What Is The Effect Of Sucrose Concentration On The Rate Of...
Conclusion:
The drawn hypothesis is accepted, or in other words supported by the collected data to a certain
extent. Both the raw data tables as well as the graphs show accuracy to a certain extent which goes to
show that there was error, however minimal. The hypothesis stated the the more hypertonic the
sucrose solution, the less increase in potato mass there will be. It even suggests that mass might
increase. The collected data shows, that the more hypotonic the solution, the bigger growth rate in the
potato masses. However as we get to the last 2 trials, where the solution was becoming more
hypertonic we can see the rate of growth drop, and decrease.
To wrap up the experiment, we can see that the trails that were done on each of the 5 different sucrose
concentrations were repeated for each concentration 5 times for higher ... Show more content on

Each performed trial was done by measuring the initial mass of the potato cylinder and after osmosis,
the conducted results show that the more hypertonic the sucrose solution, the higher the rate of
osmosis hence the decrease in mass. This is especially apparent in the concluding two trials, 4 and 5.
According to the osmosis theory as the concentration of the sucrose solution increases the particle s
water potential increases and becomes higher than the particles that are in the potato.
When looking at the acquired data we can say that the hypothesis was supported, hence showing that
as the concentration of sucrose increases the rate of osmosis decreases.
The standard deviation which is shown in the data table represents the reliability of the data that was
collected.
Evaluation:
During the experiment a wide range of errors occurred. Most considered to be uncontrollable hence,
qualifying as extraneous variables. The temperature of the surrounds was one, as the temperature
could have manipulated the results in a slight

Functionalism And Social Disorganization
What is functionalist? Functionalist is a type of phenomenon that creates a social order. This also
gives people some type of perpus in life and makes them want to contribute to society. Over time this
type of behavior become a pattern. Emile Durkheim was the one who came with this theory. What is
social disorganization? Social disorganization is when someone does not care about the rules and acts
a certain way. This could also be a group of people. Social disorganization could be seen as a type of
perspective on deviance and crime. Social disorganization is very common in lower class men because
they are less likely to do good in school. Functionalist is the compete opisit of social disorganization. I
say this because one of these theory s says

Andrew Jackson Was An Influential President
According to Andrew Jackson, It is to be regretted that the rich and powerful too often bend the acts of
government to their own selfish purposes . Jackson believed that the rich were using their position of
power to become wealthy. Jackson s main goal during his presidency was to shift the power from the
rich overpowering leaders to the more common people. He believed that the common people would do
a better job at running the government and he wanted the voices of the people to be heard. Jackson
was a debated president during his presidency however he did many influential things that was
important to the overall benefit of the country. Even though he set up the Trail of Tears that forced
many Native Americans from their homes ,Andrew Jackson was an influential president because he
destroyed the national bank which ultimately saved our country from debt and he was instrumental in
the acquisition of Florida. Andrew Jackson continues to prove that he was an influential President
because the things he did when he was president continue to benefit United States to this day.
Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of the United States. Jackson was born on March 15, 1767
in North Carolina. His family immigrated before he was born from Scotland and Ireland however
Jackson was born in the United States. His family was a modest farm family who worked hard for
their money. Jackson earlier in his life was a lawyer and later served as a military general during the

The Pros And Cons Of Playing Deer Hunter
Alright so maybe this is a cruel topic but let s face it, the bear hunters that particpated in New Jersey
probably had more fun than anybody playing Deer Hunter 2014. New Jersey s open season on bears
has opened and the citizens over there sure got a lot of them. This, no doubt, led to many protesters
against it. Maybe they should go play Deer Hunter and see if the real thing would be more fun!
BEAR HUNTERS GO WILD IN NEW JERSEY
There were a total of 216 bears that were killed on opening day of bear season. This number nearly
doubled the amount of last year which was only 120. This means that the week long season will
probably last years amount of 272 bears. Although there were protesters, a member of the Bureau of

Essay On William Shakespeare
This is an informational essay about Poet, Actor, and Playwright,William Shakespeare. In this essay
you can find much information ranging from fun facts to his death. This essay tells much about his life
and includes some details of family members. The key purpose of this essay is to inform curious
people about William Shakespeare. I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most
immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human

He wrote 38 plays and 154 sonnets.(biographyonline.net) This shows us how dedicated Shakespeare
was to literature. Why did he find himself so attached to writing and how did he get so great?
III: Early Life:
Although he is best known for his works as a successful adult, William Shakespeare was once a child.
Www.bardweb.net states, John Shakespeare had a remarkable run of success as a merchant, alderman,
and high bailiff of Stratford, during William s early childhood. His fortunes declined, however, in the
late 1570s. Shakespeare s family was very financially successful during most of his childhood. This
could have gave him motivation to have just as much success. William, according to the church
register, was the third of eight children in the Shakespeare household three of whom died in
childhood.(www.bardweb.net) Though he had a very rich childhood, William learned the pain of loss
at a very young age. Did this pain grow through adulthood.
IV: Middle Life William Shakespeare had started his adulthood late teen years. When they married,
Anne was 26 and William was 18. (folgur.edu) This proves he was very mature for his age and his
major responsibility started young. Shakespeare s only son, Hamnet, died in 1596 at the age of 11.
(folgur.edu) Since Hamnet was Shakespeare s only son, he was left living with three other women.
Could this have impacted how traumatic he was? Is anything known

Recording Studio Music Analysis
Brian Eno said that the recording studio takes music out of time dimension and puts it in the space
dimension . Eno describes that the recording studio has opened a new world of music a world in which
the listener can listen to a performance over and over again. Prior to the use of the studio, listeners
could only listen to a performance once when it is performed live, so this opens new doors for
listeners. Listeners now have the ability with studio recordings to listen again and again to a
performance, to become familiar with details you most certainly had missed the first time though, and
to become very fond of details that weren t intended by the composer or the musicians (Eno, p. 127).
Therefore, this creates a new relationship between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, you could even say that the recording studio opened music up for fans today, so that
listeners can enjoy their favorite artists or performances continually as much as they want. Tomorrow
Never Knows by the Beatles is an excellent example of Eno s concept as well as the power the
recording studio has. There are so many different sound effects and styles mashed up within the song;
from McCarney s cut, mixed, and reversed solo from their previous song Taxman to Harrison s Indian
stylings with the sitar to Lennon s heavily altered voice to the loops created by George Martin, there is
always something new to hear within the song (McDonald and Hudson). Therefore, Tomorrow Never
Knows is an intriguingly important song for the space dimension because it invites listeners to listen
over and over again. The Beach Boys also build upon Eno s idea of the space dimension in their hit
Good Vibrations , where its unique and undefined nature develops this idea of sound (Schloss, Starr,
and Waterman, p.126 128). From its strange format of lyrics and verses to its unusual instrumentation,
Good Vibrations creates a world where listeners can find new and unintended things very time they

Ancient Civilization And The Mayan People
Every ancient civilization had a set of beliefs and the Mayan people were no different. The Mayan
people believed in two worlds, the everyday world and the underworld, or the Place of Awe, (2012).
The Mayans believed in many gods, human sacrifice and the burial process for the poor and the kings
were very different. The Mayans became around 250 AD and the Olmec s influenced their religious
culture. It was not until 900 AD that the Mayans began to flourish in cities across modern day Mexico,
Guatemala and north Belize. One of the most important gods for the Mayans was the supreme god
Itzamana, the creator god, the god of fire and god of the earth (2012). Itzamana is shown as a king
who was in charge of minor gods. The God of Itzamana is connected to the sacred world tree, or Ceiba
tree, which for the Maya linked together the sky, earth, and the underworld (2012). The Mayas
believed in two worlds, the everyday world and the underworld or place of Awe. The Mayan people
believed that gods, spirits and dead ancestors lived in the underworld. The person in charge of sending
people to the underworld was the main chief. Unlike some religions, the belief of the underworld for
the Mayans was very sad, dark, cold and a place where there where mean gods that would torment
them (2015). The Maya believed super natural levels not as heaven and hell, but the upper, middle and
underworld that consisted of many levels with the underworld being the lowest level. The Ceiba tree

three different types of stress routine stress (everyday stress), sudden stress brought about by a sudden
negative change, and traumatic stress which can happen when you re seriously ill. Stress is the body s
normal reaction to events whether negative or positive.

Mandate Of Heaven Theory
Ancient China s rich history directly influenced China of the 21st century. The cultivation of rice
became a staple source of food in China for centuries. The primary source of accounts of ancient china
come from the Shujing, which spanned the Xia, Shang, and Zhou empires. The role of women s
reached its heights during the Shang empire, with Fu Hao, and underwent a downward trajectory from
the Zhou empire and the beginnings of confucius. The regime changes are unique in China due to the
Mandate of Heaven which gave new regimes the control over the civilians of the conquered empires,
such as the Zhou when it conquered the Shang empire. The decline of the Zhou came about from the

The Zhou were able to utilize the mandate of heaven to allow them to justify their conquering of the
Shang, which enabled the defeated Shang commoners to live within the Zhou empire (Sivers,
Desnoyers and Stow 105). The growth of the Zhou was facilitated by the consolidation of power
within the Shang during their decline, which enacted the Zhou state to conduct a military campaign
against the Shang (Sivers, Desnoyers and Stow 105). The decline of the Zhou empire commenced
once the various Zhou states began promoting their own interests at the expense of the empire (Sivers,
Desnoyers, and Stow 106). As a result of the power held by local rulers under feudalism the Zhou
central government began to quickly lose power (Sivers, Desnoyers, and Stow 107). The Zhou s
decision to relocate their capital isolated itself from various states undergoing economic success
(Sivers, Desnoyers, and Stow 107). Furthermore, states began deferring power to larger states in what
came to be known as hegemony (Sivers, Desnoyers, and Stow 107). Ultimately, the leading state s
fight for influence along with a civil war in Jin led to the Warring states period and dissolved what
remained of the Zhou empire (Sivers, Desnoyers, and Stow

Literary Analysis Of Alice Munro s How I Met My Husband
Literary Analysis Edie and Alice Munro s Life Alice Munro s short story, How I Met My Husband has
a narrator that is one of a kind and a true reflection of the author s lifestyle. The symbolic meaning of
Edie s role in the story can be directly related to the life Alice Munro was living and striving for
herself. Edie is a 15 year old girl who strives for marriage and affection from men, has been raised in a
country/rural setting, and does poorly in obtaining a higher education due to many reasons. Just as
Edie is living out this way of life in the story, Alice Munro was experiencing the same things in her
real day to day life.
The drive for marriage and affection from men was a desire that both Edie and Munro strived for in

She later states in the article that she did not discover her talent for writing until she was a housewife
around the age of 40. This want of being popular among the boys was reflected through the life of
Edie and her affection seeking ways.
The interest shown by Chris Watters is a love that is deceptive to Edie as she is searching for a man to
show her what she wants in life. Do you have to go so soon (Kennedy 207)? shows that he cares for
her, but not on the same level she is interpreting this compassion. Alice went through a similar
situation, after she had three kids she went through a divorce which shows the vulnerability of women
to love and the deception that can accompany it.
Another component of love and the feelings of love for a man are revealed through a strong
comparison made in the story by Edie in regards to the fiancée of Chris Watters, Alice Kelling. This
comparison is one that is made of out of jealousy since Alice Kelling was already one step ahead of
Edie in the quest for Chris s heart and love.
This Alice Kelling had on a pair of brown and white checked slacks and a yellow top. Her bust looked
to me rather low and bumpy. She had a worried face. Her

Analysis Of The Constitution And The Constitution
Dahl and the Constitution James Madison and the rest of the Founders of the Constitution undeniably
founded a government that has withstood the test of time. The question that Robert Dahl poses in How
Democratic Is the American Constitution? is whether this form of government and specifically the
Constitution is as democratic as it should be and focuses on the Constitution s shortcomings. Dahl
argues that the constitution is much less democratic than it ought to be. Madison, on the other hand,
had doubts about the effectiveness and practicality of a purely democratic form of government and
fought for a republic with checks on power. I believe that the Constitution should be evaluated
according to how it serves the American population today. Americans are raised through public
schooling and popular culture to view the Constitution as nearly infallible and those that wrote it as
inspired. However, it is clearly not a perfect document. After the bill of rights there has come about
seventeen additional amendments, or small changes by definition, to the original document. It
intentionally contained no mention of one of the most egregious aspects of American history slavery.
Despite all of these things, I agree with Madison that the Constitution needed to limit democracy in
order to provide a strong enough national government that would not endanger personal liberty.
Society has changed quite a bit since the original crafting of the Constitution in 1787 which has
prompted

Realistic Portrayal Of Dogra
Realistic Portrayal of Dogra Society is B.P. Sathe s Short Story Kudme da Lahma.
Dogri language is my mother tongue as I belong to the Dogra society. Dogras are known for their
bravery and valour. India s Dogra regiment fought in the British army in the world war and thus
brought laurels to the name of Dogras. Another major contribution of dogras is the accession of
Kashmir to India. It was because of active role of dogra rulers that Kashmir became a part of
independant India after partition. Now a days a whole genre of research has opened up dogra culture
and literature to be read and analysed. In this paper an attempt has been made to study Sathe s short

Essay on Emily Prager s Our Barbies, Ourselves
Emily Prager s Our Barbies, Ourselves?
In the essay Our Barbies, Ourselves, Emily Prager explores the history of the Barbie doll and talks
about the Barbie doll itself. Prager seems convinced that the Barbie doll was an object created by a
man and that Barbie reeks of sexuality, sexual innuendo and serves as the anti feminist embodiment of
every man s fantasy. In her own expressive and persuasive modes to fashion an essay designed to
persuade the reader that the Barbie doll is a twisted and corrupt tool designed by men to combat the
feminist revolution. Though her attempts at persuasion are commendable, I was not swayed in my
opinions on Barbie. If anything, I just found fault with this writer s point of view, and I found her ...

It is entirely possible that Barbie is the best of both worlds. Sexy yet smart. Balancing the extreme
worlds of male fantasy and feminine idealism.
Paragraph 7 talks about Prager?s feelings towards Barbie?s boyfriend, Ken. Prager feels that if Barbie
was too sexual, then Ken was the opposite with little or no sexuality at all. His appearance was plain, a
vast difference from the sculpted curves and slopes of Barbie?s body. Prager suggests that this is
because of Ken?s concealed sexuality and Barbie?s exposed sexuality. His plastic painted on jockey
briefs were a far cry from Barbie?s larger than life bra free breasts. Prager continues with her
conclusion that Barbie must somehow be sexually frustrated, because of Ken?s lack of sexuality, and
no matter how sexy she is, or what she does, she will never be able to turn Ken on.
It is my opinion that Prager has failed in her attempts to persuade the reader that Barbie is a tool
created from male fantasy or a poster child for modern feminism. If anything this essay has helped me
to realize that Barbie is a combination of both worlds. She is both sexually appealing to men and
someone that women can admire and even a toy that little girls can play with and hope to be like when
they are older. I still remain adamantly devoted to my Barbie dolls, seeing her as neither temptress or
sexually frustrated object.

Examples Of Materialism In A Perfect Day For Bananafish
John Steinbeck suggests that to a monster the norm must seem monstrous, since everyone is normal to
himself . Just as some people are born missing limbs or with another physical birth defect, such as a
birthmark, others could be born missing a trait vital to communicate with the world around them or
lose a trait throughout the course of their life. Although this missing trait is not visible to others in
society, does not mean it is any less serious. For instance, Seymour has a severe case of PTSD after
returning from war that causes his actions to seem abnormal to those around him, even his family.
Furthermore, Seymour finds that the actions of those around him, the materialistically obsessed, are
difficult for him to cope with. In J.D. Salinger s A Perfect Day for Bananafish , Salinger depicts how
life is for the monsters like Seymour in such a materialistic society. Seymour, a seemingly normal man
to the naked eye, is secluded from the world around him. Searching for an escape from such an
uninviting society, Seymour takes some big grasps for help before committing to his eventual demise.
Salinger begins his depiction of Seymour through disdain before he brings the audience to his heart
breaking conclusion. Salinger indicates that the emotionally fragile cannot survive in a materialistic
and superficial society because society is not willing to accept those who are different. Salinger begins
his short story by depicting a materialistic society; in turn, he creates

The correlation coefficient was .11 which suggested that there was a slight correlation between the
two variables. This was not as strong as I expected to find because of crime rates in high density areas
tending to be higher. The slope was also .021 which means even if there was a strong correlation
coefficient it would still be negligible. Density is not a contributing factor when in relation to crime
rates, disproving hypothesis 1. Next in table 10 the amount of police per square mile is substituted as
the x interval where crime rate stays the same as y. The correlation coefficient was .08 which is even
less than density. This disproved hypothesis 3 because there is almost no correlation to the amount of
police in an area and the crime rate. The slope was also irrelevant at 3.6. Table 12 compared the
correlation between graduation rate and crime. The correlation between the data sets were .624 wish is
a strong correlation. When graduation rates suffer crime rates increase. The slope for this statistic is
110 which explains that for every 1 percent from 100 a graduation rate is in a city there is an
additional 110 crimes committed per 100,000 people. This is a huge slope which shows how important

New Labour Thatcherism Similarities
For many, New Labour possessed an abundance of similarities to the Conservative governments
previous to it, in particular the 1979 1990 party led by Margret Thatcher. These similarities are evident
in their continuation of Conservative policies and their abandonment of Labour policies that were
previously inherent to the party. It is important to note that I have interpreted warmed up as a term
describing New Labour s less confrontational style of governance in comparison to that of Thatcher.
This essay will be arguing that New Labour was more than warmed up Thatcherism, in fact, they
posed as an advancer of Thatcherism through their continuation of Thatcherite policies and their
decision to build upon them. To evaluate this point, it is necessary to define the origins of both New
Labour and Thatcherism. The 1997 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Thatcher s economic policies including a deregulated financial sector. Upon assuming her role as

Student Id: 700617032 Agile Methods Summary In the last decades the trend to agile and even
extreme methods has been the most significant event where agile methods provide developers with a
comprehensive method of tools and options. It is a traditionalists approaching perfection through
reusing extension planning and certifies processes. Because of new generation developers and change

planning of a system acts a backbone for itself; agile methods have a great planning compared to
normal hacking techniques. But still hardcore hackers use agile principles in finding out whether on

developing agile methods than high capable people. Plan driven methods are best until a proper

grendelbeo Epic of Beowulf Essay
The Evil of Grendel in Beowulf
The story of Beowulf, written during Anglo Saxon times, is a classic epic tale between good versus
evil. It is a story that gives us insight into the values of the Anglo Saxon people. The Anglo Saxons
glorified heroism and the conquering of evil. In the Anglo Saxon epic Beowulf, the character of
Grendel symbolically represents evil through his setting and heritage, his hateful attitude toward men,
and his vicious acts of murder.
Grendel s heritage and setting are two things that attribute to Grendel s evilness. In the story the author
tells us that Grendel was a descendant of Cain(the son of Adam and Eve, who was cursed by God for
killing his brother Abel). The poet writes, Conceived ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is pure evil spawned from Hell.
In Beowulf, Grendel represents evil through his hateful attitude towards men. Grendel is tormented by
the loud cheerful music that the Danes sing. The poet writes, A powerful monster, living down in the
darkness, growled in pain, impatient as day after day the music rang loud in that hall, the harps
rejoicing (lines 23 26). The poet suggests that the monster loathes the Danes for their loudness.
Another reason for the monster s hatred toward men could be because he is jealous of the humans.
Grendel knows that he can not be accepted in their group and be one of them. The monster uses this as
an excuse to kill them, and he keeps the grudge against them no matter how many of the men he kills.
The poet writes, How the monster relished his savage war on the Danes, keeping the bloody feud
alive, seeking no peace, offering no truce, accepting no settlement, no price in gold or land, and
paying the living for one crime with another (lines 89 94). The author shows us that Grendel will not
forgive the Danes, even though the Danes didn t even know they were committing a crime against
Grendel. Grendel s evilness is fueled by his hatred of men. The author writes, Seeing how Grendel
hunted when they slept. Distance was safety; the only survivors were those fled him. Hate had
triumphed (lines 78 80). He shows us how Grendel s hatred fueled his passionate lust for evil.
Grendel also represents evil

Money In Congress
When the founders of the United States created this country, they wanted the citizens to have an
election system which was fair, and they did not want outside influences affecting these elections.
However, through out our countries history, money has been able to influence elections. Therefore, it
is important that the government install a limit on how much one can contribute to a campaign.
Because of this, congress has worked vary hard to limit the amount of money that one is able to
contribute during a federal election. While congress had been working hard for decades to make these
laws, this has not been the case in Illinois. The State of Illinois passed its first piece of legislation,

$200,000 to candidates for statewide office. Furthermore, they are only allowed to contribute

political parties and legislative caucus committees are also only allowed to contribute $75,000 for
state representative elections, Finally, the bill states that these committees are only allowed to
contribute $50,000 for any other election in Illinois. Although this act states how much a political
party is allowed to contribute to a candidate, this new legislation also documents how much money
these committees are allowed to receive during an election cycle. The act states that during an election
cycle, a political party is only allowed to accept $10,000 of contributions from an individual, $50,000
of contributions from a political action committee, and $20,000 of contributions from a corporation
and labor organization. Because this legislation does not place a spending restriction legislative caucus

Bacon s Rebellion Analysis
The elderly Berkeley had some secret scheme in mind, having governing Virginia since 1641, he
wanted to maintain an alliances relationship with friendly neighboring Natives tribes and uses them as
the buffers while fighting the Susquehannocks war, and in fact maintaining his fur trade monopoly. On
the other side, Bacon and his followers, the discontented Virginians blamed the Natives, friendly or
not, for all their problems. Theirs viewed of the Susquehannocks war as an opportunity to solve all
their problems at once, for good.
Not being able to convince the Governor for the commission he felt warranted, Bacon secretly fled
Jamestown only to returned later with five or six hundred armed men and marched directly to where
Governor and the Council were in the meeting. In the meantime, the news flock Jamestown with more
raids and murder of the settlers committed by the Natives. Having his men surrounded the building,

Topic 1: The Platform of Aung San Suu Kyi
Aung San Suu Kyi states, If suffering were an unavoidable part of our existence, we should try to
alleviate it as far as possible in practical, earthly ways. Healthcare should be Suu Kyi s first priority
for reforming Burma. Burmese citizens, namely children, are not getting the healthcare that they
deserve. Although Burma is striving for universal healthcare, the amount of money allotted is not
enough for people to get the proper care that they need. As of 2014, Burma allotted approximately
$USD18 per capita while the regional average of south east Asia was approximately $USD70 per
capita. Burma needs to budget more money for healthcare. The mortality rate of children under the age
of five in Burma is 9.3% higher than the global average, and children are not the only place where
issues arise. Almost 1 in 4 Burmese citizens between 30 70 die from a noncommunicable disease

The Differences Of The Roman Empire And The Byzantine Empire
The Byzantine Empire was a vast powerful empire dating from 330 1453. The capital was
Constantinople (modern day Istanbul), first known as Byzantium. To begin with, the Roman Empire
was split up into two halves by Emperor Diocletian in A.D. 285. The empire was divided into the
Western Roman Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire (The Byzantine Empire). The Eastern Roman
Empire was similar to the Western Roman Empire but had some prime differences. These differences
included language, acceptance of Christianity, and influences from Middle Eastern along with Greek
Culture. During most of the Eastern Roman Empire s existence, it was the political, military, and

Justinian ruled such as Roman emperors Nero and Caligula in the fact that he was mentally disturbed

extreme tyranny. He recklessly killed all who dissented, and this too he did in the name of piety. For
he did not call it homicide when those who perished happened to be of a belief that was different from
his own. This is another excerpt from the Secret History by Procopius. It once again shows that
Justinian had no limits to what he viewed as acceptable, ruthlessly murdering all who stood in his way.

Hip Hop Music In The 1970 s
Hip Hop music is a popular subculture, a piece of music that is focused on rhythmic music along with

Waswani Tribe
British treaty negotiators at the time had a dimmer view of the Parry Islanders considering them a
stubborn lot growing small patches of corn and potatoes for a bon bouche in the autumn . They also
note that they are still living in wigwams and not log cabins as many other tribes had been doing for
centuries. The area in and around Parry Sound became divided into 5 regions whose boundaries often

As you drive, air rushes past your car. It hits the front of your car and the intake, and this cold air is
forced to the engine. As a combination, the turbo and intake greatly improve power and speed.
I said earlier that the engine burns fuel and air to cause compression. With a high burning gas injected
into the engine, you gain instant horsepower***. Nitrous Oxide is a gas that burns hotter and faster
than regular fuel. When it is directly injected into the cylinder, it burns at a greater rate to the fuel,
increasing speed greatly. Through a switch on the wheel, a driver engages a certain amount of
NOS**** from a tank in his car. Through a nozzle, the driver decides how much gas he wants then the
burst is pressed. With this high powered gas, too much can literally burn so hot that it melts your
engine. These drivers take the risk of wanting too much speed and blowing their engine apart. A NOS
boost can shake the welds off the engine and the driver out of the car; this is why it s a blessing and a
curse.
If a driver wants to be safe in a high speed car that has NOS and other modifications, they need
protection. Also many gauges that tell them what s going on in their car. Safety is a major concern for
these racers, so they make a number of safety enhancing modifications.

Friendship in the Kite Runner Essay
The line between a friend and an enemy is thinner than one can ever imagine. In the words of Henry

than a companion, to pass the time with. They help us shape our life, and they re responsible to be that
little voice in our ear, to help us analyze our actions and views. Through Amir s relationships, The
Kite Runner shows the true role of a friend to point and guide us even when we don t agree; total

Comparing The Book Of Ruth And 1 Kings 1-11
In this threaded discussion board you will use your analytical skills to compare and contrast the book
of Ruth to the end of Solomon s reign found in 1 Kings 1 11. It is important to look at these two
sections of scripture as bookends . Then, use your interpretative skills to explain the significance of
these two sections of scripture
A big difference in the book of Ruth and 1 Kings is the origin of the main characters. Ruth is a
Moabite woman from outside the Promised Land. Her upbringing most likely did not involve learning
or following the covenants of God. Her exposure to God most likely came from Naomi, Naomi s
husband and Naomi s son. But considering this family initially left the Promised Land for a different
life we can only speculate how faithful to God this family may have been. Solomon was King David s
son raised in the knowledge of God and his covenants. Solomon may have even had first hand
experience with his father praying to God.
A similarity between the two characters is their uncommon placement into their situation. Ruth was a
foreigner to Israel, brought to Israel by her devotion to her mother in law and God s divine
intervention. Had she not met this family in Moab, she would have never ... Show more content on

The Change Clause In Government Contract Law
Contract clauses can cover many facets of commercial and business interests; whether it be
government or civilian and can take on various forms. Contract clauses are enforceable under federal
and state laws as well as any other part of a contract. Out of all the general clauses confined in
Government contracts, the Change Clause would seem to be the most important. It stands in the focus
of the contractual arrangement with other clauses denoting to and borrowing its basic practice as some
usual way of doing things. By advantage of this clause, the Government is permitted unilaterally to
alter the contract and hold the contractor to perform under the unilaterally changed contract. It is this
important departure from the old concept of mutuality, with its pointed inferences on the non
governmental party, that sets the Government contract different from the standard commercial
contract. Incidentally, this rare arrangement is altogether to the disadvantage of the contractor. The
Changes clause affords for an equitable compensation, if it is fitting. Additionally, the Changes clause,

undercutting the competition, arranging special deals with railroads, and aggressively buying out its
competition. Between 1902 and 1904 the writer Ida Tarbell, the daughter of a failed oil businessman
whose company went under because of Standard Oils practices, wrote a 19 part investigational report
into the practices of Standard Oil. These articles led to the wide spread public outcry for the
government to do something about Standard Oil and monopolies in all other industries. In 1911
Standard Oil was sued by the United States and the case reached the Supreme Court. Under the
Sherman Act the government alleged Standard Oil was a monopoly and abused its monopolistic power
to restrain trade through predatory pricing and unfair deals with railroad companies. Standard Oil cut

The World Trade Center Memorial
World Trade Center Memorial The World Trade Center Memorial commemorates the September 11,
2001,attacks and the bombing that occurred at the World Trade Center in 1993. The memorial can be
found at the former location of the Twin Towers in New York. These fountains that rest in the
footprints of the towers are a powerful reminders of our nations history and all the lives that were lost
that day. This memorial is ultimately successful because it evokes emotion, whether that be sadness or
possibly a feeling of serenity or stillness. The memorial was commissioned by Lower Manhattan
Development Corporation and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. An international
design competition was held in 2003 for selecting the design for ... Show more content on

I don t care if Peter is described as this or that, he says. It s my design. The announcement of Michael
Arad s design winning the competition was the start of controversy for this memorial. Daniel
Libeskind was furious that he won because Arad s design completely destroyed the vision he had for
the space. I will fight this! he yelled during his first meeting about it with the LMDC. I am the people
s architect! Daniel want the slurry wall to be present in the memorial and have the whole site set
below the main street. Arad felt that this would disconnect the memorial from the life of the city. His
opinion won and the slurry wall can still be viewed below the memorial in the museum. That was only
the beginning of conflict between architects in this process of construction. Many victims groups
hated Arad s design as well. They hated the fact that fountains when underground instead of rising into
the sky. The feeling of absence made them uncomfortable. The idea of absence is common in counter
memorials. How can someone depict the incomprehensible events with a comprehensive memorial? A
primary solution to the problem has been the formalized absence given by deconstructivism. I think
the use of absences is what gives this memorial strength. 9/11 was a major day in our nation s history,
therefore it should have an immense memorial. The reflecting pool mark the footprints of the north
and south towers that fell. Each are nearly an acre in

Canadian Narrative
It was a cool September morning in the 19th century, the brisk, dry breeze of Kentucky s Autumn
winds struck my face. It woke me from my slumber within the dark, forlorning cave. The dim glow of
dawn s sunrise was refreshing, it gave me a sense of hope that... maybe I could survive running away
from my master and live in freedom. Maybe I truly could make it to Canada, it may be getting cold,
but temperature could only douse my hope for so long. Standing and brushing the leaves off from my
dress, I gathered myself and headed out onto the Underground Railroad; my path to liberty. The leaves
crunched and tattered beneath my feet, and the comfort of the cave walls were left behind me. I couldn
t hide forever, I had to face the harsh reality that there was going home now. It s unfortunate why I had
to take the railroad, they were going to sell me to the Carolina s for my learning. And we all know
South Carolina is the deepest south you can get. All I could do at this point as I continued my journey
was pray, pray to the lords above that I could survive this. No bounty hunters could track me, no ...

I stiffened in horror, I felt the blood in my body just pause out of sheer terror of what was coming. I
could hear my beating heart in my ears when the soldiers looked up as well, it almost seemed in slow
motion when the bounty hunter lifted his gun. And shot the very branch I was standing on down, I was
lucky to not have been hit with the bullet. But I was very, very unlucky getting caught. I felt the cold,
harsh grasp of the metal shackles hug my wrists. The warm hunter s hand pressed on my small back,
and I was forced forward. The other hand had hold of the shackle s chain. Everything I promised...
Everything I hoped for, I felt it melt away into all but a sad dream as I was pushed the other way. I
knew what was coming; a welcome back home ... for

Jude is the second to last book in the Bible before Revelation and after third John. Jude consists of one

(Nelson) With no exact date of when Gethsemane was founded it is still going strong today in
Jerusalem. The exact location of Gethsemane can not be determined but some believe it is an olive
grove on the west slope of Mount Olive. (Gethsemane) Gethsemane is known for the place where
Jesus went to pray after the last supper and before He was betrayed. (Biblica) The story that portrays
Gethsemane being the place where Jesus prayed is in Matthew 26:36 46. In Matthew at verse 38 it
describes how Jesus felt while He was in the garden, My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point
of death. (Biblica) The garden is mentioned twice in the Bible by its name, the first instance was in the
book of Matthew. Also the garden is mentioned in the book of Mark chapter 14 verse 32. (Kent) The
location of the garden is mentioned in other scriptures, such as, Luke but, the name, Gethsemane, is
not written out. The Bible just refers to the location as Mount Olives. For many people Gathsemane
will ring in their mind as the place Jesus prayed in agony before His betrayal and

importance of inclusivism and differentiation within a play activity.
A play based curriculum is one that uses the power of play to foster children s development. It is a

Being in speech and debate you have to have a quick response to whatever your opponent says, this
has proven helpful to the development of my problem solving abilities. Being a quick thinker is
essential to speech and debate as well. This is quite an easy one to apply to the server as there are
many many problems that moderator s have to deal with. My second strength would have to be
optimism. As a moderator you want to keep up the happy, peaceful community that inhabits this
server, and if you were a pessimist as a moderator, instead of making people happy, you would make
them upset. Being an optimist, it is very easy to see the good in things and be a happy person whilst on
the server whereas it is very easy to get yourself down as a pessimist.
My third and final strength would be my friendliness. One of the aspects of being friendly is being
nice and both of those are major essentials to the server. If you aren t nice, a drama will ensue and
drama is bad for everyone and it would be a great idea not to get yourself tangled within the core of it.
Players want to be comfortable talking to a mod, and without you being friendly it will be harder for
players to reach out to you for help.

A Case For Change HTF s IT Project Management Process Standardization
Executive Summary
This document describes the proposal of creating a new EPMO organization within HTF
(Hypothetical Financials) to oversee the standardization of its IT project management processes
including those for software development. HTF s (Hypothetical Financials) different LOBs currently
follow various flavors of SDLC models for software development and project management processes
and it is known the firm was too big to adopt quick process changes. The creation of an EMPO
organization is not a trivial efforts and is estimated to cost about 6 million dollars spanning 3 years
duration. The initiative will go through annual evaluation and budget planning process ... Show more

However, currently the firm lacks standard processes around development and project management.
Each line of business has its own proprietary or derived methodologies built on top of the Waterfall
model. There s not an official standard at firm level nor there s an EMPO like organization responsible
for standardization. The level of maturity in the project management process is different too across
different LOBs. For example, some LOBs requires project managers to write business cases (BC) and
go through approval processes before a project can be created inside a project management system.
Some LOBs do not or simply adopted manual process in the approval of business cases. That means
that the business case are not required to be entered in the BC system. Some LOBs have standard
project template for PMs to use and others do not. Another example of varied maturity is around the
artifact/document management. Different tools are used for documents (e.g. requirements and design
documents). Some LOBs are using Microsoft SharePoint as a central repository but some simply use a
network drive. Developers also follow different processes in managing source code. Some use
standard tools such as Subversion to manage source code and following the best practices, some
simply keeps their source code on the development servers.
As a global financial organization, HTF s various lines of businesses (LOB) have been operating in a
very independent way. Each LOB also

Cremation Tools Case Study
Funeral Service Offering:
It is vital for funeral homes to start taking the time and effort to market and advertise cremation
products. With the increase in cremation as the final disposition of a body, it will be to the funeral
homes interest to take the time and money to advertise and offer cremation products to the families
they serve. I truly believe that cremation will take over this industry within the next ten years. I
understand that funeral homes try to veer away from cremation, but if the funeral home takes the time
and effort to advertise cremation products, it will also bring in more money. I am going to talk about
many different products throughout this project, but the one thing I am going to focus on the most is,

We have different options available that range from brass and metal urns, to wood urns, ceramic urns,
glass urns, etc. There are also different sizes available that families can purchase. The cost of Urns and
Keepsakes can range anywhere from $50 $300.
Cremation Caskets: When a family chooses cremation as the type of disposition of their loved one, but
would like a visitation and funeral before the cremation takes place, they typically rent a casket from
the funeral home which eliminates the cost of buying a casket. On average, a funeral home typically
charges $750 $1,000 to rent a casket.
Personalizing Cremation Merchandise: Again, the price of these items will vary depending on what
the family chooses as their product, as well as, how much personalization they choose to do on the
product. The price of these items will start off with the price of the urn or keepsake, but will also be an
upcharge due to the personalized wants put onto the urns or keepsakes. I would say that a family is
looking at prices between $350 and higher.
Pet Memorial Products: Depending on what type of pet memorial product the family chooses will
depend on the cost of the product. I would say a family is typically looking at prices from $50 $300
with these types of

  • 2. What Is The Effect Of Sucrose Concentration On The Rate Of... Conclusion: The drawn hypothesis is accepted, or in other words supported by the collected data to a certain extent. Both the raw data tables as well as the graphs show accuracy to a certain extent which goes to show that there was error, however minimal. The hypothesis stated the the more hypertonic the sucrose solution, the less increase in potato mass there will be. It even suggests that mass might increase. The collected data shows, that the more hypotonic the solution, the bigger growth rate in the potato masses. However as we get to the last 2 trials, where the solution was becoming more hypertonic we can see the rate of growth drop, and decrease. To wrap up the experiment, we can see that the trails that were done on each of the 5 different sucrose concentrations were repeated for each concentration 5 times for higher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each performed trial was done by measuring the initial mass of the potato cylinder and after osmosis, the conducted results show that the more hypertonic the sucrose solution, the higher the rate of osmosis hence the decrease in mass. This is especially apparent in the concluding two trials, 4 and 5. According to the osmosis theory as the concentration of the sucrose solution increases the particle s water potential increases and becomes higher than the particles that are in the potato. When looking at the acquired data we can say that the hypothesis was supported, hence showing that as the concentration of sucrose increases the rate of osmosis decreases. The standard deviation which is shown in the data table represents the reliability of the data that was collected. Evaluation: During the experiment a wide range of errors occurred. Most considered to be uncontrollable hence, qualifying as extraneous variables. The temperature of the surrounds was one, as the temperature could have manipulated the results in a slight ... He wrote 38 plays and 154 sonnets.(biographyonline.net) This shows us how dedicated Shakespeare was to literature. Why did he find himself so attached to writing and how did he get so great? III: Early Life: Although he is best known for his works as a successful adult, William Shakespeare was once a child. Www.bardweb.net states, John Shakespeare had a remarkable run of success as a merchant, alderman, and high bailiff of Stratford, during William s early childhood. His fortunes declined, however, in the late 1570s. Shakespeare s family was very financially successful during most of his childhood. This could have gave him motivation to have just as much success. William, according to the church register, was the third of eight children in the Shakespeare household three of whom died in childhood.(www.bardweb.net) Though he had a very rich childhood, William learned the pain of loss at a very young age. Did this pain grow through adulthood. IV: Middle Life William Shakespeare had started his adulthood late teen years. When they married, Anne was 26 and William was 18. • 7. Recording Studio Music Analysis Brian Eno said that the recording studio takes music out of time dimension and puts it in the space dimension . Eno describes that the recording studio has opened a new world of music a world in which the listener can listen to a performance over and over again. Prior to the use of the studio, listeners could only listen to a performance once when it is performed live, so this opens new doors for listeners. Listeners now have the ability with studio recordings to listen again and again to a performance, to become familiar with details you most certainly had missed the first time though, and to become very fond of details that weren t intended by the composer or the musicians (Eno, p. 127). Therefore, this creates a new relationship between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, you could even say that the recording studio opened music up for fans today, so that listeners can enjoy their favorite artists or performances continually as much as they want. Tomorrow Never Knows by the Beatles is an excellent example of Eno s concept as well as the power the recording studio has. There are so many different sound effects and styles mashed up within the song; from McCarney s cut, mixed, and reversed solo from their previous song Taxman to Harrison s Indian stylings with the sitar to Lennon s heavily altered voice to the loops created by George Martin, there is always something new to hear within the song (McDonald and Hudson). Therefore, Tomorrow Never Knows is an intriguingly important song for the space dimension because it invites listeners to listen over and over again. The Beach Boys also build upon Eno s idea of the space dimension in their hit Good Vibrations , where its unique and undefined nature develops this idea of sound (Schloss, Starr, and Waterman, p.126 128). From its strange format of lyrics and verses to its unusual instrumentation, Good Vibrations creates a world where listeners can find new and unintended things very time they listen to the ... The decline of the Zhou empire commenced once the various Zhou states began promoting their own interests at the expense of the empire (Sivers, Desnoyers, and Stow 106). • 13. Literary Analysis Of Alice Munro s How I Met My Husband Literary Analysis Edie and Alice Munro s Life Alice Munro s short story, How I Met My Husband has a narrator that is one of a kind and a true reflection of the author s lifestyle. The symbolic meaning of Edie s role in the story can be directly related to the life Alice Munro was living and striving for herself. Edie is a 15 year old girl who strives for marriage and affection from men, has been raised in a country/rural setting, and does poorly in obtaining a higher education due to many reasons. She later states in the article that she did not discover her talent for writing until she was a housewife around the age of 40. This want of being popular among the boys was reflected through the life of Edie and her affection seeking ways. Do you have to go so soon (Kennedy 207)? shows that he cares for her, but not on the same level she is interpreting this compassion. Alice went through a similar situation, after she had three kids she went through a divorce which shows the vulnerability of women to love and the deception that can accompany it. Another component of love and the feelings of love for a man are revealed through a strong comparison made in the story by Edie in regards to the fiancée of Chris Watters, Alice Kelling. This comparison is one that is made of out of jealousy since Alice Kelling was already one step ahead of Edie in the quest for Chris s heart and love. • 15. Analysis Of The Constitution And The Constitution Dahl and the Constitution James Madison and the rest of the Founders of the Constitution undeniably founded a government that has withstood the test of time. The question that Robert Dahl poses in How Democratic Is the American Constitution? is whether this form of government and specifically the Constitution is as democratic as it should be and focuses on the Constitution s shortcomings. Dahl argues that the constitution is much less democratic than it ought to be. Madison, on the other hand, had doubts about the effectiveness and practicality of a purely democratic form of government and fought for a republic with checks on power. I believe that the Constitution should be evaluated according to how it serves the American population today. Americans are raised through public schooling and popular culture to view the Constitution as nearly infallible and those that wrote it as inspired. However, it is clearly not a perfect document. After the bill of rights there has come about seventeen additional amendments, or small changes by definition, to the original document. It intentionally contained no mention of one of the most egregious aspects of American history slavery. Despite all of these things, I agree with Madison that the Constitution needed to limit democracy in order to provide a strong enough national government that would not endanger personal liberty. Society has changed quite a bit since the original crafting of the Constitution in 1787 which has prompted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the essay Our Barbies, Ourselves, Emily Prager explores the history of the Barbie doll and talks about the Barbie doll itself. Prager seems convinced that the Barbie doll was an object created by a man and that Barbie reeks of sexuality, sexual innuendo and serves as the anti feminist embodiment of every man s fantasy. In her own expressive and persuasive modes to fashion an essay designed to persuade the reader that the Barbie doll is a twisted and corrupt tool designed by men to combat the feminist revolution. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is entirely possible that Barbie is the best of both worlds. Sexy yet smart. Balancing the extreme worlds of male fantasy and feminine idealism. Paragraph 7 talks about Prager?s feelings towards Barbie?s boyfriend, Ken. Prager feels that if Barbie was too sexual, then Ken was the opposite with little or no sexuality at all. His appearance was plain, a vast difference from the sculpted curves and slopes of Barbie?s body. Prager suggests that this is because of Ken?s concealed sexuality and Barbie?s exposed sexuality. His plastic painted on jockey briefs were a far cry from Barbie?s larger than life bra free breasts. Prager continues with her conclusion that Barbie must somehow be sexually frustrated, because of Ken?s lack of sexuality, and no matter how sexy she is, or what she does, she will never be able to turn Ken on. It is my opinion that Prager has failed in her attempts to persuade the reader that Barbie is a tool created from male fantasy or a poster child for modern feminism. If anything this essay has helped me to realize that Barbie is a combination of both worlds. She is both sexually appealing to men and someone that women can admire and even a toy that little girls can play with and hope to be like when they are older. • 18. Examples Of Materialism In A Perfect Day For Bananafish John Steinbeck suggests that to a monster the norm must seem monstrous, since everyone is normal to himself . Just as some people are born missing limbs or with another physical birth defect, such as a birthmark, others could be born missing a trait vital to communicate with the world around them or lose a trait throughout the course of their life. Although this missing trait is not visible to others in society, does not mean it is any less serious. For instance, Seymour has a severe case of PTSD after returning from war that causes his actions to seem abnormal to those around him, even his family. Furthermore, Seymour finds that the actions of those around him, the materialistically obsessed, are difficult for him to cope with. In J.D. Salinger s A Perfect Day for Bananafish , Salinger depicts how life is for the monsters like Seymour in such a materialistic society. Seymour, a seemingly normal man to the naked eye, is secluded from the world around him. Searching for an escape from such an uninviting society, Seymour takes some big grasps for help before committing to his eventual demise. Salinger begins his depiction of Seymour through disdain before he brings the audience to his heart breaking conclusion. Salinger indicates that the emotionally fragile cannot survive in a materialistic and superficial society because society is not willing to accept those who are different. • 34. Diagnostic Medical Sonography Essay Diagnostic Medical Sonography was introduced into my life suddenly when I was 15 years old. At that time, I was told that I had a blood clot running the length of my leg starting in my popliteal vein. Ultrasound after ultrasound I found myself becoming more and more interested with what was happening on the screen. Since I went to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for majority of my ultrasounds, I always had a student coming into my exams. On my very last exam, I started asking the sonographer questions about the exam. In the words of Henry David Thoreau, True friendship is never serene (ThinkExist.com). The job of a friend is so much more than a companion, to pass the time with. They help us shape our life, and they re responsible to be that little voice in our ear, to help us analyze our actions and views. Through Amir s relationships, The Kite Runner shows the true role of a friend to point and guide us even when we don t agree; total devotion can ruin not only a friendship, but a life. In Hossini s novel, there are plenty of examples of a true friendship, which isn t afraid to criticize and be truthful. The simplest is Amir s wife, Soraya. While some would say her ... Farid becomes friends with Amir as he learns his true purpose for being in Afghanistan, and his friendship is extremely useful to Amir. It isn t the happiest, and it doesn t last very long, but it helps him find Sohrab, and more importantly, find himself. • 36. Comparing The Book Of Ruth And 1 Kings 1-11 In this threaded discussion board you will use your analytical skills to compare and contrast the book of Ruth to the end of Solomon s reign found in 1 Kings 1 11. It is important to look at these two sections of scripture as bookends . Then, use your interpretative skills to explain the significance of these two sections of scripture A big difference in the book of Ruth and 1 Kings is the origin of the main characters. Ruth is a Moabite woman from outside the Promised Land. Her upbringing most likely did not involve learning or following the covenants of God. Her exposure to God most likely came from Naomi, Naomi s husband and Naomi s son. But considering this family initially left the Promised Land for a different life we can only speculate how faithful to God this family may have been. Solomon was King David s son raised in the knowledge of God and his covenants. Solomon may have even had first hand experience with his father praying to God. A similarity between the two characters is their uncommon placement into their situation. Ruth was a foreigner to Israel, brought to Israel by her devotion to her mother in law and God s divine intervention. Had she not met this family in Moab, she would have never ... • 38. The Change Clause In Government Contract Law Contract clauses can cover many facets of commercial and business interests; whether it be government or civilian and can take on various forms. Contract clauses are enforceable under federal and state laws as well as any other part of a contract. Out of all the general clauses confined in Government contracts, the Change Clause would seem to be the most important. It stands in the focus of the contractual arrangement with other clauses denoting to and borrowing its basic practice as some usual way of doing things. By advantage of this clause, the Government is permitted unilaterally to alter the contract and hold the contractor to perform under the unilaterally changed contract. It is this important departure from the old concept of mutuality, with its pointed inferences on the non governmental party, that sets the Government contract different from the standard commercial contract. Incidentally, this rare arrangement is altogether to the disadvantage of the contractor. The Changes clause affords for an equitable compensation, if it is fitting. By 1890 Standard controlled 90 percent of refined oil in the United States and was sued by the state of Ohio for its anticompetitive practices. Standard Oil of Ohio which was its original name simply broke the company into 41 separate companies, and controlled them through the new Standard Oil Trust, legally known as Standard Oil Co. of New Jersey. Because there were no federal laws prohibiting anticompetitive behavior in business Standard Oil was able to avoid any serious repercussions from the government. Standard Oil achieved market dominance by undercutting the competition, arranging special deals with railroads, and aggressively buying out its competition. Between 1902 and 1904 the writer Ida Tarbell, the daughter of a failed oil businessman whose company went under because of Standard Oils practices, wrote a 19 part investigational report into the practices of Standard Oil.
