2. Global warming
• Global Warming is a major problem
which our environment faces today
terribly. This global warming is caused
due to Greenhouse Effect. The green
house effect is a condition in which
Earth’s heat trapping increases more
from the normal levels.
3. Effects of Global warming
• Ice is melting worldwide, especially at the Earth’s
poles. This includes mountain glaciers, ice sheets
covering West Antarctica and Greenland, and
Arctic sea ice.
• Sea level rise became faster over the last century.
• Floods and droughts will become more common.
Rainfall in Ethiopia, where droughts are already
common, could decline by 10 percent over the next
50 years.
4. Causes of Global Warming
• The main reason behind global
warming is the increase in the
concentration of green house gases
in the atmosphere due to green
house effect.
• It is also due to harmful gases which
come out from the factories.
6. Green House effect
• The greenhouse effect is a process
by which thermal radiation from a
planetary surface is absorbed by
atmospheric green house gases, and
is re-radiated in all directions.
