Around my previous videos (which you will observe by clicking on my YouTube! ), I discussed the way to get motivated to lose weight. I also talk regarding the 3 questions you have to ask yourself before starting ANY fitness routine.
This similarly applies when one is thinking about weight loss as any primary goal. I will review those questions after which go deeper into the weight-loss dilema.
Too often we do things for the reason that the “herd” is doing it….. or because we have been guilted into doing some thing. Fitness and health is usually an individual decision that only you can decide your WHY for performing it. It has to become about you, not somebody else. I have all my clients write the response to this question on paper BEFORE we begin almost any exercise program or analysis.

In my previous videos (which you can see by clicking
on my YouTube!), I discussed how to get motivated
to lose weight. I also talk about the 3 questions you
need to ask yourself before starting ANY fitness
routine.
The same applies when one is looking at weight loss
as a primary goal. I will review those questions and
then go deeper into the weight loss dilema.
3 Questions You Need To Ask
Yourself……
The first question an individual needs to ask themselves is why they even want to begin on a journey
towards a healthier lifestyle. It may seem obvious, but whether you are trying to learn how to get motivated
to lose weight, or you are trying to get in shape for the summer coming up, that question is HUGE!
Too often we do things because the “herd” is doing it…..or because we are guilted into doing something.
Fitness and health is an individual decision that only YOU can decide your WHY for doing it. It has to be
about you, not someone else. I have all my clients write the answer to this question on paper BEFORE we
begin any kind of exercise program or assessment.
Secondly, how much time are you willing to commit to your healthier lifestyle? We know there are 24 hours
in the day and we know that most people work 8 hours a day. Add in family time and other commitments,
and we seem to have used most of the day! Truth be told though, it only takes about 45 minutes 3 to 5
times per week to get started on a consistent, results oriented program. Baby steps!
And the last question I have my clients ask is “What does it look like for you to be DOING your healthier
lifestyle change”? In other words, VISUALIZE not only what you want to look and feel like, but see yourself
going to the gym 3 days a week…..see yourself doing your leg routine, your upper body
exercises……VISUALIZE and see yourself achieving greatness!
I have worked with athletes for over 30 years and the number one thing we do is SEE,BELIEVE,
ACHIEVE! You have to see yourself being successful before you can actually go out and do it!
See How To Get Yourself Motivated To Lose Weight!
If your primary goal is weight loss, then you need to apply the same 3 questions and ask yourself WHY
you want to lose weight, how much time do you have to dedicate to this goal, and how does it look to you
2. while you are trying to accomplish this goal, and what will it look like when you meet your goal.
Once you learn how to get motivated to lose weight, it will carry over to ALL phases of your exercise
routine…….nutritional planning, positive mindset, better attitude about yourself and those around you!
Along with the 3 questions you need to ask yourself, you also need to know that it is a daily, small steps
approach you need to take. You didn’t get out of shape in 3 months, so chances are that you will not reach
all of your goals in that amount of time. Use common sense and do the little things daily to build upon
those habits that will make you successful.
In Conclusion……
Write down the answers to the 3 questions above. Keep them in a safe place. Your WHY can change,
and that’s okay. The key is to build upon these questions and continue to add to them……become good at
self-reflection and goal setting.
