2. Initial makeup and costume ideas…
I wont be using many
models in my magazine
as I am mainly focusing
on places. But I am
including some
fashion/lifestyle contents
so I will need to look at
ideas for makeup and
costume.
For one of my articles I
might use ‘Sunderland
Blogger of the month’.
And the makeup ideas
for that are very neutral,
I don’t want it to look
too overpowering, I was
it to look natural and
neat. Makeup should be
limited and not too
bright.
As far as clothing goes, I want it to
look very casual so it matches my
‘theme’. With neutral makeup and
casual clothing, I think it will help me
make my magazine regional as it
keeps it neutral, and Sunderland
doesn't’t really go for an overdressed
look like somewhere such as London
may do. This is because my region has
different networks to places like
London, people still dress
professionally but its not a day to day
look for the majority of people in
Sunderland.
When I photograph my models, I
want them to look casual but smart at
the same time. This still gives a
professional looking magazine, but
fits to my region. Hair should also
match the casual look, and maybe be
straightened or up in a neat ponytail.
3. Front cover
For my front cover, I want the image to be of a place such as the Penshaw Monument. The ideas I have for my magazine are
focused on culture. I am including mainly places/events, some fashion and some lifestyle. I am using everything locally
meaning all my images will be taken in my region and my contents will be regional.
So, I want my front cover to be of a full image of a place in Sunderland. I don’t really know exactly what yet, but I am
looking into the Penshaw Monument and other places local to my home. So I am not really using props or makeup, I am
just going to use an image of a landscape.
4. Above all, my magazine will be dominated by images of places and events, but I am still including models
in different areas of my magazine and website. They will all be similar, and I may use an image more than
once, so I will take quite a few images so I have many to choose from.
When I do take my photographs, I want my model to go for the look I have shown in this PowerPoint. A
natural, smart look.
