2. Age Range
Our production is aimed at individuals between
the ages of 15 and 35. We chose to have the
minimum age limit at 15 due to the sexual nature
of the film.
We believed this age range would be suitable for
our short film as our main character, Suki D is a
teenager similar to a selection of our target
audience. We therefore thought they may be able
to relate to Suki D’s situation and will possibly
build a relationship with his character.
3. Gender
Our production is aimed at both genders,
male and female. We chose to focus the
production on both genders as we believe
they would both be able to relate to the
overall plot of our short film which is about a
teenager losing his virginity. Although, when
discussing our gender target audience we
discussed how we believe males may find
Suki D’s situation more comical compared to
females who may feel more sympathetic for
Suki D due to his lack of luck and
desperation to lose his virginity.
4. Socio-economic groups
Our short film will be aimed at socio-economic
groups C1, C2, D and E. These groups
consist of individuals in supervisory,
administrative and manual work, as well as
the unemployed. We have chosen these
groups as we believe the members will be
able to relate to Suki D’s situation and will
enjoy the comical aspect’s of the production
compared to the more sophisticated groups,
A and B.
5. BBFC
Our film has the BBFC of a 15. We have
chosen this BBFC as although there is no
strong language or nudity, the storyline of
the production is about a teenager losing
his virginity to an escort which we believe
would not be appropriate or relatable to
younger audiences.
We also chose this certification as
throughout the short film there are
portrayals of sexual activity which may be
uncomfortable for individuals under the age
of 15 to watch which is why we have
restrained from giving the film a BBFC of
12A.
