The telephone was invented in 1854.

The telephone was invented by Antonio Meucci, but was patented by
Alexander Graham Bell.

3. 2. HOW DOES IT WORK?
The telephone consists of two circuits that work together:
To talk circuit and the dial circuit. Basically what the phone does is transform
sound into electrical signals that are them transported by cables to the other
person’s phone.

When telephones did not exist, people communicated through:
a) Fire signs.
b) Postcards.
c) Carrier pigeons.
d) Telegrams.
e) Messages in the bottle.
f) Wild noises.
g) Pay phone.

5. 4. HOW HAS THIS INVENTION CHANGED THROUGH HISTORY?
The phone has changed a lot throughout history, to the point of not weighing so
much, not being connected to a cable network, its shape, being portable, having
many more functions such as: having entertainment applications or to obtain
information , to be able to send text message and to have a photo camera.

Antonio Meucci built the telephone to connect his office with his bedroom and thus
be able to speak with his wife, who was immobilized in bed due to an illness.
