Introduction
The Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) is
a many controlled vocabularies in the biomedical sciences
created 1986. It provides a mapping structure among these
vocabularies and allows one to translate among the
various terminology systems; it may also be viewed as a
comprehensive thesaurus and ontology of biomedical
concepts. UMLS further provides facilities for natural
language processing. It is intended to be used mainly by
developers of systems in medical informatics.

Nous avons participé à la campagne d'évaluation « Living Lab for Information Retrieval » qui proposait une tâche de recherche de produits évaluée par des utilisateurs réels lors de scénarios de recherche réelle sur un site de e-commerce. L’évaluation expérimentale a montré des résultats prometteurs de notre modèle. Dans ce papier, nous proposons une analyse des fichiers logs issus de notre modèle afin d'identifier des facteurs d’efficacité liés à la requête et aux produits. L'objectif de cette étude est d'ouvrir des pistes de recherche pour la formalisation de modèles de recherche de produits. E-commerce product retrieval aims to provide a quick and efficient access to products that fit user’s needs and preferences among a tail of similar or closely related products. We participated to the ``Living Lab for Information Retrieval'' evaluation campaign devoted to a product search task in which real users evaluated participants' retrieval models in real search scenarios on e-commerce websites. The experimental evaluation has shown encouraging results for our proposed model. In this paper, we conduct an analysis of users' feeadback with respect to the clicks obtained by our model. The goal of the paper is therefore to identify the effectiveness factors underlying the user's queries and the retrieved products in order to open perspectives in the formalization of product search models.

INTRODUCTION TO INFORMATION RETRIEVAL This lecture will introduce the information retrieval problem, introduce the terminology related to IR, and provide a history of IR. In particular, the history of the web and its impact on IR will be discussed. Special attention and emphasis will be given to the concept of relevance in IR and the critical role it has played in the development of the subject. The lecture will end with a conceptual explanation of the IR process, and its relationships with other domains as well as current research developments. INFORMATION RETRIEVAL MODELS This lecture will present the models that have been used to rank documents according to their estimated relevance to user given queries, where the most relevant documents are shown ahead to those less relevant. Many of these models form the basis for many of the ranking algorithms used in many of past and today’s search applications. The lecture will describe models of IR such as Boolean retrieval, vector space, probabilistic retrieval, language models, and logical models. Relevance feedback, a technique that either implicitly or explicitly modifies user queries in light of their interaction with retrieval results, will also be discussed, as this is particularly relevant to web search and personalization.

Nous présentons dans cet article une analyse exploratoire dans l’objectif d’identifier les patrons de collaboration au sein des réseaux sociaux pour l’accès à l’information. Nous nous focalisons sur le cas de la gestion de crise au travers de la plateforme sociale Twitter. Nous nous appuyons ainsi sur deux types de crises : une catastrophe naturelle (l’ouragan Sandy) et une crise sanitaire (Ebola). Nous proposons une méthodologie en trois étapes qui permet 1) d’analyser les structures de collaboration, 2) d’identifier les thématiques de collaboration et 3) de présenter les réseaux latents de collaboration sur l’ensemble du réseau. Les résultats montrent paradoxalement que le périmètre de la collaboration est réduit, que les sujets sousjacents sont diversifiés et impliquent des utilisateurs qui peuvent être à l’interface de différents sujets.

In the medical field, scientific articles represent a very important source of knowledge for researchers of this domain. But due to the large volume of scientific articles published on the web, an efficient detection and use of this knowledge is quite a difficult task. In this paper, we propose our contribution for conceptual indexing of medical articles by using the MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) thesaurus. With this in mind, we propose a tool for indexing medical articles called BIOINSY (BIOmedical Indexing SYstem) which uses a language model for selecting the best representative descriptors for each document. The proposed indexing approach was evaluated by intensive experiments. These experiments were conducted on document test collections of real world clinical extracted from scientific collections, namely PUBMED and CLEF. The results generated by these experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our indexing approach

Most of the existing semantic similarity measures that use ontology structure as their primary source can measure semantic similarity between concepts/classes using single ontology. The ontology-based semantic similarity techniques such as structure-based semantic similarity techniques (Path Length Measure, Wu and Palmer’s Measure, and Leacock and Chodorow’s measure), information content-based similarity techniques (Resnik’s measure, Lin’s measure), and biomedical domain ontology techniques (Al-Mubaid and Nguyen’s measure (SimDist)) were evaluated relative to human experts’ ratings, and compared on sets of concepts using the ICD-10 “V1.0” terminology within the UMLS. The experimental results validate the efficiency of the SemDist technique in single ontology, and demonstrate that SemDist semantic similarity techniques, compared with the existing techniques, gives the best overall results of correlation with experts’ ratings.

Ontology is a representation term used to describe and represent a domain of knowledge. Manually ontology development is currently considered complex, requiring a lot of time and effort. This research was proposed to develop methods to build automatic domain ontology bilingual in Indonesian and English by using corpus and ontology design patterns (ODPs) in tuberculosis disease. In this study, the methods used were to combine ontology learning from text and ontology design patterns to decrease the role of expert knowledge. The methods in this research consist of six stages are term and relation extraction, matching with Tuberculosis glossary, matching with ODPs, score computation similarity term and relations with ODPs, ontology building and ontology evaluation. The results of ontology construction were 362 terms and 44 relations with 260 terms were added. The calculation accuracy of ontology construction was 71%. Ontology construction had higher complexity and shorter time as well as decreases the role of the expert knowledge which proof that the automatic ontology evaluation is better than manual ontology construction.

In this paper, we investigate to measure semantic similarity between two terms within single ontology or multiple ontologies in ICD-10 “V1.0” as primary source, and compare my results to human experts score by correlation coefficient.

Large Vocabulary Continuous Speech Recognition (LVCSR), which is characterized by a high variability of the speech, is the most challenging task in automatic speech recognition (ASR). Believing that the evaluation of ASR systems on relevant and common speech corpora is one of the key factors that help accelerating research, we present, in this paper, a benchmark comparison of the performances of the current state-of-the-art LVCSR systems over different speech recognition tasks. Furthermore, we put objectively into evidence the best performing technologies and the best accuracy achieved so far in each task. The benchmarks have shown that the Deep Neural Networks and Convolutional Neural Networks have proven their efﬁciency on several LVCSR tasks by outperforming the traditional Hidden Markov Models and Guaussian Mixture Models. They have also shown that despite the satisfying performances in some LVCSR tasks, the problem of large-vocabulary speech recognition is far from being solved in some others, where more research efforts are still needed.

Context. WASP-76 b has been a recurrent subject of study since the detection of a signature in high-resolution transit spectroscopy data indicating an asymmetry between the two limbs of the planet. The existence of this asymmetric signature has been confirmed by multiple studies, but its physical origin is still under debate. In addition, it contrasts with the absence of asymmetry reported in the infrared (IR) phase curve. Aims. We provide a more comprehensive dataset of WASP-76 b with the goal of drawing a complete view of the physical processes at work in this atmosphere. In particular, we attempt to reconcile visible high-resolution transit spectroscopy data and IR broadband phase curves. Methods. We gathered 3 phase curves, 20 occultations, and 6 transits for WASP-76 b in the visible with the CHEOPS space telescope. We also report the analysis of three unpublished sectors observed by the TESS space telescope (also in the visible), which represents 34 phase curves. Results. WASP-76 b displays an occultation of 260±11 and 152±10 ppm in TESS and CHEOPS bandpasses respectively. Depending on the composition assumed for the atmosphere and the data reduction used for the IR data, we derived geometric albedo estimates that range from 0.05 ± 0.023 to 0.146 ± 0.013 and from <0.13 to 0.189 ± 0.017 in the CHEOPS and TESS bandpasses, respectively. As expected from the IR phase curves, a low-order model of the phase curves does not yield any detectable asymmetry in the visible either. However, an empirical model allowing for sharper phase curve variations offers a hint of a flux excess before the occultation, with an amplitude of ∼40 ppm, an orbital offset of ∼−30◦ , and a width of ∼20◦ . We also constrained the orbital eccentricity of WASP-76 b to a value lower than 0.0067, with a 99.7% confidence level. This result contradicts earlier proposed scenarios aimed at explaining the asymmetry observed in high-resolution transit spectroscopy. Conclusions. In light of these findings, we hypothesise that WASP-76 b could have night-side clouds that extend predominantly towards its eastern limb. At this limb, the clouds would be associated with spherical droplets or spherically shaped aerosols of an unknown species, which would be responsible for a glory effect in the visible phase curves.

Theoretical predictions and observational data indicate a class of sub-Neptune exoplanets may have water-rich interiors covered by hydrogen-dominated atmospheres. Provided suitable climate conditions, such planets could host surface liquid oceans. Motivated by recent JWST observations of K2-18 b, we self-consistently model the photochemistry and potential detectability of biogenic sulfur gases in the atmospheres of temperate sub-Neptune waterworlds for the first time. On Earth today, organic sulfur compounds produced by marine biota are rapidly destroyed by photochemical processes before they can accumulate to significant levels. Domagal-Goldman et al. suggest that detectable biogenic sulfur signatures could emerge in Archean-like atmospheres with higher biological production or low UV flux. In this study, we explore biogenic sulfur across a wide range of biological fluxes and stellar UV environments. Critically, the main photochemical sinks are absent on the nightside of tidally locked planets. To address this, we further perform experiments with a 3D general circulation model and a 2D photochemical model (VULCAN 2D) to simulate the global distribution of biogenic gases to investigate their terminator concentrations as seen via transmission spectroscopy. Our models indicate that biogenic sulfur gases can rise to potentially detectable levels on hydrogen-rich water worlds, but only for enhanced global biosulfur flux (20 times modern Earth’s flux). We find that it is challenging to identify DMS at 3.4 μm where it strongly overlaps with CH4, whereas it is more plausible to detect DMS and companion byproducts, ethylene (C2H4) and ethane (C2H6), in the mid-infrared between 9 and 13 μm. Ultrasound color Doppler imaging has been routinely used for the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, enabling real-time flow visualization through the Doppler effect. Yet, its inability to provide true flow velocity vectors due to its one-dimensional detection limits its efficacy. To overcome this limitation, various VFI schemes, including multi-angle beams, speckle tracking, and transverse oscillation, have been explored, with some already available commercially. However, many of these methods still rely on autocorrelation, which poses inherent issues such as underestimation, aliasing, and the need for large ensemble sizes. Conversely, speckle-tracking-based VFI enables lateral velocity estimation but suffers from significantly lower accuracy compared to axial velocity measurements. To address these challenges, we have presented a speckle-tracking-based VFI approach utilizing multi-angle ultrafast plane wave imaging. Our approach involves estimating axial velocity components projected onto individual steered plane waves, which are then combined to derive the velocity vector. Additionally, we've introduced a VFI visualization technique with high spatial and temporal resolutions capable of tracking flow particle trajectories. Simulation and flow phantom experiments demonstrate that the proposed VFI method outperforms both speckle-tracking-based VFI and autocorrelation VFI counterparts by at least a factor of three. Furthermore, in vivo measurements on carotid arteries using the Prodigy ultrasound scanner demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach compared to existing methods, providing a more robust imaging tool for hemodynamic studies. 4. Introduction The Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) is a many controlled vocabularies in the biomedical sciences created 1986. It provides a mapping structure among these vocabularies and allows one to translate among the various terminology systems; it may also be viewed as a comprehensive thesaurus and ontology of biomedical concepts.
