Dionysos as a peaceful, benevolent and joyful figure. I was struck by the calm peacefulness he
embodied in The Hope Dionysos and the happiness he shared on the Triumph of Dionysos and the
Seasons Sarcophagus. Though there are many elements to compare and contrast, my analysis will
show that both pieces are tributes and representations of Dionysos meaning and purpose in Roman
art. The Hope Dionysos, displayed in the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Greek and Roman Art
gallery, depicts Dionysos standing and leaning with one arm on a smaller female figure that is
believed to Spes, the personification of hope. He is shown without his usual attributes of a drinking
cup or a pinecone topped staff, and both the handat his side and the hand resting on Spes and
reaching out towards the viewer are empty. Spes, however, holds what appears to be a lotus flower

From a musical version, to countless interpretations of the plot in movies and television shows, the
story is one which is almost universally recognizable, if not necessarily in its original context. The
aim of this production will be to stay true to the original play, while transferring it into a modern
setting. This will highlight the many ways in which it is still thoroughly relevant to modern
audiences, particularly in reference to the implicit points made about the treatment of women, and
those who are on the lower levels of society.
While the play itself may seem somewhat dated, seeming to be rooted in social hierarchies which
are obsolete, specifically in Ireland, the themes it deals with are as relevant today as they were

The Road Home Chapter Summaries
In the beginning of the book the reader is introduced to Amy and Dan Cahill. The children are in
a car on the way to their recently deceased grandmother s property. Upon their arrival they are
greeted by all branches of the family, they are all there for the reading of Amy and Dan s
grandmother s will. To everyone s surprise instead of all being given different sums of money or
property they are offered one million dollars or a single clue that will render them the most

library that holds many letters written by Ben Franklin and scan them with the black light. A
librarian tells the children that the letters have already been scanned but informs them of a
museum that also has some of Ben s letters. They head to the museum where they see the man in
black , to escape the man they run into a separate room ; which conveniently is the room that
stores Ben s letters. They scan a few of the documents and as they find a clue their cousins the
Sterlings sneak up behind them and capture an image of the clue. Dan and Amy warn the Sterlings
about the man in black , however they chose not to listen and as they left the room an explosion
shook the museum . Dan and Amy ran out of the museum where Nellie is nervously waiting for
them and demands an explanation before she will take them any further. Amy informs Nellie that
