Persian Constitutionalism
The Persian Constitutional Movement led to the creation of the Majlis and the Government
Gendarmerie, which were quite active throughout the Great War. In the Iranian Nationalism and
Government Gendarmerie, historian Stephanie Cronin, a fellow of Oriental Studies at Oxford
University, argues that Gendarme offices were propelled to national leadership and led the fight
against foreign intervention during the Great War. The Gendarmerie Government utilized various
strategies, imperial and domestic, to help reverse Irans political chaos and eventual burnout. Cronin
uses a chronological approach to capture the social political history of Gendarme officers, which
was established during the Qajar Dynasty. The shah wanted to modernize the Iranian... Show more

Throughout her article, Cronin uses a political discourse to demonstrate how the Gendarmerie
gained their power in a short period of time. Unlike any of her contemporaries, she uses Persian
sources to provide insight into the said discourse. She s uses Persian archival documents, such as
Tarikh i Zhandarmiri yi Iran, that provide insight to on the Government Gendarmerie, which truly
enriches her narrative. Persian sources describe the state s position during the Great War in a first
hand account and this attributes to the states participation in keeping their own agency throughout
the war. Olson uses British sources and narrative, like Grey s memoirs and Malcolm s text, to
illustrate Persia s involvement as the middleman; Majd follows this same approach with use of
State Department documents to view things from an American perspective. Thus, the use of
sources influences the language and tone used in the scholarship. Both Majd and Olson use a
neutral tone that describes Persia as lifeless state that seemed almost helpless, but Cronin argues
that people worked within the system to change their fate. More importantly, this political rhetoric
developed out Curzon s interpretation of

The Role Of Gap Years Essay
The role of gap years to earn a higher education is a controversial idea. Many people feel it is
important to take on Europe s natural participation in the gap year after high school. For
countless years, Europeans have practiced gap years before college to help a graduate grow.
Prince William of Europe took his beneficial gap year, helping the idea to spread to America
(Kelly para. 1) British influences have been leading America to a stronger future, and taking a gap
year after high schoolis now being adopted by the States. Certain students participating in the gap
year enhance their emotional and physical states before entering college. Also, some believe that
taking a gap year will influence the student to reject a higher education. On the other hand, taking a
gap year after high school can be expensive, but the experiences you receive from it are priceless.
Based on these different perspectives, I most closely agree with the fact that taking a break from
school before jumping into a higher educationcan help a graduate grow and find themselves.
Many people believe taking a gap year after high school will discourage a higher education
because the student is not likely to go back to school after taking a break. Due to this thought,
parents of new graduates are not openly supportive of gap years. Cases of students who take a gap
year and do not pursue a higher education are the ones thrown into the spotlight. The wide concern
of students giving up their

Analysis Of Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s House
The three act play A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsen, is centered around the protagonist, Nora
Helmer whose never been by herself. She lived with her father until he became ill and was left
to die on his deathbed, to living with her obliviously controlling husband, Torvald Helmer, who
treats her like a possession more than a person. In the beginning of the play, Nora s sneaky
attitude is caused by her husband treating her like a doll (hence the name, A Doll s House). He s
about to get a new job running a bank, which leads the couple not worrying about being poor.
However, he is only focused on his self, and his business. An old friend of Nora s from school,
Mrs. Christine Linde, has became a widow left with nothing and tells Nora she needs a job. She
does this in hopes of Torvald willing to give her one. While Nora mentions Christines financial
problem to Torvald, she tells Christine about a debt she owes in which she won t reveal from
whom. However, Nora does reveal why she borrowed the money. She did so because Torvald
was sick from overworking and doctors told her he needed to move South to a warmer climate.
Without Torvalds approval, Nora borrowed money from a man named Krogstad who controls the
bank Torvald is about manage. This was a bold act, because during the 1800s, women were not
allowed to borrow money without their husband s permission. While this is going on, Torvalds
best friend and a good friend of Noras who visits daily, Dr. Rank comes in the story. Dr.Rank

Native American Religion
The Mandans were a Native American tribe located in North Dakota plainlands. They endured hot
summers and cold winters and had many resources available to them.
Since the Mandans weren t really nomads, their most prevailing kind of dwelling was an earth
lodge. An earth lodge was made up of wooden frames covered with packed earth (A). When the
men of the tribe left to go on hunting trips, they would take tipis as temporary housing. According
to source B, it states that the Mandan also used teepees as a form of temporary shelter when they
went on buffalo hunts . In addition to hunting trips, the Mandans depended on many types of

four day ritual requiring lengthy preparation and self sacrifice of the participants (C). The
Mandans used many types of weapons, whether for hunting or for fighting. Some of their
weapons are bows and arrows, hatchet axes, stone clubs, and knives, according to source B.
Source B also states that the Mandans also used painted war shields were used on horseback as
means of defence . The leaders and chiefs of the tribe were always men, according to source D.
The same source also states that each village elected two leaders from the council of men who

The Best Foreign Country For Your Property Marketing
The Best Foreign Country for Your Property Marketing
To market to foreign buyers or not? This is the same powerful question as the famous To be or not
to be? As a real estate seller of just one private property or a developer with many properties or a
realtor you have to answer this question to yourself, having been equipped with all the preliminary
information you can gather before you start doing anything. Marketing costs money and takes time,
so, without thoughtful consideration and a solid marketing plan with a budget you do not have to
start spending money and wasting time at random.

and especially in California. Here are some internet media comments (2015):
The Chinese spend $22 billion a year for buying homes all over the U.S., but California is really
their darling market.
Local California realtors would do just anything to catch their slice of the Chinese pie. Their
marketing strategy includes property videos and websites in Chinese at least. One San Francisco
area real estate agency takes the Chinese buyers around and to open houses by a Mercedes, and
then to an air flight to show them the beauty of the Bay shores by a plane with the number 88 on it
the lucky Chinese eight is even doubled.
A Chinese big real estate investment firm becomes one of the most aggressive property buyers in
California. Their acquisitions prove that Chinese investors are at the top of the list of foreign
investors in the commercial properties in the U.S.
U.S. properties are the most attractive to the fast growing Chinese firms under the condition that
Chinese domestic real estate market is slowing down. The Chinese investors paid $3.9 billion for
the U.S. commercial properties last year, approximately 1% of all American commercial property
sales and more than investors from any foreign country except Canada and Norway.
The San Francisco mayor s office set up an organization aiming to promote Chinese investments in
the area. There definitely is a strong interest for Chinese companies to invest overseas, said the
executive director of ChinaSF.

The Role of Women in the Jain Religion
The Jain tradition was born in India, a small but powerful religion that grew up alongside
Buddhism and Hinduism. Like the other religions of India, Jainism teaches that when the body
dies, the soul (known to the Jain as a jiva) is reincarnated. Eventually, through living religious lives,
the soul will reach realization, the end of the process of death and rebirth. In his piece
Fundamentals of Jainism, Champat Rai Jain explains that, within the Jain tradition, the path of
salvation consists in Right Belief, Right Knowledge and Right Conduct, called the three Jewels (
Jain, 7.) One must know and understand the Jain tradition, believe what it is saying, and act in
accordance with those beliefs. In order to conduct his or herself properly, a person of the Jain
tradition must follow five vows. The most central statute of the Jain religion is the vow of Ahimsa,
which means non injury. The religion places great emphasis on the 4 other vows as well, Satya
(speaking only the truth) Asteya (taking only what is given,) Brahmacharya (chastity) and
Aparigraha (non possession.) (Kinsey, lecture 3/7.) The Jain religion, while similar in some ways to
Hinduism and Buddhism, is in many ways very unique. The respect that Jainism holds for all life is
entirely it s own. In his writing on Jainism, The Jain Tradition, Vasudha Narayana explains the
importance of the Jain saying Ahimsa

Collegiate Infractions
The NCAA and its student athletes deal with much more than are seen by the general public.
The coaches and players always have hidden agendas. Scandals or infractions are committed
every year in collegiate sports and are left unnoticed. The NCAA does its best in trying to keep
this under control but have difficulty doing so. Student Athletes receiving improper benefits and
breaking NCAA rules are a common group and information on these atrocities must be brought to
light. The receiving of improper benefits expand over a wide range of topics and areas. All forms

If an athlete is happy and performs well it reflects well on the coach and helps him to keep his
job. Ensuring the athletes play is the greatest goal for some coaches. Most athletes understand
this and in turn start to receive cash and other gifts because they know they can. They begin to
feel entitled to pay for play (Matt Ryan 3). The schools do not do much to prevent this from
happening though. They don t give extra food to athletes that do more physical activity than most
ordinary students. Neither do they offer more spacious room accommodations to larger athletes
that take up more space than the average student would. An athlete will not always take
advantages of their abilities for the cash. Some athletes are in dire need of money to help
themselves and their families. They may come from a low income household where they were
looked to for support. The importance of an athlete who was looked upon for support in the family
before college isn t as understood by the NCAA (McMurphy 6). The athletes and programs that are
caught are most always severely punished. They can be placed on restriction for various things. The
most common forms of punishment are a reduction of the scholarships allotted [or] post season
banning (NCAA Compliance 5). Being caught also suspends the athlete from all athletic
involvement. This could devastate the athlete but it is deserved. They would be eligible had they
not made the wrong decisions. They

Essay about Advertising In Baseball Stadiums
Introduction
Baseball is considered to be America s favorite pastime and has become popular all over the
world. This sport is watched by millions of people every time there is a game played. People
will go to the stadiums to watch and a lot of fans will watch the game on television. Since there
are so many people watching these games, advertising has become more and more apart of every
baseball stadium due to the amount of exposure a company can receive by using the many types of
ads found in a baseball stadium. The stadiums use billboards, fences, green screens, merchandise,
airplanes, names of stadiums, and scoreboards as all different ways to advertise a company s
product.

It is the background of the outfielders and whenever a ball is hit out there or someone wants to
look at the scoreboard, people have to look at the outfield and have really no choice to look at the
advertisements on the fences. GAP Inc. really benefited from company s putting there ads on the
fence, because left centerfield and right centerfield are called the gap in baseball leaving a lot of
stadiums to use GAP as their advertisement in that area on the fence. Fences are really useful due to
how visible they are throughout an entire game.
Green Screens
Technology is making advertising much easier in baseball stadiums and the use of green screens
is really starting to take off. Greens screens are only visible to fans watching the game on
television, but are very useful due to how easy it is to switch an advertisement during an inning
of the game. The green screens are usually located behind the umpire on the backstop to left of
batter s box for left handed batters. This is not a distraction to pitchers or infielders, because they
use a green screen which is similar to the centerfield sitting area. This area never sits any fans and
is either black or green in a stadium so that the batter is not distracted when a pitcher is throwing a
pitch. Marketers like the ads because they dominate the background behind the pitcher hitter
confrontation, which is the central image in a baseball telecast. Plus, if an advertisement takes

The Common Causes Of Weight Loss
One of the most common causes of weight loss is diabetes, this can range from a couple of
pounds to two three stone. Weight loss is usually due to the increased metabolism and
breakdown of muscle and fat due to insulin deficiency. Fluid depletion can also cause weight loss
from both Polydipsia and Polyuria. When an individual presents with these features it is
important for them to be picked up quickly otherwise Ketoacidosis can occur which may be fatal.
Ketones are made up of acetone and two organic acids beta hydroxybutyric acid and acetoacetic
acid. The liver and other cells can only process limited amounts of fatty acids, lipids and ketones
at any given time, any excess of keytones is then secreted into the blood causing ketoacidosis.
The binding of ketoacids and bicarbonate buffers within the blood, leading to an eventual
decrease of PH in the blood due to decreased levels of serum bicarbonate (Gould and Dyer, 2011:
551). As dehydration occurs within the kidneys the demand on glomerular filtration decreases and
so to does the excretion of acids leading to decompensated metabolic acidosis. Diabetic
ketoacidosis or hyperosmolar coma are mostly due to the hyperosmolarity of the blood, secondary
to hyperglycemiaand the result of this can be fatal if not treated within a short period of time Less
obvious presentation includes tiredness and weakness which is very common in uncontrolled
diabetes. Alongside these presenting features comes visual blurring and fungal

New Start Reflection
This summer I had the opportunity to do New Start a program for incoming freshmen at the
University of Arizona. The program is to support the transition from high school to college and
throughout the program you gain knowledge and tips not only just about the college but about
yourself. Using tools from class activities like SWOT and True Colors that helped me really
understand who I am and what are my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Within this
essay I will share with you my SWOT analysis and the things I learned about myself during the last
few weeks.
Strengths
Personal values I believe speak a great deal about a person and who they are and I learned that
my values reflect just that. During New Start we had an activity in class that forced us to pick
from a list of personal values and narrow them down and rank them in order of importance. My
top values included family, friends, school, and independence just to name a few. This activity
was especially challenging for me but in the end it helped me really look at what truly is
important to me. I had to apply this lesson from class in my life sooner than I expected. My
grandmother passed away during New Start and I had to decide if I wanted to miss school and
be with family but that also meant by missing school I d be missing out on important
information. In the end I choose to go to school the next day and be with my family afterwards.
That decision alone was very hard because in a situation such as mine there was a conflict of my
personal values my family is very important to me but school is just as important to me.
Although it was difficult for me to make that decision but the fact I had the ability to choose
between two of my own personal values is why I ve chosen to place knowing and understanding
my personal values as a strength. I know that throughout life there will be times when I will have
to choose once again between my personal values and as student like I ve mentioned earlier I m
going to make those decisions based on what matters to me and what won t always be there in the
end.
Another strength I have is goal setting towards the end of high school coming into this summer my
top goal was to get a job. I ve tried my best to

Rhetorical Devices Used In A Change To Come By Gcse
Sam Cooke, A Change is Gonna Come
Heralded by many as the anthem to the Civil Rights Movement, A Change is Gonna Come by
Sam Cooke was and still is one of the most influential songs of all time. The song was originally
released in 1964 on the album Ain t That Good News , but was released again as a single eleven
days after Sam Cooke s untimely death on the 11th of December, 1964.
There is no other social movement so effected by pop culture in the last century than the black
Civil Rights Movement in America during the 1960s. The music at the time had political
motivation and yet it was still enjoyed widely as pop music. Sam Cooke was one of the few
African American artists of his generation to successfully crossover and reach both a white and
black audience. In the midst of the Civil Rights Movement, Cooke was wary to ... Show more

He sings; I go to the movie and I go down town/Somebody keep telling me don t hang around ,
referring, of course, to the incident in the Louisiana. This lyric, while seeming innocuous, spoke
to all of his coloured fans as it was a situation they were all to familiar with. The middle eight,
which reads; Then I go to my brother / And I say, Brother, help me please. / But he winds up
knockin me / Back down on my knees. , is a phrase highlighting the aggression the movement
received from the police force during their marches. The very people meant to protect and serve
ended up being one of the biggest obstacles to overcome during the notorious peace walks.
Despite the air of anguish throughout, it is a song of hope. The famed lyrics; It s been a long, a
long time coming / But I know a change gon come , that appear at the end of every verse, are the
bones on which the whole song is built. Even after Cooke s death, this message remained one of
positivity and aspiration. His epitaph became a crutch for the movement to lean on instead of

The Disability Rights Movement Summary
In the book The disability rights movement I learned the history and process people with
disabilities have been going through in order to obtain an equality of rights in the United States.
The book was written by Doris Zames Fleisher and her sister Frieda Zames as a way of raising
awareness of the reality of people with disabilities. Frieda Zames an activist in favor of the
American disabilities act, wrote this book to tell the story of civil rights movement and to make
people aware of the struggles that people with disabilities go through at the same time raising the
word for equality. The book demonstrates how grievances regarding medical issues can be
addressed in a democratic society by giving examples such as the life of President Franklin D.
Roosevelt. As a significant figure in this movement, Franklin D. Roosevelt was the first president
with disabilities, who contracted polio eleven years before he became president. He was a
significant figure in the movement because he served as an example of the capabilities a person

How Did Pope John Paul II Impact The Catholic Church
Pope John Paul II was an important figure in the Catholic Church during his 26 year papacy. He

Pope John Paul II broke with tradition and a 2000 year old doctrine when he prayed with
pagans, heretics, and other religions around the world. Pope John Paul II inspired a day for
spirituality, specifically the day of prayer the pope convened in 1987 with religious leaders from
around the world. With not only a lecture on the interreligious experience of the Assisi Day of
Prayer, the pope stated, There are undeniably differences [in religions] that reflect the genius and
spiritual riches that God has given to the peoples (John Paul II, The Meaning of the Assisi Day,
562). His statement is extraordinary in that the pope is not only affirming that other religions have
the presence of God, but also that some religious differences could be due to other religions having
spiritual riches given by God that are unique to them. (Feldmeier, 18) This showed the Catholic
church and religious around the world that church acknowledges other religious, that we all have
spirituality in our different beliefs, and that combining other aspects of a religion can help with the
religious experience. This one day opened the new possibility that the church, it s followers, and
other s outside the religion can look upon. Engaging with other religions can make one spiritually
richer and theologically deeper than one would be without knowing about them. (Feldmeier, 18)

The Human Nature Of Humans
Many researchers have tested the theory that humans are naturally war loving. A fair viewpoint,
from the article Evolutionary Life , is that human nature is not one thing, neither good nor bad
overall. People in general have been genetically endowed by evolution with a wide variety of
tendencies and capacities that respond to but are not necessarily controlled or determined by their
environment (Atlee). With this, it s fair to draw a line between how humans were made to act and
how they act today. In the earliest stages of humanlife through the present, humans have fought,
hunted, and killed their way through life. Today s difference to the past is not much different
besides the means we use to go about the deeds. Businessmen, politicians, and numerous other
professions utilize harmful tactics in order to get what they desire. For example, a politician
exposes the underlying evils of another candidate in order to gain votes, much like how the
infamous Salem Witch Trials were pursued in the late seventeenth century when others cried
witch in order to avoid being tortured and killed themselves. While one may argue that cavemen
were, in some aspects, biologically different than we are today and that they were not exposed to
as much as we are, one cannot argue that we are not still instinctively caveman like. We hunt and
gather food; we create new and improved ways of killing enemies or food source; and when we don
t like how or what someone else is

Alan Turing s Impact On Modern Day World
Life of Imitation Father of Artificial Intelligence, inventor, Enigma breaker, war hero. The life
of mathematician Alan Turing is one of extreme feats and tragedy. Even from a young age,
Turing was misunderstood and unappreciated, and this became a common theme all the way to
his death at the young age of 41. Alan Turing envisions a digital world centuries ahead of his
time. Everything he did still has a major impact on our modern day world. Yet his impact is still
unrecognized. Alan Mathison Turing was born on June 23, 1912 in Maida Vale, London. Even
from a young age Turing showed signs of a genius, so his parents father Julius Mathison Turing

Summary Of Trophic Cascades In A Great Lakes Forest
The Summary of Trophic Cascades in a Great Lakes Forest This investigative study included
whether gray wolves, a natural top predator to white tailed deer, create a trophic effect by
reducing the deer and how it may affect saplings and vegetation in the Great Lakes forest area.
The study was not conducted for direct kills, instead it was done to see the effects of the deer
population and the plant and vegetation systems surrounding them. The expected effects were that
in areas where wolves are less dense in the region it causes an increase of deer having a negative
impact on plants and vegetation in the surrounding area. The recolonization of wolves in the area is
generating trait meditated effects in the Great Lakes forest and are... Show more content on

Scat surveys of the area were conducted to support the collar information. Other information
such as droppings, siting s, and tracks were also recorded and grouped with the surveys. Motion
activated and infrared cameras were used to monitor deer activity in the areas of high or low
wolf presence. Three images per trigger of each camera was taken. This information was
gathered over a three week period during deer season in June August. The information recorded
was compared with other studies including a trophic cascades study in the Rocky Mountains
area. The results showed differences in deer presence (in either high or low areas) in correlation
with wolf presence, resulting in impacts of plant and vegetation density in the areas. High wolf
areas contained larger saplings and vegetation diversity and comparisons of deer presence in low
wolf presence areas had negative impacts on sapling growth. Put together, the results suggest that
wolves have a substantial effect on white tailed deer and a positive impact on sapling and
vegetation growth in the Great Lakes forest area. These results supported previous research that
wolves have density and/or trait meditated effects on white tailed deer. They also provide
experimental and manipulated support for previous experiments suggesting that wolves generate
trophic cascades affecting sapling and vegetation growth in various regions, as well as the Great
Lakes forest area. The

American Experience Of Freedom Riders
If not us, then who? If not now, then when? This quote from John Lewis, a former Freedom
Rider I believe with those words perfectly describes why these Freedom Riders began their
journey. After reading the textbook, Visions of America and watching the video clip from
American Experience of Freedom Riders I was able to make myself knowledgeable about
Freedom Riders. Both the textbook and the video I thought engaged me into the information I was
either reading or listening. So, what exactly are Freedom Riders, what were the impacts of this
event and why is this so important to our history? In the year of 1961, civil rights activists gathered
and traveled together on buses to the segregated areas in the southern part of the United States....

The Life Of Helen Keller
Born inside a cage, but with every desire to escape and learn about the the intriguing world
outside it, Helen Keller s early life was dismal. Keller used the Habit of Mind Responding with
Wonderment and Awe to escape this cage and interact with the world outside it. Soon, her
interactions became changes, and her changes created a new and better way for blind and non

Consistency in the National School Lunch Program Essay
Claim
The National School Lunch Program needs to standardize and regulate their set nutritional
standards at all schools to help curb the growing prevalence of childhood obesity and other weight
related diseases.
What is the National School Lunch Program? The National School Lunch Program, or NSLP, is a
federally assisted meal program operating in over 101,000 public and non‐profit private schools
and residential childcare institutions. ( National school lunch, 2011) This government run program
is headed by the department of Food and Nutrition standards, a subgroup of the United States
Department of Agriculture. It provides nutritionally balanced, low‐cost or free lunches to more
than 31 million children each school day in 2009. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Schools that choose to take part in the lunch program get cash subsidies and donated commodities
from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for each meal they serve in return, they must
serve lunches that meet Federal requirements, and they must offer free or reduced price lunches to
eligible children. ( National school lunch, 2011) The school and government have a responsibility
to make sure the students receiving these reduced of free lunches have access to a meal that is
healthy and nutritious because this meal is their only option for lunch during the school day.
Current Nutritional Standards of the NSLP The lunch provided to students who are eligible for
reduced or free lunch is their only lunch option, since they cannot necessarily bring a packed
lunch from home. Because of this the USDA and the FNS have created guidelines that each
school must follow when creating these lunch programs. According to the USDA 2011, School
lunches must meet the applicable recommendations of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans,
which recommend that no more than 30 percent of an individual s calories come from fat, and
less than 10 percent from saturated fat. (USDA National school lunch, 2011) These guidelines
directly follow the standards set by the USDA for everyday nutrition and must be followed by the
school. The USDA has also created guidelines for other dietary allowances. The USDA in 2011
reported Regulations also establish a standard

The Steam Engine Essay
In the never ending search for energy sources, the invention of the steam engine changed the face of
the earth. (Siegel, Preface) The steam engine was the principal power source during the British
Industrial Revolution in the 18th century. The steam engine opened a whole new world to
everyone. The steam enginemaximized production, efficiency, reliability, minimized time, the
amount of labor, and the usage of animals. The steam engine in all revolutionized the Eastern
Hemisphere, mainly European society. What does revolutionize actually mean? It means that

The steel industry was also revolutionized through the use of the steam engine. Steel, smelted
from iron, was beaten, rolled or shaped on steam powered machines. This steel became very
cheap, and was able to be used for the railroad tracks, and also used later on in construction.
(Gordon). Without the steal to be shaped so fast by the steam engines, countries couldn t have
expanded its trade and travel the way it did. It is also said that, The water works and, in many
cases, the canals could not exist without steam power, for their very existence depended upon the
regular raising of large quantities of water to high levels. Steam was the only power that made this
possible. (The Penetration of the Industry by steam power) Without the steam engine, these
factories, mills, agricultural advances, and other industries could not have been revolutionized in
the way they were.
The steam engine used in means of travel revolutionized the transportation of goods, as well as
the importing and exporting of them. The steam powered railroad changed geography and history.
When grain merchants transported their goods by horsepower, they could go only so far before
the horse consumed more than it could carry. (Gordon) In this aspect, the steam engine in railroads
allowed people to import and export their goods on a faster, more reliable, source. Another major
effect of the steam engine on society

Hazel As A Leader In Watership Down By Richard Adams
In the book Watership Down by Richard Adams, Hazel proves in many ways that he is a leader.
Being a leader means having confidence, bravery, being trusted and worthiness. Everyday Hazel
shows that he is smart and confident by leading the rabbits to a new place to find food or a new
shelter. In the book Watership Downa few rabbits from the sandleford warren go on a mission
because Fiver, the smallest rabbit in the warren, says he can sense that something bad is coming.
Hazel believes Fiver and they go to find a new warren. While they are looking for a new warren

rabbits who end up joining them. Hazel is the main character, he is strong and confident.... Show

He is also always up for a risk even if it means that he is risking himself but he will not let others

doesn t know what he is going to find. They left the original warren because Fiver says he can
see into the future, he says something bad is going to happen soon so a couple of the rabbits
leave and they gather more rabbits along the way. Fiver and I will be leaving the warren tonight,
he said deliberately. I don t know exactly where we shall go, but we ll take anyone who is willing
to come with us (page 14). Hazel is strong and brave and is willing to go anywhere to help his
friends from not being harmed by anything that they may come across. Being brave really helps
the leader be a better leader than they already are because they are confident enough to do what
is needed although it may scare them. Although Hazel got injured because of the men that came
to kill and hurt the rabbits, he still powered through the pain and was a great leader even while
he was hurt. Hazel was strong even when he go hurt from running away from the men and
falling into a hole that he couldn t get out of. When Hazel was missing because he was in the
woods and injured his friends were looking for him because they need him around for them to be
safe. Hazel is great at doing what is needed like finding food to survive and helping others get
where they need to be. Hazel is always super supportive, for example when they were at the new
warren one day the went outside and they found an injured bird and Hazel demanded that they help
him and make him get better. Hazel told all of the other rabbits to find food for the bird Kehaar. I
believe it s starving, said Hazel. We d better feed it. Bigwig, go and get some worms or something.

The Revenge Tragedy Of Hamlet Essay
Issara Butt
Professor Abbott
English 102
November 30, 2016
The Revenge Tragedy of Hamlet Revenge tragedies share some common characteristics of the
play Hamlet which classify them in the group of many great stories such as The Spanish
Tragedy, and King Lear. A vengeful ghost, a play within a play, and the main character who
seeks revenge on an opponent and murdered (KAY). At some point in life many of us feel the
need to seek revenge and never actually act upon it, but what if we did? What would be the
consequences and what would life be like afterwards. The thoughts we have of this makes the
stories of revenge tragedies exciting and intriguing. They are our thoughts written on paper and into
a story making as if what we think is actually happening. In the time of Shakespearean writing,
things would have gone slightly different. The play Hamlet, is a prime example of a revenge
tragedy in its refined state of written speech. Hamlet is a revenge tragedy for many reasons, not
only that but it is the most written, re enacted, and read play of all time (TUMIEL). The multiple
plots of revenge, murders, and ghost appearances makes Hamlet the leading play of revenge
tragedies and most studied currently in academic curriculums. It is believed to be that William
Shakespeare s Hamlet was based off of Thomas Kyd s story, Ur Hamlet (MABILLARD). Although
Ur Hamlet was a rough and uncut version of a revenge tragedy and needed further developing, but
Shakespeare s Hamlet is well refined,

Compare And Contrast The Stability Of Political Parties
While creating the document that became the Constitution of the United States, the framers did
not incorporate any form of a political party system. The document did not encourage or
discourage political parties, and no mention of political parties is made throughout the original
text. Many individuals did not want political parties to form to refrain from disputes, and the first
president of the United States, George Washington, even warned against the formation of parties
fearing that the separation would not be good for the newly formed country. Despite early
resistance to the idea, political parties quickly formed because of differences in ideas of the people.

Political parties provide political stability in two different ways. First, political parties simplify
and bring together political processes that occur in the United States. Political parties act as a
conglomerate of ideas. Parties have the ability to combine and represent many different sub
groups under one large party. This process simplifies overly complicated political procedures.
Secondly, political parties provide stability by keeping the party that is in control in check. In
Separation of Parties, Not Powers, Daryl J. Levinson and Richard H. Pildes explain that
recognizing party competition as a central mechanism driving the institutional behavior that
separation of powers law aims to regulate (2006) is key to understanding how political stability is
created by parties. Because political parties are mostly against another party s decisions, parties that
do not control the majority will provide checks and actively point out any mistakes that the other
party makes. This system is crucial because competition is very important in providing the best
outcome for overall democracy. To conclude, political parties play a major role in government by
providing political

Explain Why Nobody Is Wrong
Nobody Is Wrong and If We Are, it s Not Our Fault
Studies show that a child s manners are most likely to be learned at a very young age.
Along with manners come a child s level of laziness and intensity, because of this children are able
to persevere through hard times and find ways to step it up when they mature. As a child my parents
raised me to the best of their ability and I would say 100% they did a great job and I m sure others
would agree. I was taught to be hard working versatile person who would go to the extreme for a

mentality,(which is why I plan on staying). I can now see that nobody likes to be wrong that
whatever they are doing it is either not their fault or it can be right if we fight for it enough. It
seems like nobody is fat anymore that they, have a thyroid problem, nobody is short they are
just, vertically challenged. Not only that but now people who are alcoholics are only alcoholics
because their father was a drunk and now they re a victim to his drinking. Gay people can t help
being attracted to the same sex they were born that way and because they re born that way why
should we discriminate. If a person says that homosexuality is wrong they will probably be told,
why do you have to hate or why do you have to judge. Growing up in modern American society is
the hardest challenge I have faced and will definitely get harder, but if you stay rooted in your
faith and actually be 100% about your faith you should have no problem living in an American
culture where you must be accepting of everyone. These are the things that have allowed me to

Alla Ajuera Summary
AllГЎ Ajuera is a dramatic poem that shows the exchange between a mother and a son. The son
wants to play outside, but his mom is afraid for him. He does not understand why his mother is so
against him going outside. He says to his mother quiero vivir allГЎ ajuera showing that the child
feels like he is not allowed to live freely if he is inside all of the time. His mother responds and tells

assumption that the boss is a white man and does not want her sonto go outside and play where the
boss s children are playing in fear of the children causing problems and her son being blamed and
her having to face any consequences. To avoid this, she does not want her son to play outside.
The son wants to be a child and be happy, but his mother wants to shield him from the harsh
reality that the world that he lived in did not want him to be happy. The son questions his mother
and asks her Father Josue says God loves us And he says we gonna be happy/When we die...tell me

The son is innocent and naive and does not know why he cannot be like the other children and have

God intended it to be and there is nothing that can be done to change the circumstances. Lastly, after

by reading the Bible daily, and mediating on the scripture both night and day. In this essay of
Christian theology, a new believer, or those that are an undecided believer of God, will know the
four sources of Christian theology, what makes the four sources important to Christian living, the
limitations of these four sources, and lastly the positive and negatives of philosophy and theology.
The four sources of Christian theology are: scripture, tradition, reason, and religious experience
(Blackwell, 2017 pg.104). Scripture is explained to be used for Christian living, and instruction
written by God. Old Testament tells of God s dealing with the Israelites, and how they lived
sinfully in the sight of God. While the Israelites did not live the way, God commanded them to live
which was by the Ten Commandment ways, God still loved them unconditionally even after he
punished them. When it comes to the New Testament, God s only begotten son Jesuscame unto the
scene. Jesus came to this world to seek and to save that which was lost Luke 19:10, Matthew

Taking a Look at Bitcoin
Introduction I thought of writing a paper on Bitcoin because this is a very interesting topic and
everyone tries to get into it, I will try to make this topic understandable by writing it in laymen s
language. Thanks to Professor Dr. Burnham who has given me this opportunity to write a paper
on Bitcoin. According to the name of Bitcoin when we first hear this word Bitcoin we create
image in our mind that there would be some coin kind of thing but there is no coin it is only a
digital currency. Bitcoin is a peer to peer payment system introduced as open source software in
2009 by developer Satoshi Nakamoto. Although it does not meet the generally recognized
definition of money, the digital currency created and used in the system is alternatively referred
to as a virtual currency, electronic money, or cryptocurrency. The bitcoin system is not controlled
by a single entity, like a central bank, which has led the US Treasury to call bitcoin a
decentralized currency.[1] US government is flexible in promoting Bitcoin while China
government does not allow bitcoin at all. This is actually not easy for any country to accept the
challenges involved in Bitcoin but still Bitcoin has launched its first ATM in Singapore because
Singapore is a very small country and it easy to manage if there will be any kind of issue faced at
any point of time there. How does bitcoin work? Whenever you initiate a payment using Bitcoin, it
simply means in bitcoin network that amount in your account

GM Controversy
By 2008, the recession impacted the global marketplace, as automobile sales declined. This time
period became problematic for GM since the company was near bankruptcy. After weeks on
Capitol Hill in an effort save GM, an automotive bailout package was approved during the
Obama Administration. Gm would receive bailout loans from the America, Canada, and the
Ontarian governments to address the recession, record oil prices, and a serious global
automotive crisis. As a result of GM s bankruptcy filing, the company would reorganize itself.
This meant that a popular brand like the Pontiac would be phased out, while GM focus on North
American brands like Cadillac, GMC, Chevrolet, and Buick. In 2009, the old GM was replaced by

Bullies In The Workplace
In schools, you will come across bullies in one form or another. In fact, bullies are commonplace
in American schools. The bullies will mock, look down, pressurize and ostracize you. They may
sometimes even cause physical harm to you. But is it possible that being bullied at school can
actually prepare you for the workplace? I believe so, as bullyingcan actually teach us to cope with
office politics and give us motivation to work harder and better in the workplace.
Firstly, being bullied in school can actually teach us how to cope with office politics in the
workplace. When students are being bullied, students are given immense stress, as they are
mentally tortured and feel depressed and stressed. You would have to learn how to cope with
bullying to survive. As in the workplace, there are office politics which you would have to cope
with, where people are constantly being stressed to outperform others to keep their job, and how to
cope with the tricks and manipulation techniques other people use to keep their job or climb the
ranks, things you have to constantly keep deal with. This coupled with the stress of working itself
gives the worker quite some stress. Being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When students are being bullied, students are given immense stress on their differences. Students
would naturally want to avoid being bullied, so they would have to come up with ways on how
to cope with bullying. But when they managed to cope with bullying, they would feel like they
managed to cope and live on in such a bad state and that they could accomplish anything. Many
other people have gone through such an experience, even famous ones, for example, Steve Jobs
got bullied before. People who have gone through such an experience have the motivation to work
better and harder in the workplace, which is good for everybody. Therefore, being bullied in
school can also give us motivation to work harder in the

Private Military Contractors
If someone were to ask about the United Sates military, a majority of people would be able to
describe it thoroughly; however, what most people do not know is that it is comprised of
mercenaries. Mercenaries, also known as private military contractors, are not an official part of the
United States military; Instead, they are highly skilled soldiers who work independently charging
large amounts of money to terminate enemies. The United Stateshas been hiring Blackwater, which
is a skilled mercenary group, to enter countries and eliminate enemies. The United Sates of America
needs to stop hiring private contractors because countless problems arise due to many contributing
factors.

Mercenaries need to be stopped being used because they allow governments to do whatever they
please without getting caught. Gilsinan argues, both [drones and private military companies]
should be part of the same category, because they allow national governments to get involved in
fighting without actually having citizens do it. And that creates moral hazard for policymakers,
because it lowers the barriers of entry into conflict (Gilsinan). When Private military contractors are
used they break any established laws to complete their mission. Governments use these contractors
because they realize that they can get away with breaking international laws by having the
mercenaries break them. This is atrocious because if the United States decides to keep using
contractors and these private contractors continue to break laws then conflict will appear. When
other governments begin to see hired contractors doing what they please they will begin consulting
with mercenaries as well. Borger analyzes, When the United States started to rely on private
military companies, it unleashed this new globalized industry of mercenaries. That s why we ve
seen a resurgence of them (Linehan). Mercenaries make war extremely easy because they can do
what they want. When other countries begin to see that the United States relies on mercenaries,
they will commence to hire them as

serious injuries, some of which fatal. A 2007 11 study conducted by the NSW transport, found that
over 1 in 7 people killed on the road are pedestrians, with distractions as a contributing factor to
deaths for the overwhelming majority. However these alarming statistics indicate that this is not

concern of driver fatalities and injuries cause by distracted driving from mobile phones. Crash
data statistics from 2010 2014 revealed that there were over 236 crashes where hand held

The Importance Of The Arc De Triomphe
The Arc de Triomphe is also another building that attracts many people who would be willing to
be part of the tourists visiting it. It is regarded as one of the most famous monuments around Paris
and is found centrally at the Palace Charles de Gaulle. The arc was established as an honor those
who fought and died for Francein the French Revolutionary as well as the Napoleonic Wars. The
arc also has, inscribed on it, the names of all the victories that France had as well as the names
of the generals who were critical towards ensuring that the country was able to attain the
victories (Duval, 2017.) The arc acts as an important tool for storing the French history. One has
the ability to establish the different issues that the nation has faced, as well as the huge sacrifice
that different people in the country put up towards ensuring that its sovereignty and dignity
would be sustained. It also as a good tool for students of history as it provides them with the
opportunity to gather more insights and facts of the two wars mentioned that France took part in
(Dente Tavasszy, 2016.) They are, therefore, able to determine some of the people who were
critical towards ensuring that the country would have the chance to win the wars and be able to
gain the level of respect it deserved from its peers during the time. The process would also mean
that such learners would be in a position to develop the need to visit other parts of Paris, with the

Mental Health Is Becoming Serious
The rapid escalation of youth and adults affected by mental health is becoming serious not just in
Indiana but all over the United States. In the last several years national tragedies and mass killings
such as Sandy Hook has placed our government in the position of reexamining and improving
access to mental healthtreatment. Although the government sees a great need for changing it s
unhurried I have witnessed mental health patients unable to get medication and have limited
access to mental health care due to lack of insurance or other barriers. Mental health comes in
many different faces some are being treated others are undiagnosed. The current economic crisis
and environmental violence has created a fracture within our community as we witness to an
increase in murders among youth we need to implement a change for our community in both
mental and social services there is a great need for committed individuals that are not in it for the
money but who are in this field because they care. This problem resonates deeply with me, I
want to continue to grow in this field that I ve been working in since I was twenty one years old
to assist with being part of the solution to our growing crisis. It is for this reason that I am
applying to the graduate program in social workat IUPUI. I seek the skills and knowledge needed to
get me to the next level of helping our community heal.

Descriptive Essay About A Cemetery
I visited the St. Andrews Cemetery and Mausoleum in Saginaw, Michigan. I went on June 10th,
2017 at 9am. This was a very large cemetery with different sections based on saint names. This
cemetery had a few walls throughout, with it, had headstones of those that pasted. There was no
designated children s section that I came across and found children headstones throughout the
cemetery. Some were with families and others had no one that I could tell was of relation. The
mausoleum had two rooms and wrapped all around the building with names of those who passed
away. While I was there I meet some of the grounds people getting ready for a buriallater that
afternoon. When I told them what I was doing there taking pictures and writing things down
they were very helpful to talk to me about the cemetery. They were unfortunately unable to help
me find the items on my list of observations to find because of size of the cemetery. There was a
lot of plots and not in any order for me to find my items. So, I just walked around on my
own.One of the first things I notice was a lot of married plots of husband and wife. They were all
very similar in style and had the intertwined rings with the names on either side. I also noticed that
some had pictures of the married couple in the headstonewhich I have never seen before and
thought that was very unique1. These pictures were of their wedding photo. A lot of these
headstones were not finished, as in either the husband or wife were still

Capturing the Reality of the Vietnam War in The Deer Hunter and Apocalypse Now
The Deer Hunter and Apocalypse Now are two films which deal, at a very personal level, with
American involvement in the Vietnam War. Although the style and narrative of each film are quite
different a strong theme of journeys is what binds the two films together, perhaps more so than the
theme of the Vietnam War itself. These are journeys of self discovery and self destruction and in
the sense that the central characters ideals become twisted by war and their value of life itself
diminished. It is possible to claim that these films provide salves for a wounded nation . In each
film the extreme slaughter of war is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like Satan questioned God s rule, Kurtz has questioned America s. When Satan chose to
challenge God s rule, the cause was unsound. The same applies in the case of Kurtz and America.
It is better to reign in Hell, than to serve in heaven John Milton. In Apocalypse Now , Colonel Kurtz
chooses to reign in hell (the jungle). I believe that the feature of man s breaking point and
temptation of man to play God is historically accurate but also allows America to offload some of
the blame onto members of the army who rebelled against American leadership.
During Apocalypse Now , Francis Ford Coppola uses plenty of imagery to get across to the
viewer the confusion and horror of war. The first example of this is when we hear the voice
recording of Kurtz in the jungle. He talks about his nightmare where he sees a snail crawling
along the edge of a straight razor . This snail represents Colonel Kurtz as, in his insanity, he is
confused between good and evil and the temptation to play God. Kurtz does end up playing God.
He calls him Vietnamese followers his children and they also worship him like a God. In the
intelligence compound at the start of the film, the officer there describes how war causes a conflict
in every human heart . Kurtz is a good example that, although choice and

Inherit The Wind Essay
Inherit the Wind Legal Analysis Brief Aakriti Gera
Inherit the wind is a 1960 movies directed by Stanley Kramer. The movie follows the story about
of two lawyers who argue the case for and against, respectively, about a case where a science
teacher is accused of crime of teaching evolution. The Monkey Trial which takes places in 1925
has placed a high school teacher on trial for violation of a state law. The law states that teaching
any scientific material; in this case, the Darwin s theory of evolution was prohibited.
The basic conflict here is the two opposing sides. On one hand are scientific truths that can be
tested and religious beliefs, which cannot be. Hence, it would be fair to say that this conflict goes
beyond the schoolteacher. It becomes an important conflict between blind, outdated faiths and the
rational facts. The residents of the city stand as an example of the conservative or the rural mindset
that turn a blind to new ideas. In the trial Cates goes to challenge the law and the outlandish norms
of the Hillsboro society. Even though every person in the town is against him, this does not deter
him to continue his fight and cause. Another part to be noted is the illiteracy of the town. An
illiterate judge called Mr. Bannister heads the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

example, Brady on the witness stand out right rules out any considerations to the lawyers question
on some inconsistencies in the bible. He is so used to looking at the opinion in one light that even
if he might be wrong. Hence, the lawyers here are important. Professional needs to have a broad

Covert Action Examples
As we seen in the readings, covert action is a third option in itself regardless of whether it is
accepted or not to US policy. The readings give many examples which present themselves as
appropriate actions to take in previous cases mentioned. One of the cases is the US involvement in
the Afghan Soviet War resulting in the Soviet Unionwithdrawing from Afghanistan. (Clark, 2007)
This may be interpreted as a future issue, but nonetheless giving assistance pushed the Soviets out
of Afghanistan. The paramilitary and equipment assistance given to the Mujahedeen gave them the
ability to fight the Soviet Invaders to the point of becoming detrimental and pushing the military
force out. During WWII an involvement of Covert Action became necessary... Show more content

(Hulnick, 2002) The times in which cover action is needed the most is when military action is
too large and political action will not have a substantial effect. The ability to use black
propaganda would discredit the organization and pull support the organization would need to
survive. (Clark, 2007) With paramilitary actions, the training and equipping of forces to counter
the terror groups would be able to bring the ability to strike without using large military forces.
Essentially, parliamentary actions would be using the indigenous population to become a proxy
military. (Clark, 2007) The ability to affect the terror groups and criminal elements with covert
actions gives the ability to affect these groups actions without having to use large scale military
objectives and maintain the plausible deniability in the instance where the operations fail. (Clark,
2007) The need for foreign policy remains, but in certain cases having the ability to use covert
actions bridges the gap. If an enemy cannot be reasoned with or a rogue nation decides to place
the US in its crosshairs for a Nuclear Strike, covert action is taken after policy

Essay On High Stakes Testing
The Talk About The Bitter Test Standardized high stakes testing is necessary in today s school
systems and policies within education. The fate of annual standardized testing is being considered
as Congress debates the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA),
also known as the No Child Left Behind Act (Evans, 2015). Testing in its current form may seem
detrimental to student learning, but the only thing worse than standardized testing is not having
testing at all (Evans, 2015). Standardized High stakes Testingis necessary because it serves as a
platform for guiding students and teachers, it s a great measurement tool on an individual s
performance, it helps prepare administration and it also provides a level playing field.
First, standardized high stakes testing serves as a platform for guiding students and teachers.
Students and teachers needs high stakes testing because the test allows them to know what material
is important to teach and learn. High Stakes testing helps inform decisions about the curriculum and
instruction (Nichols and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Standardized high stakes testing could be dangerous due to multiple corruptions within the
education administrations in the school systems (Nichols and Berliner, 2007, pg.6). First,
standardized high stakes testing shows a correlation between increased drop out rates (Amrein and
Berliner, 2002, pg.2). Another warning about the dangerous side effects of standardized high
stakes testing surfaced when a plan a pay teachers on the basis of their students scores was
offered, making student test scores very high stakes testing. (Roderick and Bryk, 2007, pg.11).
Lastly, standardized high stakes testing encourages teachers to watch the examiners foibles and to
note his idiosyncrasies to prepare for questions that were more likely to appear on the testing which
can lead to failure within the classroom (Wall, 2000,

Public Safety Leadership
Unit 8 Assignment 1
Ann Marie Cameron

Dr. O Connor
June 7, 2015
Introduction
In today s world a leader in any position must lead, but a leader in the public safety field must be
capable of managing, as well as being able to understand and identify a crisis. Within the public
safety arena having this type of leadership skills have become progressively necessary as global
disasters and other crisis has been on the rise in the past decade. Nonetheless, leaders that tackle
the crisis leadership concept sometimes tends to mainly focus on how crisis organization is
perceived verses focus on the associations which is more of a tactical way of leadership.

We also hope that the research will define how often we should conduct this type of research since
it is so rarely conduct, this way we will be able to have more of a statistical overview of this
research.
Literature Review
For this research literature review we opted to set our context of this research that will concentrate
on two questions which are: 1) Crisis leadership, and 2) leadership issues that might occur during a
crisis and the organizations differentiating goals.
Understanding the meaning of Crisis leadership Before we move on with our research we need to
define what crisis leader should do. Well, James and Wooten (2005), states that a crisis leader
should always be scanning the environment to detect signals of crisis. Therefore, once a leader has
detected a crisis, then the leader should implement steps that should include: containment and
damage control for their communities safety; prevention and preparation; learning from past
events; and recovery. There are some leaders that believe that not all public safety leaders have
learned their lesson from other analyzation or research studies on crisis. Thereby, crisis leadership
requires that decision to be made quickly to limit damage to the community, employees,
stakeholders, and organization ( Crisis Management , n.d.). So, if we cannot prevent this type of

  • 2. Persian Constitutionalism The Persian Constitutional Movement led to the creation of the Majlis and the Government Gendarmerie, which were quite active throughout the Great War. In the Iranian Nationalism and Government Gendarmerie, historian Stephanie Cronin, a fellow of Oriental Studies at Oxford University, argues that Gendarme offices were propelled to national leadership and led the fight against foreign intervention during the Great War. The Gendarmerie Government utilized various strategies, imperial and domestic, to help reverse Irans political chaos and eventual burnout. Cronin uses a chronological approach to capture the social political history of Gendarme officers, which was established during the Qajar Dynasty. The shah wanted to modernize the Iranian... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout her article, Cronin uses a political discourse to demonstrate how the Gendarmerie gained their power in a short period of time. Unlike any of her contemporaries, she uses Persian sources to provide insight into the said discourse. She s uses Persian archival documents, such as Tarikh i Zhandarmiri yi Iran, that provide insight to on the Government Gendarmerie, which truly enriches her narrative. Persian sources describe the state s position during the Great War in a first hand account and this attributes to the states participation in keeping their own agency throughout the war. Olson uses British sources and narrative, like Grey s memoirs and Malcolm s text, to illustrate Persia s involvement as the middleman; Majd follows this same approach with use of State Department documents to view things from an American perspective. Thus, the use of sources influences the language and tone used in the scholarship. Both Majd and Olson use a neutral tone that describes Persia as lifeless state that seemed almost helpless, but Cronin argues that people worked within the system to change their fate. More importantly, this political rhetoric developed out Curzon s interpretation of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Role Of Gap Years Essay The role of gap years to earn a higher education is a controversial idea. Many people feel it is important to take on Europe s natural participation in the gap year after high school. For countless years, Europeans have practiced gap years before college to help a graduate grow. Prince William of Europe took his beneficial gap year, helping the idea to spread to America (Kelly para. 1) British influences have been leading America to a stronger future, and taking a gap year after high schoolis now being adopted by the States. Certain students participating in the gap year enhance their emotional and physical states before entering college. Also, some believe that taking a gap year will influence the student to reject a higher education. On the other hand, taking a gap year after high school can be expensive, but the experiences you receive from it are priceless. Based on these different perspectives, I most closely agree with the fact that taking a break from school before jumping into a higher educationcan help a graduate grow and find themselves. Many people believe taking a gap year after high school will discourage a higher education because the student is not likely to go back to school after taking a break. Due to this thought, parents of new graduates are not openly supportive of gap years. Cases of students who take a gap year and do not pursue a higher education are the ones thrown into the spotlight. The wide concern of students giving up their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She did so because Torvald was sick from overworking and doctors told her he needed to move South to a warmer climate. Without Torvalds approval, Nora borrowed money from a man named Krogstad who controls the bank Torvald is about manage. This was a bold act, because during the 1800s, women were not allowed to borrow money without their husband s permission. • 7. Role Of Of The Jain Religion Shoshana Pollack April 19 2015 RLST:1620003 Final Paper The Role of Women in the Jain Religion The Jain tradition was born in India, a small but powerful religion that grew up alongside Buddhism and Hinduism. Like the other religions of India, Jainism teaches that when the body dies, the soul (known to the Jain as a jiva) is reincarnated. Eventually, through living religious lives, the soul will reach realization, the end of the process of death and rebirth. In his piece Fundamentals of Jainism, Champat Rai Jain explains that, within the Jain tradition, the path of salvation consists in Right Belief, Right Knowledge and Right Conduct, called the three Jewels ( Jain, 7.) One must know and understand the Jain tradition, believe what it is saying, and act in accordance with those beliefs. In order to conduct his or herself properly, a person of the Jain tradition must follow five vows. The most central statute of the Jain religion is the vow of Ahimsa, which means non injury. The religion places great emphasis on the 4 other vows as well, Satya (speaking only the truth) Asteya (taking only what is given,) Brahmacharya (chastity) and Aparigraha (non possession.) (Kinsey, lecture 3/7.) The Jain religion, while similar in some ways to Hinduism and Buddhism, is in many ways very unique. The respect that Jainism holds for all life is entirely it s own. If an athlete is happy and performs well it reflects well on the coach and helps him to keep his job. Ensuring the athletes play is the greatest goal for some coaches. Most athletes understand this and in turn start to receive cash and other gifts because they know they can. They begin to feel entitled to pay for play (Matt Ryan 3). The schools do not do much to prevent this from happening though. They don t give extra food to athletes that do more physical activity than most ordinary students. Neither do they offer more spacious room accommodations to larger athletes that take up more space than the average student would. An athlete will not always take advantages of their abilities for the cash. Some athletes are in dire need of money to help themselves and their families. They may come from a low income household where they were looked to for support. The importance of an athlete who was looked upon for support in the family before college isn t as understood by the NCAA (McMurphy 6). This sport is watched by millions of people every time there is a game played. People will go to the stadiums to watch and a lot of fans will watch the game on television. Since there are so many people watching these games, advertising has become more and more apart of every baseball stadium due to the amount of exposure a company can receive by using the many types of ads found in a baseball stadium. It is the background of the outfielders and whenever a ball is hit out there or someone wants to look at the scoreboard, people have to look at the outfield and have really no choice to look at the advertisements on the fences. GAP Inc. really benefited from company s putting there ads on the fence, because left centerfield and right centerfield are called the gap in baseball leaving a lot of stadiums to use GAP as their advertisement in that area on the fence. Fences are really useful due to how visible they are throughout an entire game. Green Screens Technology is making advertising much easier in baseball stadiums and the use of green screens is really starting to take off. Greens screens are only visible to fans watching the game on television, but are very useful due to how easy it is to switch an advertisement during an inning of the game. The green screens are usually located behind the umpire on the backstop to left of batter s box for left handed batters. This is not a distraction to pitchers or infielders, because they use a green screen which is similar to the centerfield sitting area. This area never sits any fans and is either black or green in a stadium so that the batter is not distracted when a pitcher is throwing a pitch. Marketers like the ads because they dominate the background behind the pitcher hitter confrontation, which is the central image in a baseball telecast. When an individual presents with these features it is important for them to be picked up quickly otherwise Ketoacidosis can occur which may be fatal. Ketones are made up of acetone and two organic acids beta hydroxybutyric acid and acetoacetic acid. The liver and other cells can only process limited amounts of fatty acids, lipids and ketones at any given time, any excess of keytones is then secreted into the blood causing ketoacidosis. The binding of ketoacids and bicarbonate buffers within the blood, leading to an eventual decrease of PH in the blood due to decreased levels of serum bicarbonate (Gould and Dyer, 2011: 551). As dehydration occurs within the kidneys the demand on glomerular filtration decreases and so to does the excretion of acids leading to decompensated metabolic acidosis. Diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperosmolar coma are mostly due to the hyperosmolarity of the blood, secondary to hyperglycemiaand the result of this can be fatal if not treated within a short period of time Less obvious presentation includes tiredness and weakness which is very common in uncontrolled diabetes. • 14. New Start Reflection This summer I had the opportunity to do New Start a program for incoming freshmen at the University of Arizona. The program is to support the transition from high school to college and throughout the program you gain knowledge and tips not only just about the college but about yourself. Using tools from class activities like SWOT and True Colors that helped me really understand who I am and what are my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Within this essay I will share with you my SWOT analysis and the things I learned about myself during the last few weeks. Strengths Personal values I believe speak a great deal about a person and who they are and I learned that my values reflect just that. During New Start we had an activity in class that forced us to pick from a list of personal values and narrow them down and rank them in order of importance. My top values included family, friends, school, and independence just to name a few. This activity was especially challenging for me but in the end it helped me really look at what truly is important to me. I had to apply this lesson from class in my life sooner than I expected. My grandmother passed away during New Start and I had to decide if I wanted to miss school and be with family but that also meant by missing school I d be missing out on important information. In the end I choose to go to school the next day and be with my family afterwards. That decision alone was very hard because in a situation such as mine there was a conflict of my personal values my family is very important to me but school is just as important to me. Although it was difficult for me to make that decision but the fact I had the ability to choose between two of my own personal values is why I ve chosen to place knowing and understanding my personal values as a strength. I know that throughout life there will be times when I will have to choose once again between my personal values and as student like I ve mentioned earlier I m going to make those decisions based on what matters to me and what won t always be there in the end. Another strength I have is goal setting towards the end of high school coming into this summer my top goal was to get a job. I ve tried my best to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rhetorical Devices Used In A Change To Come By Gcse Sam Cooke, A Change is Gonna Come Heralded by many as the anthem to the Civil Rights Movement, A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke was and still is one of the most influential songs of all time. The song was originally released in 1964 on the album Ain t That Good News , but was released again as a single eleven days after Sam Cooke s untimely death on the 11th of December, 1964. There is no other social movement so effected by pop culture in the last century than the black Civil Rights Movement in America during the 1960s. The music at the time had political motivation and yet it was still enjoyed widely as pop music. He sings; I go to the movie and I go down town/Somebody keep telling me don t hang around , referring, of course, to the incident in the Louisiana. The middle eight, which reads; Then I go to my brother / And I say, Brother, help me please. / But he winds up knockin me / Back down on my knees. , is a phrase highlighting the aggression the movement received from the police force during their marches. The very people meant to protect and serve ended up being one of the biggest obstacles to overcome during the notorious peace walks. Despite the air of anguish throughout, it is a song of hope. The famed lyrics; It s been a long, a long time coming / But I know a change gon come , that appear at the end of every verse, are the bones on which the whole song is built. The Disability Rights Movement Summary In the book The disability rights movement I learned the history and process people with disabilities have been going through in order to obtain an equality of rights in the United States. The book was written by Doris Zames Fleisher and her sister Frieda Zames as a way of raising awareness of the reality of people with disabilities. Frieda Zames an activist in favor of the American disabilities act, wrote this book to tell the story of civil rights movement and to make people aware of the struggles that people with disabilities go through at the same time raising the word for equality. The book demonstrates how grievances regarding medical issues can be addressed in a democratic society by giving examples such as the life of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. As a significant figure in this movement, Franklin D. Roosevelt was the first president with disabilities, who contracted polio eleven years before he became president. He was a significant figure in the movement because he served as an example of the capabilities a person with a disabilities can have. He was also an advocate of... Pope John Paul II broke with tradition and a 2000 year old doctrine when he prayed with pagans, heretics, and other religions around the world. Pope John Paul II inspired a day for spirituality, specifically the day of prayer the pope convened in 1987 with religious leaders from around the world. With not only a lecture on the interreligious experience of the Assisi Day of Prayer, the pope stated, There are undeniably differences [in religions] that reflect the genius and spiritual riches that God has given to the peoples (John Paul II, The Meaning of the Assisi Day, 562). His statement is extraordinary in that the pope is not only affirming that other religions have the presence of God, but also that some religious differences could be due to other religions having spiritual riches given by God that are unique to them. (Feldmeier, 18) This showed the Catholic church and religious around the world that church acknowledges other religious, that we all have spirituality in our different beliefs, and that combining other aspects of a religion can help with the religious experience. • 18. The Human Nature Of Humans Many researchers have tested the theory that humans are naturally war loving. A fair viewpoint, from the article Evolutionary Life , is that human nature is not one thing, neither good nor bad overall. People in general have been genetically endowed by evolution with a wide variety of tendencies and capacities that respond to but are not necessarily controlled or determined by their environment (Atlee). With this, it s fair to draw a line between how humans were made to act and how they act today. In the earliest stages of humanlife through the present, humans have fought, hunted, and killed their way through life. Today s difference to the past is not much different besides the means we use to go about the deeds. Businessmen, politicians, and numerous other professions utilize harmful tactics in order to get what they desire. For example, a politician exposes the underlying evils of another candidate in order to gain votes, much like how the infamous Salem Witch Trials were pursued in the late seventeenth century when others cried witch in order to avoid being tortured and killed themselves. While one may argue that cavemen were, in some aspects, biologically different than we are today and that they were not exposed to as much as we are, one cannot argue that we are not still instinctively caveman like. The life of mathematician Alan Turing is one of extreme feats and tragedy. Even from a young age, Turing was misunderstood and unappreciated, and this became a common theme all the way to his death at the young age of 41. The study was not conducted for direct kills, instead it was done to see the effects of the deer population and the plant and vegetation systems surrounding them. This information was gathered over a three week period during deer season in June August. The information recorded was compared with other studies including a trophic cascades study in the Rocky Mountains area. The results showed differences in deer presence (in either high or low areas) in correlation with wolf presence, resulting in impacts of plant and vegetation density in the areas. High wolf areas contained larger saplings and vegetation diversity and comparisons of deer presence in low wolf presence areas had negative impacts on sapling growth. Put together, the results suggest that wolves have a substantial effect on white tailed deer and a positive impact on sapling and vegetation growth in the Great Lakes forest area. Yenko Sports Cars, based in Pennsylvania, along with other Chevy dealers such as Nickey in Chicago, Dana in California, and Baldwin Motion in New York, would install the L72 427 cid block, rated at 425bhp by Chevrolet, ordered under the Central Office Production Order System (COPO) code 9562 into a buyer s Camaro. The Yenko Camaro 427 is typical of the breed; it came from the factory with no ornamentation, badging, and the 427 in a crate. Yenko installed the 427 block, changed the rating to a more realistic 450bhp, and added 15 inch rally wheels, bigger front roll bar, and sYc (Yenko Sports Car) badging. A full complement of racing add ons were available and sub 13 second quarter miles were possible with a few more dollars. Overshadowing these dealer souped up Camaros was the factory Camaro ZL1. The Revenge Tragedy Of Hamlet Essay Issara Butt Professor Abbott English 102 November 30, 2016 The Revenge Tragedy of Hamlet Revenge tragedies share some common characteristics of the play Hamlet which classify them in the group of many great stories such as The Spanish Tragedy, and King Lear. A vengeful ghost, a play within a play, and the main character who seeks revenge on an opponent and murdered (KAY). At some point in life many of us feel the need to seek revenge and never actually act upon it, but what if we did? What would be the consequences and what would life be like afterwards. The thoughts we have of this makes the stories of revenge tragedies exciting and intriguing. They are our thoughts written on paper and into a story making as if what we think is actually happening. In the time of Shakespearean writing, things would have gone slightly different. The play Hamlet, is a prime example of a revenge tragedy in its refined state of written speech. Hamlet is a revenge tragedy for many reasons, not only that but it is the most written, re enacted, and read play of all time (TUMIEL). The multiple plots of revenge, murders, and ghost appearances makes Hamlet the leading play of revenge tragedies and most studied currently in academic curriculums. First, political parties simplify and bring together political processes that occur in the United States. Political parties act as a conglomerate of ideas. Parties have the ability to combine and represent many different sub groups under one large party. This process simplifies overly complicated political procedures. Secondly, political parties provide stability by keeping the party that is in control in check. In Separation of Parties, Not Powers, Daryl J. Levinson and Richard H. Pildes explain that recognizing party competition as a central mechanism driving the institutional behavior that separation of powers law aims to regulate (2006) is key to understanding how political stability is created by parties. Because political parties are mostly against another party s decisions, parties that do not control the majority will provide checks and actively point out any mistakes that the other party makes. This system is crucial because competition is very important in providing the best outcome for overall democracy.
