The document discusses the objectives and functions of the CEIN data management server (DMS) including knowledge base creation, data repository, document archiving, data and document sharing, and public access to CEIN data. The DMS provides file versioning, data security, workflows for uploading, reviewing and approving data/documents, and linking of files through metadata. It enables data/document sharing, advanced search capability, collaboration features, and secure file versioning and workflows to ensure data quality. The DMS is web-accessible with automated tracking and approval of uploaded files and can automate data/document downloading to interface with modeling tools.
