How many of us are lucky enough to get such a touching
message from our boss. Of course, not many. We are lucky,
if we have such great bosses.

• Great bosses appreciate the fact that they are successful
because of the committed and passionate team members. They
are molding their team members with their inspiring leadership
gestures like well done, thank you and let’s do it.
• No one is born as a great boss, but everyone can be a great boss
with their leadership gestures. Team Member Day is an
opportunity to initiate new leadership gesture. It is a ceremony
to appreciate the efforts of team members, honour their
commitment and show gratitude for their support.

from their neck saying, 'make me feel
important.' Never forget this message
when working with people."

Everyone wants to be acknowledged and recognized for the work
they did. A thank you note, pat on the back or a simple good job
from the Boss will help the team member to feel that their efforts
are acknowledged and recognized. But, most of the bosses forget
to say ‘well done’ and ‘thank you’. They tempt to believe that
salaries, incentives, bonus and annual salary hike will satisfy the
team member.

appreciated, so if you appreciate
someone; don't keep it secret."

As Mary Kay Ash rightly quoted, “There are two things people
want more than sex and money-recognition and praise”, team
members need encouragement every day to boost up their
performance. When boss takes genuine interest in the
development of his team member and gives necessary guidance
and opportunities, he is creating a loyal hardworking team.

criticism between two layers
of praise.”

We are celebrating October 16 as Bosses’ Day to express gratitude
for their leadership, guidance and support. Like that this day is to
Appreciate great teamwork and workship (work relationship) &
to propagate the importance of Team Member Rights
In this era of abundant job opportunities leaders can’t force the
team members to work. Leader needs to win their confidence and
develop them to secure their sincere contributions for the
progress of the organization.

honor and serve the people who work for
you, they will honor and serve you."

1. Right to know what is expected from the team member
2. Right to get regular feedback from the boss
3. Right to know what needs to do to improve
When the leader forgets to respect the rights of team member,
team member fails. When team member fails, leader fails.
Ultimately team fails.

organization they lead; who work for the benefit of others
and not just for their own personal gain. Leaders who inspire
and motivate, not intimidate and manipulate; who live with
people to know their problems in order to solve them.”

Unfortunately some of the bosses are not interested to
communicate openly and involve friendly with their team
members. They believe ‘professional distance’ is a must to keep
their position power.
They are not showing any real interest in their team members.
They are not realizing, nobody wants to follow a leader who
doesn’t have any genuine interest in his team members. During,
annual appraisal process, they are only finding out reasons for low
salary hike. Result, the team member will think, “You are what you
pay for”.
“You cannot keep determined people from
success. If you place stumbling blocks in their
way, they will use them for stepping stones and
climb to new heights.”

As Peter Drucker suggested every leader should ask to his/her
team member,
 Am I any way obstructing your work?
What can I do to enable you to do your work in a better
manner?
This will help to nurture a good workship between leader and
team member. If you are not doing this start doing this from this
Team Member’s Day and do frequently.

• A Thank You note/card Sample wording- I know how hard you
work, and this is just a little something to say thank you. I really
appreciate all your hard work and effort.
• Sweets, Candies, Chocolates, treat…… Diary, pen…………….. You
can give whatever you like.
• But never forget to say ‘Thank You’
• Do something else from your heart and share your idea with us
