate the Moriones Festival. It is a religious festival, which links the story of Longinus with Christ’s Passion and Death.

OCCCIDENTAL MINDORO The present Occidental Mindoro is an agricultural area devoted to the production of food. It 's economic base is rice production (Oryzasativaculture), a Philippine staple crop. It is the leading activity and source of seasonal employment in the province, participated in by almost 80 per cent of the population, including children.

ORIENTAL MINDORO Oriental Mindoro is touted as the country's emerging eco-tourism destination. In 2005, the Philippines was found to be the center of marine fish biodiversity and the home of the most diverse marine ecosystem in the world,by American biologists Kent Carpenter and Victor Springer. Most of the endemic species in the Philippines are found in the Verde Island Passage between Mindoro island and the main island of Luzon. Our study indicates, however, that there is a higher concentration of species per unit area in the Philippines than anywhere in Indonesia, including Wallace... Special attention to marine conservation efforts in the Philippines is justified because of the identification of it as an epicenter of biodiversity and evolution.

UNDERGROUND RIVER Nominated for the New Seven Wonders of the World
The Philippines’ mystical subterranean underground river is nominated as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Many believed and I as one, the Palawan Underground River (also known as the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park) located in the Puerto Princesa,Palawan, Philippines is one of the amazing gift of nature found in the world. The Palawan Underground River, formerly known as St. Paul Subterranean River, is an unspoiled eight kilometers river runs under a mountain range. Romblon Diamond of the Philippines and The Carabao Island of the Philippines Romblon is endowed with lush vegetation and mineral resources. Aside from marble, the islands are rich in granite, nickel, silica, mercury, zinc, copper, silver, limestone, sulfide, ores, kaolin, clay, magnesium and quartz. Gold panning sites have sprouted in some of the mountain stream areas in Magdiwang, Sibuyan Island. The fertile soil nurtures varied agricultural crops—like coconut, rice, corn, bananas, rootcrops, fruit trees, vines and many others. Offshore, Romblon is a rich fishing ground. The islands lie on the migratory path of fishes from the Sulu and Visayan Seas, passing the Tablas Strait, Sibuyan Sea and Romblon Pass.
