Brutus betrayed Caesar because he was persuaded by Cassius and others that Caesar's ambition would damage the Roman Republic. While Brutus genuinely believed he was acting for Rome's good, his failure to independently verify the accusations against Caesar and his willingness to assassinate a friend based on the words of others shows that he did not critically examine the situation and was swayed by political manipulation. Here are a few key points opposing the legalization of marijuana:
- Legalizing marijuana could increase youth access and use. Easier access through legalization may expose more young people to the drug and increase underage use and abuse. Strict regulation would be needed to prevent youth access.
- Health risks are a concern. Marijuana has been shown to have negative health effects, especially for young/developing brains. Legalization may normalize use and minimize perceived risks, leading to greater health problems down the road. More research is still needed on long-term impacts.
- Legalization could increase societal costs. Wider marijuana use may increase healthcare costs, lost productivity, and other societal burdens from abuse and addiction

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

2. Fundamental Elements Of The Patient-Physician Relationship
The Hippocratic Oath puts forth a set of moral codes that require the doctor to put aside their potential
desire for being the smartest person in the room or the most successful surgeon, but instead to focus
on getting that one patient that is in front of them better, and nothing else. This can be seen easily
through the first set of statements in the oath. In a modern version of the oath provided by pbs.org, it is
clear to see these set of moral codes, I will respect the hard won scientific gains of those physicians in
whose steps I walk, I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, I will not
be ashamed to say I know not, nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are
needed for a patient s recovery (Lecture Notes) These three examples alone show, clearly, that the
doctor is supposed to put aside everything and do everything that they can to heal the patient. These
set of moral codes fit in well with the codes that apply to the power of the patient that are seen in
Fundamental Elements of the Patient Physician Relationship. In the Fundamental Elements of the
Patient Physician Relationship it is clear that although the operating room might be the domain where
the doctor or surgeon feels like they are in charge, really, the patient s still in charge. The doctor or
surgeon is really only a pawn that is used in whatever way the patient wants. Almost all of the
decisions are still up to the patient, and

However, as of this writing, there is a legislative bill in development that in the distant future, will

In fact, if the ban is proposed, they can just walk into a local movie theater buy some popcorn. Instead
of watching a movie, which anybody that buys popcorn would usually do, the students can just walk
outside, and eat the popcorn outside near their college. The NYPD states that they say that they will
ban on college city dorms. It didn t state off campus apartments or any other place that isn t college, so
it defeats the purpose as college students will find another way to get popcorn. Alongside the location
problem, another conundrum of this ban will arise. The second problem is that since the popcorn ban
is in dorms, how are they going to enforce them? Most law officers will help train the RAs in the
dorms and residence halls. If passed, the undeniable truth is that they will teach them how to deal with
people having popcorn, but how much are they going to trust them? If this goes into effect, a possible
opposite effect will happen. Due to RAs having classes alongside the college students living in the
dorms. Officers can t keep an eye on RAs because they are diligent with their classwork throughout
the day. Alongside this, authorities also can t come into the dorms to search popcorns if the RAs are
unreachable without a warrant and having the privacy of students taken away due to random search
and seizure. However, one might argue that the NYPD may also train staff inside the residence halls to

6. The Negative Outcomes of Homeschooling
Many people think that homeschooling is a better way to educate their children, but they never stop
and think about the negative outcomes it can bring. Homeschooling has a more negative outcome than
public or private schooling. This is because in many cases parents do not have enough knowledge
about a certain subject or have enough time to home school their children. Another reason why
homeschooling is not the best choice is because children would not grow up as social as other kids
who attend a public or private school. Last but not least, one more reason is the high cost of
homeschooling. These are only some reasons why homeschooling is not a healthy choice for all the
children. Parents have a huge responsibility when they make the tough decision to home school their
children. This is not a simple job for parents to decide whether or not to home school. When parents
make a decision to home school their children, they have to keep in mind that it takes a large amount
of time as well as dedication on both sides. This is because parents have to be sure that their children
are doing their work and not gazing off. Children need to have in mind that they would have to
manage how to schedule their timing correctly. In addition, this might make it harder to manage work
and other household tasks for parents. They have to not only be in charge of their children and how
they re doing their work but also they have to be responsible for their jobs and all the households

Corporations stepping into nonprofits may cause mistrust with their patrons, a possible misdirection of

Introduction
The goal of our research paper is to provide a concise analysis on data security and privacy protection
issues pertaining to data and databases as well as the current advancement/ breakthrough made and
achieved in regards to database security and privacy concerns. We will also discuss in this paper some
current solutions in the security market. First, we looked at the a trusted database model which makes
it possible to shield database with absolute secrecy to benefit trusted equipment presented on the side

a simple device.
Also, we looked into the problem of Enterprise Search Engines, How it gives out detailed aggregate
information about the enterprise which is a bridge in privacy and this is a big concern. Also review the
new technique that was proposed and used in analyzing the problem by suppressing sensitive
aggregate for enterprise search and still keeping it originality in answering users.
We will use another technique which is encrypting data with different encryption keys assigned to
each group this makes a challenge which is we would like to execute queries without revealing
information on the server mean while doing less computations on the client, some techniques
minimize the revealed information on the server and amount of computations on the client. We also

business entity is not only the identity of the company you are creating, but also determines the type of
legal structure your new business will have. This decision is complicated, and possibly the most
important item you will decide when you start a new business venture. There is no single type of
entity that is better than the rest. Your choice will have to be made based upon your requirements and
future desires. There are five commonly used business entities; partnerships, sole proprietorship, C

Advocates of the parliamentary form of government suggested a few competitive strengths of this
system of government. Since it has gained a stable parliamentary majority, the government is able to
smoothly process its legislative project. In addition, the government is adequately furnished that it
could still choose to adopt measures designed to support the national interests while many strong
sectional groups oppose such measures (Dyck, 2012). The prime minister is the leader of this type of
government, who is obliged to be responsive to all its people s demands. Also, the people have the
right to vote and replace the prime minister due to any incompetency of governance that does not
address and fulfill their desires. This is known as the non confidence vote; the government may be
removed when it has lost confidence in the parliament, and cause the head of state to resign a new
government (Dyck, 2012). An example of such measure occurred in Britain on March 28th, 1979.
When James Callaghan s labour government was defeated in the House of Commons just by one vote,
it was forced into an early election that was won by the opposition leader Margaret Thatcher (Dyck,
2012). In this case, it can avoid or at least reduce the period of legislative gridlock, because of its

16. Manufacturing Industry Of Chicago And Its Future
Until 19th century, in an industry, almost all the projects were handled by engineers themselves.
Halfway through the 20th century, project management evolved as a discipline in the field of
engineering, construction, manufacturing and defense. As industrial evolution took place complexity
of the projects undertaken by industry increased and organizations began applying management tools
and techniques to plan these complex projects. Nowadays, from past 30 40 years, project management
has been integral part of almost every industry. Be it a pharmaceutical, IT, healthcare or government
agency; project management thrives in it. Hence surely, it has changed the face of industrial project in
terms of planning, organizing and controlling the resources to achieve the desired goals. And it will
continue to do so in future. The article supports the claim that industrial project management has
changed over the years and will evolve more and more in the future also.
The Chicago Tribune article considers manufacturing industry of Chicago and its future in today s

17. Critical Evaluation Of Critical Analysis Essay
As described by Crowe and O Malley (2006) Critical reflection is the central element that is required
for critical thinking. This process that combines theory with practice facilitates a reasoning to put into
practices, to meet the consumer s needs of mental health services. Hypothetically critical analysis
enables mental health nurses to challenge their own assumptions, values and beliefs, when sharing
their own knowledge and understandings when interfaced with the cultural norms of their clinical
practice.
The aim of this assignment is to critically reflect on a consumer when forming and maintaining a
dialogical relationship. Informed consent was negotiated with the consumer, confidentiality issues
were discussed. Informal meetings were arranged on the consumer s terms.

19. Aims And Objectives Of Employment Regulation
Activity 1
1.1 Explain the aims and objectives of employment regulation.
The aim of employment law regulation is to provide legal protection to employees and employers the
relationship between businesses.
Objectives of Employment Law:
Social justice is the distribution of difference in society and is based on equality and its opportunity.
Within the workplace, social justice also refers to access to rights and fairness.
Employee protection employment rights are designed to balance the expectations of the job with the
fair treatment of the employee doing it. Employee rights at work come from both as statutory rights
and his/her employment contract.
European law
As part of the European Union, the UK is a subject to European law, with European law having
authority and take the place of any domestic law. This means that domestic law should be done in the
same way with European law.
Most EU law is also introduced into UK law via statutes. European Union directive can be interpreted
into domestic law as it is less specific and most European Union influence on UK employment law
has been through directives.
The sources of employment law are:
Legislation
European law
Codes of practice regulations.
The main source of employment law is statutes:
Acts of Parliament = Equality Act 2010
Equal Opportunities legislation sets out that all employees should receive the same pay and conditions
for carrying out the same or approximately similar work.

21. The Uncommon Reader Analysis
The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett is an eye opener to many in the modern age as millennials
like myself who have dispersed of reading and have moved on to the modern age of technology. The
Uncommon Reader demonstrates how reading can attract many non readers and break certain
stereotypes toward reading. As someone who was an avid reader and has gradually left the books for
videos and social media. I hope to rediscover a connection with reading unlike the dying age of
readers in this era. Reading growing up has always fascinated me because with every book you never
know what to expect, further leading you to continue reading. Having this said, as time went on I grew
fonder of reading and started to explore many genres(fiction, nonfiction, fantasy). Books became a
world where I could escape and embody these characters who were facing many obstacles or
adventures. By reading The Uncommon Reader I surprisingly found myself reflecting the Queen, she
ultimately found herself disregarding the power of reading and soon turned out to become fond of it.
Even though the Queen led a life of royal responsibilities, through reading she gathered a new
perspective of the world. Having this said myself at a young age being only able to gather very
minimal experience from the world, reading allowed me to discover certain backgrounds that were
being conveyed from different points of view. Reading is more than just words on paper it is the idea

22. Comparing The Tolkien s The Hobbit
The contrast between different types of leadership appears in the chapter Flies and Spiders in J.R.R
Tolkien s The Hobbit. The chapter starts off with the group no longer having Gandalf lead them
through the perils that lie in the Mirkwood. Thorin helps lead the group past a deadly river that cannot
be touched and helps them until he is captured by elves. Bilbo battle spiders and saves the dwarves on
multiple occasions in Thorin s absence. In this chapter you see a new contrast in Throrin and
Company. No longer having Gandalf Thorin picked up the mantle of leadership and lead by command.
Bilbo then assumed the role of leadership in Thorins absence and lead by putting others first, putting
himself on the line. As the story progresses you have these two types of leadership contrasting
throughout the story. Ultimately in the end Bilbo s was of leadership proved to be better.
When entering the Mirkwood Gandalf left the group leaving Thorin to lead the group through the
woods. Thorin leads the group by command through Mirkwood usually delegating who should do
what in the group. As the group is trying to find their way across the river on pages 132 133 Thorin
takes command of the situation. Once the group had a solid plan Thorin delegates the order of travel

implemented changes to ensure they are effective and feasible to maintain, and we restructured work
duties and both tackle those tasks that have been identified as teamwork tasks . These are tasks that
either staff member can address as our schedule allows while both being aware that the task needs to

learned the staff had consistently struggled with obtaining feedback from providers which is mandated
by the program s federal regulations. Utilizing my clinical skills, relationship building skills, and

25. Person Centred Care
According to Bob Price, a nurse academic writing for the Nursing Standard in
2006, the term person centred care is used...to indicate a strong interest in the
patient s own experience of health, illness, injury or need. It infers that the nurse
works with the person s definition of the situation, as well as that presented through a
medical or other diagnosis . (pg. 49 56)
The notion of person centeredness has become well recognized within healthcare
and especially within Nursing (Binnie Tichen 1999, McCormack 2001,2003).
Person Centeredness is also ingrained in many policy initiatives within the UK (eg.
The National Service Framework for Older People, Department of Health 2001).

nurse patient communication is slightly different; nurse patient communication also

Communication both verbal and non verbal can have an effect on clients and the
relationship which they form with their nurse. Communication can either facilitate
the development of a relationship or create barriers (Stuart and Laraia, 2001). There
are many different forms of communication which nurses can use to help implement
person centred care such as verbal communication, non verbal communication,
attending behaviour and empathetic behaviour; Within this essay I will explore some

Verbal communication is essential when dealing with a patient; studies revealed
that many patients feel reassured when nurses use a personal approach whilst
communicating and also feel that it is important for nurses to talk to patients as
individuals. In order to promote care which is person centred nurses must also
refrain from making any assumptions about the patients care or needs (McCabe

various heuristics or methods that can speed up the decision making process of an organizations or the

To cite another instance, when the children were on the road, Dicey? Maybeth said. Yes, Maybeth,

[Maybeth said] What s wrong? Dicey almost laughed. What s right? is what she wanted to answer, but
she didn t speak. Never mind the way forward [on the road], you couldn t get without money and they

hardships, their hopelessness, and their poverty because nothing right is going on in their lives. On the
long road, you couldn t get money to buy food. That shows poverty. On the road, they have to walk a

31. The Adoption Of Autonomous Vehicles
2.1 Introduction
There are roughly 250 million registered motor vehicles in the United States (Blanco, 2010). This
corresponds to almost one vehicle for every citizen. According to the Federal
Highway Administration, the average American driver drives almost 40 miles every day (FHA, 2011).
Given how heavily vehicles are used today, especially in the United States, their replacement with
autonomous vehicles could easily have far reaching implications.
The adoption of autonomous vehicles into society could affect a multitude of issues.
Among these issues are safety, cost, productivity, legality, public opinion, and the environment. Each
will be touched upon in this section. It is important to have a general knowledge of these areas in
order to better understand the speed at which autonomous vehicles might be adopted.
We ve chosen these areas specifically because we expect them to be the biggest factors in the adoption
of autonomous vehicles. However, it s important to keep in mind that some of the technologies that
will be discussed are still being developed. Therefore the implications that are dependent on
technologies still being developed can be considered somewhat speculative.
2.2 Safety
One of the major incentives for developing autonomous vehicles is the potential impact on vehicle
safety. In 2009, there were 10.8 million motor vehicle accidents in the US, resulting in 35,900 deaths
(Census 2012). It s estimated that over 90% of all accidents are due to

Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known by the pseudonym Mark Twain, has been central to
American literature for over a century. His seemingly effortless diction accurately exemplified
America s southern culture. From his early experiences in journalism to his most famous fictional
works, Twain has remained relevant to American writing as well as pop culture. His iconic works are
timeless and have given inspiration the youth of America for decades. He distanced himself from

He was one of the first to descriptively verbalize southern speech in writing. Not only was it
uncommon for people of Twain s era to write in vernacular, it was new fangled for him to write about
the subject of vernacular itself. It is a difficult task to write about, much less in, a dialect to which one
is foreign without appearing foolish. Twain s ability to both with ease marked him as an authority on
the subject.
Thus, Twain s early experiences in life helped him to flesh out a well rounded vocabulary and sparked
his interests in adventure and traveling. Twain spent his boyhood in the riverside town of Hannibal,
Missouri where he, experienced the excitement of the colorful steamboats that docked at the town
wharf, bringing comedians, singers, gamblers, swindlers, slave dealers, and assorted other river
travelers (Gribben). His exposure to much of the world at a young age opened his eyes to people
groups, travel, and differences in dialect that would all become subject matter of his later writing.
Twain wrote in Life on the Mississippi that he became acquainted with all the different types of
human nature that are to be found in fiction, biography, or history while he worked as a steamboat
apprentice (128). The diverse people and places he met during his time on the river all became awe

Bilbray on the other hand is more convincing in his idea of amnesty . He claims it is the unclear

too agrees that current border circumstances are dangerous, as of August the murder of 72 illegal
immigrants who were seeking passage to the U.S. and on December 15 the murder of Border Patrol

Summary One/10 In her essay Why sexist language matters (Qualitative Sociology, 2002), Kleinman
argues that sexist language is a social problem because masculine generic language has many
stereotypically masculine terms and expressions that affecting ways that people are speaking that has
consequences and can be eliminated. One of the examples, is when masculine term is used in language
by many people to refer to women s occupation titles, like, chairman and postman. When women are
called chairman it makes women less in society than men. The demonstration that use of feminine
generic language could be used to refer to both women and men, such as, chairwoman, would hurt

personality. To study personality using this approach, psychologists read case studies or have
participants complete surveys. In the nomothetic approach, rather than focusing on the traits that can
be applied to a specific individual, the focus is on finding traits that can be applied to all people. There
are three approaches that are used, often in combination. The theoretical approach begins with a
theory, which is then used to determine which variables or traits are important. The lexical approach
starts with a lexical hypothesis, and is a good starting point for identifying important trait terms and
important individual differences. Lastly, the measurement approach starts with a diverse pool of
personality items and the goal is to identify major dimensions of personality. Factor analysis can be
used to group items together, determine what variables belong on the same group, and is helpful in
reducing a large assortment of diverse traits into smaller, useful

Essay 1 In Sherman Alexie s novel The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven shows the
struggles of daily Native American life, which is shown through the point of view of male character.
All though out the book the following three questions appear: What does it mean to live as an Indian
in this time? What does it mean to be an Indian man? and What does it mean to live on an Indian
reservation? Alexie uses literary devices such as point of view, imagery, characterization to make his
point that the conflict of being an Indian in the U.S. in these short stories using the following short
stories An Indian Education and Amusement . An Indian Education uses both imagery and
characterization to show us what the narrator is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We loaded dirty Joe into the last car and checked his pockets for anything potentially lethal. Nothing.
Sadie and I stood there watched dirty Joe ride... I looked around and saw a crowd had gathered and
joined in on the laughter (56). This shows how caught between the two world these characters are and
how they see themselves in white society. Twenty or thirty white faces, open mouths grown large and
deafening wide eyes turned toward Sadie and me. They were jury and judge for the twentieth century
fancydance of these court jesters who would pour Thunderbird wine into the Holy Grail (56). When
Victor realizes what is going, he comes to the realization that how all white people see Dirty Joe is
how they see all Indians, as a drunken group of people. They see Victor and Sadie as Dirty Joe. Dirty
Joe is the representation of all Indians. To get this point across Alexie uses vivid imagery and symbols
such as Thunderbird wine and the Holy Grail. Thunderbird wines is a cheap affordable wine and since
Indians live on a reservation it something they can afford to get drunk off of. The Holy Grail is usually
seen as a cup holding happiness and substance in abundance. What those two thing correlation is that
an Indians happiness s come from a cheap bottle of wine. But before the story is over Victor is
reminded that he seen as just as Dirty Joe is seen when he is chased down

the background of Neo Tokyo. The Neo Tokyo seems to be very flourishing and modern which is
similar with the blooming economy from 1986 to 1990 in Japan. However, the Neo Tokyo government

41. Multi Organizational And Inter Sector Coordination
Abstract: Coordination is when all or multiple agencies interact to achieve a common goal. The value
of agencies coordinating is key to overcome disasters more effectively. The main purpose of multi
organizational, intergovernmental, and inter sector coordination is to get better relationships between
agencies and to use resources wisely. The key for coordination to be achieved is when all agencies or
organizations have pre disaster ties, share accurate information in a timely manner, and work together
to meet the needs of emergency management.

Therefore, the importance of sharing and communicating information is key to facilitate coordination.
Purpose and Benefits of Coordination
The participation of diverse parties ensures access to important information, resources, and skills. The
emergency managers have to tasks. The tasks is the routine responsibilities of running a department
and the broader job of mustering the necessary political support to effect change (Waugh, 2007, p. 58).
The purpose of multi organizational, intergovernmental, and inter sector coordination in emergency
management is to help smooth the steps during disasters whether they are small or large.
For instance, one example of the purpose and benefits of multi organizational, intergovernmental, and
inter sector coordination in emergency management is the theory of intergovernmental. The
intergovernmental theory suggests that local governments should make and effort before and after
disasters occur because this can help minimize the situation by strains that inhibit integrated
policymaking and discourage coordinated disaster management.
If the intergovernmental theory is used the efforts could have conflict resolution, role clarification,
joint planning and training, mutual aid agreements, memorandums of understanding, and the
establishment of interoperable communications systems (Waugh, 2007, p. 59). The main purpose of
multi organizational,

Midterm Essay Passing, by Nella Larsen
Passing, by Nella Larsen is a novel all about pretending to be something that you are not. It is about
giving everyone the impression that everything is in order when in reality everything is falling apart.
Passing in this novel refers to the ability of a person to be classified as one thing, normally a social
group, while belonging to a different group. Passing is usually done to gain class or acceptance by
groups other than one s own. The primary focus of the novel is on racial passing which is the ability to
look white and belong to a white group when in reality the person is an African American in order to
gain privileges that were unavailable to them. Although racial passing is the main focus, another major
theme in this novel is sexual passing and identity. Sexual passing refers to a person s ability to be
judged or viewed as a heterosexual person but in reality they are homosexual or bisexual. This was a
masked theme in the novel because in the early 1900 s, homosexuality was not something that was
accepted. Larsen made it aware that these were real problems in those times without coming out
directly and saying it. The main plot of Passing focuses on two light skinned black women, Irene
Redfield and her old time friend Clare Kendry. Both women can pass as white women. Irene who is
married to a successful African American doctor, passes only when it is

43. Job By John Stump Analysis
Stump discusses the story of Job not to provide a theodicy or a defense for the issue of suffering, but
to interpret a specific solution to suffering as it pertains to Job and his circumstances. Stump observes
that contemporary interpreters often overlook the dialogue between God and Satan, believing it is not
philosophically or theologically significant. In contrast, Stump uses the interaction between God and
Satan as one of two main explanations for Job s suffering. The other explanation is derived from the
dialogue between Job and God. Upon close examination of both aspects of the book of Job, Stump
argues that the idea and mechanisms of divine providence become clearer. The first key line of the text
draws conclusions from the second person interactions between Job and God. From these interactions,
Stump claims:
If an innocent person suffers, then, it will be only because a good and loving God, engaged in second
person interactions with his creatures, can produce out of the suffering an outweighing good for that
person that is otherwise unavailable for him (191).
The second person interactions refer to Buber s concept of interpersonal interactions between two
individuals. This is also known as an I Thou relationship, and contrasts with the idea of an ... Show

It would seem to be most logical to tell Job that he is not suffering due to any actions he may have
committed, but instead God only allows Satan to know this. This seemingly odd decision is
rationalized by Stump s claim that Job s suffering was an act of love that Satan needed to experience
firsthand, because love that is given to an alienated person tempts, tugs, pushes that person to receive
it (214). Fundamentally, God was extending his love to Satan through this act in the hopes that it
would draw the two closer or at least prohibit further

44. The Uk Parliament Is Increasingly Dominated by the Executive
Parliament is increasingly dominated by the executive . Discuss [16]
The word parliament derives from a word loosely translated as to talk or to deliberate . The UK
Parliament consists officially of the two Houses of Parliament: the Lords and the Commons and the
monarch, which by convention, delegates his or her authority to a group of ministers known as the
executive. The role of parliament is mainly to legislate and to govern the United Kingdom through
elected representatives. However the executive has a special role over the legislatures and it has been
argued that the UK Parliament has become increasingly dominated by the executive.
The executive is made up of the Prime Minister (PM) acting in place on the monarch and a group of ...

If a member decides to vote against the party, sanctions can be imposed and in a serious situation
when a member rebels, the PM can dismiss or appoint the member to a different position. Therefore
the PM can ensure that the executive s priorities and views are expressed in the legislatures.
However the executive s control in this regard is not total. There have been headline grabbing notices
of member s rebelling against the government position and resigning their position. For example
Robin Cook, then leader of the Commons and labour MP resigned his post due to the government s
position on Iraq. More recently in March 2008, Brown s government saw rebellion and the opposition
saw resignations over the issue of the failure to implement a promised referendum on a new EU
reform treaty. As we can see the executive s dominance of the members of the legislature is not total
but rebellions are a rarity.
The power of the PM to appoint cabinet ministers allows him or her to shape policy and therefore
legislation. The Prime Minister appoints the speaker of the house and the Lord Chancellor among
others. In this way, the PM and appointees of the executive can have considerable sway over the
legislature. The Lord Chancellor serves as a leading figure in the House of Lords but also chairs and
attends executive meetings. Although the PM usually appoints ministers from his or her party and
those who whom he or she has a good accord with, this is not always the

45. Sugar And Acid Disorder Essay
Sugar and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Introduction
Sugar. What comes to mind when this word is heard? Candy? Juice? Close but not quite. Sugar is
contained in all of these but do you know what else has it? For example, starch, a carbohydrate found
primarily in plants, fruits, and vegetables, contains sugar. Starch is composed of glucose molecules.
Glucose links together using alpha glycosidic bonds to form starch. One of the main functions of
starches is to be used as an energy source. Didn t know that, huh? On another note, Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD, is a mental disorder characterized by inattentiveness, impulsive
behavior, and/or hyperactivity in young children. Many cases of ADHD are often misdiagnosed or
overlooked. There are many factors that need to be considered in order for someone to have ADHD.

Carbohydrates are one of the big four macromolecules. They are organic compounds often found in
food and living tissue. All carbohydrates consist of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Simple sugars,
known as monosaccharides, are the monomers of carbohydrates. This means that they are the building
blocks for all carbohydrates. Examples of monosaccharides include glucose, fructose, and galactose.
These sugars are combined to form disaccharides, or two sugars. Disaccharides form when two
monosaccharides bind using the process of dehydration synthesis. Examples of disaccharides are
sucrose, maltose, and lactose. The monomers of sucrose are glucose and fructose. The monomers of
maltose are glucose and glucose. The monomers of lactose are galactose and fructose. The binding of
multiple monosaccharides and disaccharides form polysaccharides. Polysaccharides are considered the
polymers of carbohydrates. Examples of polysaccharides include starch, cellulose, and

An impairment loss is equal to the excess of the carrying amount over the fair value of the asset. Thus,
once it is determined that carrying value will not be recovered, an impairment loss must be recognized
. For purposes of testing for recoverability and measuring an impairment loss, individual long lived
assets should be grouped with other assets forming the lowest level for which identifiable cash flows
are largely independent of those of the entity s other assets. Note, though, that, if an impairment loss is
recognized, it should be applied only to the long lived assets in the group that are covered by FASB
ASC 360 10 ; thus, other assets in the group are not affected but should, if necessary, be adjusted for
impairment in accordance with other applicable GAAP. As defined in FASB ASC 350 10: Goodwill
should be part of an asset group to be tested for impairment only if the group is itself a reporting unit
or includes such a unit . Note that when we want to evaluate or compute the implied goodwill or test
goodwill impairment, we should include the combined net assets of Plant 3 which includes property,
plant and equipment. 8A Impairment or Disposal of Long Lived Assets (WG amp;L) provided relevant

supporters, the patriots, they were not submissive to the Britain tyrannical reigning. However, there

the British for commercial and military purposes. But the delegates in the Second Continental
Congress, for example, John Dickson, George read, and many other colony representatives, gained an
opening in seceding from the British Crown. Since the American Revolution War already began
