Most ambitious project of Maharashtra for holistic development of Vidarbha region, encompassing upgradation
of existing Nagpur Airport in to Multi-modal International Hub Airport along with a huge Special Economic

Domestic, well connected with about 42 domestic
flights
• Total 160 trains stops out of these 65 daily trains
and 26 terminate/originate @ Nagpur carry about
1.5 lac passengers
• Nagpur Metro commenced preliminary
construction work ( two phases) with an
envisaged investment of about 8200 crores for 45
kms stretch. The termination station @ MIHAN.
• Major roadways NH 7, NH 6 and 69 pass through
Nagpur connecting well across the country
• Land allotted to Container Corporation of India,
TCI and Gati for logistic operation
• Development Commissioner, Excise and Customs

SEZ Conditions
1.To achieve positive net foreign exchange earning (NFE) !
2.To provide periodic reports to the Development Commissioner & Zone Customs. !
3.To execute a bond cum Legal Undertaking with the Zone Customs for their operation in the SEZ. !
4. Any company set up with FDI has to be incorporated under the Indian Companies Act with the
Registrar of
Companies for undertaking Indian operations.
5.To fulfill the environmental and pollution control norms.
The Letter of Approval (LoA):
1 Specifies items of Manufacture, projected annual export, etc.
2 Entrepreneur should hold LoA to start unit in SEZ.
3 Area should be demarcated
4 Authorized activities should commence within one year from issue of LOA.
5.Extension available for a period not exceeding two years for valid reasons.
6. Construed as a license and valid for five years from date of commencement of authorized
operations.
7. Extension available for further five years by the DC
Nagpur Local Situation/ Environment
Nagpur
• Central location in the Indian sub-continent and strategic place on
International aviation routes – an ideal aviation hub
• The second Capital of Maharashtra, has a population of over 5
million
• Nagpur has tropical wet and dry climate with annual rainfall of
1200 mm (47.44 inches) during monsoon from June to Sept.
Highest rainfall recorded was 304 mm. Summers are extremely
hot from Mar to June, May being hottest winter temperature
drop below 10 C. The highest recorded temperature was 47.9 C
was lowest 3.9C.
