Welcome to the Art of Authentic Leadership Welcome to the Art of Authentic Leadership  The Art of Authentic Leadership Training Manual provides a basis to explore how personal experiences shape the way you serve others and own your passage of leadership – authentic leadership. Every person has a story, a story to be told, and a story to be accepted.  In Authentic Leadership, autonomy is being who you are at all times in every situation; whether people stand with you or having to stand alone.  Your story reflects the person you see in the mirror as you pursue leadership with confidence in an ever changing global society.  You are aware of your strengths and areas of improvement to lead in the most effective manner possible. A leader’s sense of who they are does not depend on membership, work roles, or other social indicators of identity (Zaleznik, 2010).  Whether in formal or informal settings all of you are leaders…leaders who are passionate and led by the merits of the heart.
