Research Design:
Descriptive Method has been used in this project.
Data Collection Method:
Secondary Data Collection - Secondary data on company information would be collected from the
internet. It is done by searching related articles and journals and finding out relative information on the
topic.
Limitations:
As this is a country report specifically to be submitted in the USA therefore it is time bound which is 3
months and this is very little time for successfully coming to a perfect conclusion.
Most of the data found and analyzed is secondary data which can be or cannot be 100% factual.
7. To study Operational Work Aspects of both companies.
To study the marketing mix strategies of both the companies.
Also a SWOT analysis of the both the companies with the STP analysis.
8. Operational Aspect of Blue Dart
The Information Technology industry is, perhaps, typical of the changing and escalating logistic
demands of various industries today, irrespective of their category as 'old' or 'new' economy. In
the IT industry, the difference between success and failure is closely linked to the supply/value
chain integration, of which there are two distinct processes:
1. The delivery of goods to the customer in the most reliable transit period (and preferably the shortest)
possible. 'Reliable' alludes to a certain guaranteed transit time for packages to reach customers or the response
that organisations need in the event of any exceptions.
2. The reverse flow of acknowledged, signed delivery records without which, in many cases, recovery of bills
are virtually impossible. Especially so in the case of companies placing multi-location orders that could cover
hundreds of cities. The task for the supplier is staggering - plan logistics for deliveries to all these locations,
and hope for 100% of the delivery records to be returned before bills can be submitted to the customer. In most
IT companies, the role of 'logistics' or 'fulfillment' is key.
With organisations moving towards close to perfect standards like Six Sigma, interaction with
logistics suppliers has taken on a critical role moving up sometimes to the level of the CEO of the
organisation.
9. Operational Aspect of Blue Dart (Contd.)
Blue Dart Express Limited applied and found solutions to these critical demands much before other players
could even recognize their need. Through its exceptional people processes, superior technology, and stress on
quality systems over the last, almost two decades now, Blue Dart was quick to fulfill these needs:
The country's most reliable air and surface network offers a pre-determined delivery schedule with close to 100%
accuracy.
Blue Dart offers the country's most comprehensive communications technology and customer software to support
critical supply-chain distribution demands.
The country's only express service provider with a dedicated fleet of five freighters (five Boeing 757s) ensures that
packages are flown to their destinations overnight.
Blue Dart not only handles large volumes and oversize packages overnight - it also provides the industry with status of
their shipments and retrieves such records as are necessary for billing.

Although, the freight rates have shown a remarkable
increase, the company has kept its rates mostly
unchanged.
In some countries, it has kept a flexible pricing policy
such as in China, in order to make inroads in the new

for the promotion of FedEx. This ad known as “Fast

25. Conclusion and Recommendations
FedEx has some benefits provided to the business organisations with something called as FedEx
Fulfillment Services where you can extend you day even after your business working hours they are
operating 24 hours with its global distribution centers.
Similar to Blue Dart’s Express Limited service, FedEx has Critical Inventory logistics with more
benefits than Blue Dart.
Blue Dart is only known to the Southern Asia part as such it should start concentrating on its global
presence. It should also focus on the promotion aspect as Blue dart has invested less in in advertising.
The pricing policy of both the companies is different where Blue Dart prices its products for all
customers having varied services for different customer needs and FedEx has positioned its brand as a
premium brand in most of the countries.
FedEx Express offers a range of domestic and international shipping services for delivery of packages and freight. FedEx Ground provides business and residential money-back guaranteed ground package delivery services. FedEx Freight offers less-than-truckload (LTL) freight services. FedEx Services provides FedEx’s other companies with sales, marketing, information technology, communications, customer service and certain other back-office support.
FedEx Corporation provides customers and businesses worldwide with a broad portfolio of transportation, e-commerce and business services. With annual revenues of $45 billion, the company offers integrated business applications through operating companies competing collectively and managed collaboratively, under the respected FedEx brand. Consistently ranked among the world's most admired and trusted employers, FedEx inspires its more than 300,000 team members to remain "absolutely, positively" focused on safety, the highest ethical and professional standards and the needs of their customers and communities
Descriptive research design is a type of research method that is used when one wants to get information on the current status of an object. It is used to describe what is in existence in respect to conditions or variables that are found in a given situation.
The research of both companies would be purely based on secondary data. Secondary data on company information would be collected from the internet. It is done by searching related articles and journals and finding out relative information on the topic.
The IT industry could plan its production with precision and avoid expensive inventory build-up.
These freighters offer capacity and volumes not available with any other carrier in the domestic air space.
The entire cycle has been considerably shortened, enabling the industry to achieve healthy bottom lines.
