Various types of camera distributed in the city can be built as a smart surveillance net. By the use of
AI and big data technology, the connected cameras can work together to dig out valuable
information, such as appearance characteristics, person trajectory, abnormal behavior.

The panoramic surveillance achieves the omni-directional monitoring through the panoramic
cameras. Generally, more than one traditional cameras are needed in the crucial positions, because
of the limited perspective. It will virtually increase the cost of the solution. The panoramic camera
has no blind spots and it can cover multiple areas, dramatically improving the monitoring efficiency.

Structured video analysis system uses deep learning to achieve fine description of persons,
vehicles and other targets. Based on the structured description of video content, the police can
search a person/vehicle in gallery, track their trajectory, and find the target on the blacklist. This
system greatly improves the efficiency of information retrieval in a mass of video data.

20. Scalable User Assignment Solution for Smart Grid
User and power station distribution
By readjusting the topology of the smart grid, the following problems can be
addressed:
p Long-distance user coverage problem
p Over- and under-supplied power substations.
Results demonstrate that our solution can achieve 20%–65% reduction on the
maximum substation utilization and 2 to 3.7 times reduction on total transmission loss
over other baseline methods.

The video data generated from the bus CCTV system can be analyzed to identify current
seat occupancy and thereby the location of available seats. The information is also useful
for transport operators to know the number of persons on the buses and supply more
services.
