Ethics and Live Tissue Training
The Ethical Dilemma of Live Tissue Training in the Military Environment
By
Aaron Smith
22 September 2012
Thesis: Over the past 11 years to date, the United States has endured almost 8000 casualties from
two major conflicts (iCasualties.org, 2012). Although this number is staggering, we have also seen
soldiers surviving injuries that were previously fatal (Philpott, 2005). This increase in survivability
is largely due to the advancements in medical research and applied training. When it comes to
military trauma, our warrior medics should be equipped with the most realistic training attainable.
Although several simulation aids are used to provide this training, other methods such as live tissue
training are still employed. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a recent media source, PETA defended their stance, stating, they can drug an animal up, but they
are sentient creatures that still feel pain and fear by being treated as a disposable commodity
(Gordon, 2009). The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) agrees with PETA
stating, Because widely validated and accepted non animal alternatives for chemical casualty
management and combat trauma training courses exist, there is no justification for the use of live
animals for these training purposes (PCRM).
Stakeholder Analysis: There are several individuals and organizations affected by this ethical
dilemma. First and foremost are the casualties down range. Having highly trained personnel ready
to treat and manage wounds on the battlefield is paramount in the survivability of these injured
soldiers. Is the potential increase in fatalities on the battlefield justified by the elimination of live
tissue training for warrior medics? When it comes to this life versus life assessment, which way is
the most ethical choice?
Secondly, the medically trained personnel must be taken into consideration. Without the most
realistic training available, combat medics will not be as prepared to properly assess and treat
casualties. A Marine Corps Staff Sergeant is quoted in saying, I can honestly say that the military
training that I received did not prepare me nearly as well as the live tissue training. I had to

The Legend Of The Chosen
Legend of the Chosen
Much of the Earth s landscape had been changed by The Great Wars, the war that caused the
holocaust, but some landmarks still remain. And these wars rearranged the planet s geographical
attributes and wiped out most human life on Earth. Each land was renamed after the compass point
it faced; the Northland, the Southland, the Eastland, and the Westland. Towers, buildings, homes,
Helicopters, towers, and buildings are in ruins, but have been in this state for quite some time, with
layers of moss and green vines covering them. Most advanced technologies had also been lost, but
magic had been discovered. During this time era, mankind mutated into several distinct races;
Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, and Trolls.
The Elves, extremely long lived and possessing great magic, created the Elfstonts. As a necessary
balance to the light, darkness was also created in the beginning of time; from this darkness, the
Demons were born. After years of battle between the light and the dark, the Elves summoned their
greatest magic and created the Forbidding, a spell that imprisoned the Demons beyond the confines
of the world. They also created the Ellcrys, a beautiful silver elvish tree with crimson leaves to
maintain the Forbidding. Unfortunately, this drained nearly all the strength of the Elves, leaving
them with very little magic.
In time, Elves came to resemble more and more of the human race that had recently evolved, both
in strength and longevity. Afraid of the

Chronic Diseases Are The Leading Cause Of Disease
Chronic diseases are the leading cause of death and disability in the United States. Chronic
diseases and conditions such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, type 2 diabetes, and obesity are the
most common, costly, and preventable of all health problems. In 2012, about half of adults had one
or more chronic health conditions. In 2010, seven out of ten causes of death were chronic diseases
(Centers for DiseaseControl and Prevention, 2016). Cardiovascular Disease(CVD) is the leading
cause of death in Dallas County, Texas (Edwards et al., 2012). Cardiovascular disease is the

Soccer Is The Best Sport Essay
Soccer is, by far, the best sport in the world. Many might disagree with this statement, but I think
that soccer should be considered the greatest. The fans cheer louder, there is more blood, sweat,
and tears, and soccer requires you to think more than different sports. The passion between the
fans and the players is indescribable unless you experience it first hand. There are many reasons
to why soccer is the best sport, some being: it is the most popular sport around the world, it is one
of the hardest sports to learn and pick up on, and I have been playing soccer my entire life so
therefore it has to be the best. Soccer is it is the most popular sport. Soccer originated in
England, but China claimed to have also played a similar game of passing and kicking the ball into
a goal. In America, we call the sport soccer, but originally it was called football and it is still known
as football to this day in all other parts of the world.. There are twenty one professional leagues
across the world, but some of the main leagues are the MLS, or Major League Soccer, The Premier
League, UEFA Champions League, and La Liga. There are nearly sixty stadiums in England alone
and most of the largest stadiums in the world are soccer stadiums and have the capacity of over
70,000. When there is a game, the entire city becomes a party before the game, and when the
favorite team of that city wins, there is a party after the game that goes on until the team plays
again. The fans of soccer are

Why Companies Use Marketing Channels
Why companies use marketing channels and discuss the functions of these channels performance.
To create value for customers, most of companies cannot go it alone. It works within the whole

Amazon also offers international shipping for several other countries for some of its products.
In 2015, Amazon surpassed Walmart as the most valuable retail stores in United State.
As shown in the Amazon, a good distribution strategies contribute strongly to our customer value
and create a competitive advantage for the company. But companies cannot achieve value for
customers by themselves. Instead, we must work closely with other companies in the delivery of
the value of a larger network.
Amazon.com changed the face of retailing and become the Walmart of the Internet to sell

of the overall channel, all channel firms work together seamlessly. We must understand and accept
their roles, coordinate goals and activities, and cooperation to achieve the overall objectives of the

B-25 Mitchell Research Papers
The B 25 Mitchell is a plane that was used as a medium bomber during World War II by The Army
Air Corp. The Reason for its creation was because of the need of a new and improved medium
bomber. This bomber went on to be a major role in The Doolittle Raid. The company known as
North American Aviation to date has created nearly 10,000 B 25 Mitchells. Over the four decades
of service the B 25 Mitchell came across many new and improved models such as the B 25A B
25H. The B 25 is one of the most well known bombers during World War II and is a symbol of just
how powerful America was in the war. In the year of 1938 the Army Air Corp was looking for a

Out of all theses models the most popular where the B 25A, B 25B, and the B 25C. When the B
25A was first created it was limited to a three man crew with a light armor shell and two
operating gun turrets. After seeing that technology was becoming a big role in military, North
American Aviation took the B 25A back to the drawing board. After making a few minor
adjustments, the North American Aviation B 25B rolled off the assembly line. The all new B
25B had a brand new autopilot system aboard, while being able to accommodate a six man crew,
gaining to new power operated gun turrets but in the end losing the tail gunner. While the B 25B
was going into service North American Aviation was already back at it thinking of new and
improved ways to already make the aircraft better than it already was. This ended up leading to
the creation of the new structurally, and mechanically modified B 25C. How the new aircraft
was structurally modified is by the change in the aircraft s dihedral which lead to the aircraft
being more stable while in flight. The new and improved B 25C also included and new
plexiglass window for the navigator, new deicing components to keep ice from forming on the
wings, and also included heavier weaponry in the nose of the aircraft to help keep the B 25C

Plenitude Case
Plenitude s Position in the US Market 1996:
Plenitude s position has been bumped from 3rd position behind Pond to 2nd position behind Oil of
Olay who is the market leader in the skin care industry. The move of Plenitude s position to second
position has been due to the introduction of a new product Revitalift known with L Oreal. Revitalift
is the 20th brand product of Plenitude s product line sold in the US in a 1.7 ounce container and
sales for $11.05 per unit.
Revitalift was introduced in September, 1995 and quickly came to represent 20% of Plenitude sales
with the support of $5M in TV advertising which continued through 1996 to date.

Through Growing Up On A Family Farm In A Rural Community
Through growing up on a family farm in a rural community I have been fortunate enough to fall
in love with the agriculture sector. In discovering my passion for agriculture I have pursued a
career as a Corn Specialist for AgriGold, of which we will be discussing throughout this essay.
AgriGold is a company within the Agricultural Sector that in the past had solely focused on
selling seed corn, but as we will discuss later they now offer soybeans and a technology platform.
They are the 3rd largest seed corn company in the United Statesand their parent company is
AgReliant Genetics located in Westfield, IN.

For the simple fact that you aren t sending post cards out to everyone, you are also able to create
the overall effectiveness of the advertisement. The overall effectiveness will be benefited due to the
fact that you will be advertising only to the potential customers of your market.
When you look at the product that is being advertised by AgriGold, you have to consider a few
different things when determining where it lies exactly within its life cycle. When you consider
the product to be seed corn itself, the product has reached maturity and is beginning to enter the
declining stage. What is meant by this is the fact that seed corn solely as a product has been sold
for centuries and has reached its maximum penetration point within the market (given that people
continue with their traditional crop rotation strategies). Yet, I said that it is beginning to enter into
the declining stage. When I say that seed corn is beginning to enter the declining stage I am
referring to the fact that there is only a limited amount of land available to plant. As the
populations grow, there is less land that is used for agricultural purposes, which ultimately
correlates into declining demand for seed corn. While seed corn will always remain a very
important and high value product, there

Who Is Brutus Use Of Flattery In Julius Caesar
The final years of the Roman Republic were a time plagued with political deception and secret
alliances. Numerous political figures of the time employed deceptive tactics. Antony, with his ever
present utilization of rhetoric, drove the Roman populace into a frenzy of rage aimed towards
Brutus. And Decius, using his knowledge of Caesar s vulnerability to flattery, turned him against
his wife and lured him to his assassination. The intense struggle for political power yielded to no
moral boundaries. In the midst of all of this chaos and evil, one man stands out above the rest.
Cassius is the most manipulative character because he uses flattery, counterfeit letters, and alleged

Brutus as having the flaw of possessing an overpowering sense of obligation to abide by the will

the praise for Brutus that has been spoken by many of the best [respected people] in Rome who
Have wished that noble Brutus had his eyes (Shakespeare 1.2.61,64). Cassius is suggesting that
Brutus would make a better leader than Caesar if only he could see his own merits as the Roman
people do. These deceitful words are used by Cassius to bend a good natured, noble Roman to

Similarities Between King George 3 And The British Government
BOSTON King George III and the British government were outraged with the colonists who
participated in the Boston Tea Party or the Boston Tea Party in general. Therefore, Parliament
passed four very harsh laws called the Intolerable Acts, also known as the Coercive Acts. The first
closed the port of Boston; two others increased the powers of the royal governor, abolished the
upper house of Massachusetts legislature, and out the powers of town meetings, the fourth and final
law strengthened the 1765 Quartering Act.
On March 24, 1774, King George III passed four very harsh laws that were hated by the colonists.
After the Boston Tea PartyKing George thought he should take harsh actions to make good
examples of the people in Boston. He demanded the tough actions and they were passed by
Parliament. The Intolerable Acts were an attempt to repose strict British control over the American
colonies. King George III ordered 3 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

words, the act allowed officials who were accused of doing something bad could go to England

This act allowed some British troops live in the homes of colonists. Meaning, the troops would

Waiting For Superman Film Analysis
As part of a suburban, middle class community, I as well as hundreds of other students who are
also part of this community receive a proper education. Consequently, I have never had the
experience of living in the city and attending a school that is on the other side of the spectrum: one
that takes advantage of the word tenure and deprives students my age and younger of a decent
educationeither because of low funding, subsequent budget cuts, or a legislation that just does not
care. However, thanks to the 2010 Davis Guggenheimdocumentary, Waiting for Superman, it is
no secret that the United States has been battling such inequality for several decades. The film
follows a superhero allegory and several inner city kids, all of whom are part of a lower class
community and seem to have their fate sealed because of where they live and their financial
situation. As the movie progresses, Guggenheim presents two sides to this documentary:
personal and impersonal. He specifically uses a definitive structure and emotional appeal to
expose the political and social issues that hinder all children in all areas of the country from
receiving a proper education and breaking away from their poor living situation and a fate that is
all too common for inner city kids. Before the kids are formally and officially introduced,
however, in the first few minutes of the movie, educator Geoffrey Canada shares a symbolic
anecdote from his childhood in which he reminisces one of the saddest days

Industry experts note that major transformations are under way in health insurance, and cite several
major drivers that demand innovation to protect future success: (Singh Sawhney, 2006)
В·Rising healthcare costs are pressuring employers, who are moving toward consumer directed and
defined contribution benefit plan designs. This means that consumers will be challenged at new
levels to manage their health costs and benefits, and they ll need unprecedented levels of access to
information to manage their decisions. With consumers holding more of the financial
responsibility, they ll have new motivation to demand consumer friendly services and information.
(Singh Sawhney, 2006)
В·Competition is forcing consolidation of health insurers. Two years ago, there were fifteen major
for profit insurance plans that controlled the national market. They have consolidated into nine
players, and further changes are predicted. (Singh Sawhney, 2006)

Antz Totalitarian Government
The 1998 movie, Antz, is about a hard working ant named Z, who breaks away from the anthills
totalitarian ways. As we follow Z along, we learn more about the governments that influence the
colony. We see governments, such as, totalitarian dictatorship, constitutional monarchy, and
communist totalitarianism.
In the beginning, we see General Mandible assigning baby ants jobs, which they will work for
the rest of their lives. General M. also uses propaganda to persuade the colony to stand against Z,
which is all a part of the generals plan to kill the colony and save only the strong, kind of like
Hitler. On a bit of a less violent note, another scene was when Z went to the CHUG to sulk about
his life, within a few minutes, we hear an announcer with a very monotone voice, saying everyone
to come and dance. Each ant at the CHUG lined up on the dance floor and began to dance the
same thing. All the examples, thus far, have been a totalitarian dictatorship form of government,
which is where a ruler and their political party controls all parts of citizen s lives. To further

A constitutional monarchy is where a ruler follows laws selected by officials, but all they really
are is a figurehead, which holds no power. An example from the movie would be the Queen
herself. She has no real power, but the entire colony looks up to her. The Queens military leader,
General Mandible, is our last example of the government type, communist totalitarianism, which
can be seen a bit later in the movie. In this scene we see General Mandible and a few of his
soldiers interrogating Z s friend, Weaver. The general uses his military men to get Weaver to speak
about Z s whereabouts. This specific system of government is when a country is ruled by one
communist party that uses the military to enforce its rules, or in this case to get out

Benzene and its derivatives have been found to replace donor ligands. In this experiment one is
looking to replace the CO groups in a molybdenum complex. By refluxing the Mo(CO6) in
mestylene it is possible to produce 1,3,5 C6H3(CH3)3]Mo(CO)3. The benzene molecules
replace 3 of the CO bonds and rest parallel to the plane of the remaining CO groups. The products
geometry is such that it can be considered octahedral as opposed to tetrahedral. The carbonyl to
molybdenum bonds are close to 90 degrees instead of 109.5 which is indicative of a tetrahedral
complex. Using H NMR and infrared spectrum it is possible to analyze the product and determine
its relative structure and composition. CO stretches have unique places within the spectrum and
thus can be noted. H NMR can be used to determining the structure by comparing it to that of
mestylene. Looking at these spectrum s allows for one to look for indication of methyl group

The song that I chose compare is Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid, which was
originally performed by Jodi Benson. The cover that I am comparing the original to is by Carly
Rae Jepsen. The song was written and composed by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. It is a
slow ballad with a Broadway Style. Part of Your World is in simple quadruple meter, most likely
to have 4/4 as a time signature, frequently referred to as common time.As Jodi Benson sings this
song, you can hear the desperation and the longing to be on land and with Prince Eric. The main
instruments used are strings, such ah the Violin and Harp, also the Piano. The cover performed by

Persuasive Essay On Bus Safety
The school bus safety in this time has gotten better and worse, but the one thing you don t see in
school buses too often are the seatbelts. I believe that seat belts are needed in buses.
The first patented seat belt was created by American Edward J. Claghorn on February 10, 1885
in order to keep tourists safe in taxis in New York City. This idea slowly became more popular in
the manufacturing of other vehicles. Competing drivers were the first to be required to wear a seat
belt. The real breakthrough with modern seat belts came in 1958 when Swedish engineer Nils
Bohlin was hired by Volvo and he designed the seat belts we know today through a three point seat
belt that better protects the driver and passenger in an accident. The three point design was created
to help secure both the upper and lower body in an accident.
Since 1966, vehicles in America were required to have seat belts in their cars. By 1975, most
first world countries had a seat belt requirement in their cars. Once the three point seat belt
became more common in cars, laws soon followed afterwards. By 1970, the world s first seat
belt law was created in Victoria, Australia, which required passengers to wear their seat belts at all
times. In the U.S., seat belt laws came around the time of the creation of The National Traffic and
Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1966.

Asian American Achievement
Asian Americans exceptional educational and occupational outcomes despite their racial minority
status in the United States have been central to the debate of race and achievement in both

On Wishes By Mahmoud Darwish
Refugees are not terrorists, they are often the first victims of terrorism, was once written by an
anonymous author. Experiencing being a refugee in the middle east during times of war can be
extremely difficult. It can be a time of finding your strength, and building the courage to fight
for what you believe in. Mahmoud Darwish is the author of two poems Identity Card, and On
Wishes. Darwish s village was destroyed from the war, and later became exiled after joining the
political opposition. Darwish s perspective of war and having to mature faster than others are
discussed throughout his two poems. Throughout Darwish s poems he used vivid emotions to
express the many struggles you may run into while living life as a refugee. The first form of
anger that Darwish uses to express his feeling towards being exiled is through repetition.
Darwish uses repetition in his poetry as a constant reminder to himself and the reader that he is
who he is, and that he is angry at the Israeli Army. He is stating that no matter what they try to do
that he will still be an Arab. In the poem Identity Card, he repeats the phrase Put it on record. I am
an Arab. Growing up as a refugee, the author most likely faced many difficult situations based on
his country of origin. By repeating this phrase, he is acknowledging the fact that, although he is a
refugee, he too is a human. In the poem On Wishes, the phrase Don t say to me, is repetitive in the
story. The people talking to him

Accounting Is The Most Boring
Accounting is commonly depicted as the most boring, yet reliable profession possibly offered in
the business school. But what if accountants managed to scam millions? How about billions?
Accounting is a seemingly innocuous career, but corporations can manipulate their current financial
state and become more appealing to investors with some clever help from their accountants.
Accountants could embellish financial statements or secure higher balances for wage expenditures.
A typical corporate mistake is improperly segregating duties of employees. If someone has more
than one task, such as recording inflow of cash and controlling where it goes, then a chance of
embezzlement can occur. Embezzlement is when an employee, usually under good faith, takes a
small sum of money to pay personal finances under the guise of paying it back, but does it so often
that they eventually get caught by an increased amount of missing cash. The SEC, Securities and
Exchange Commission, carefully monitors these conniving, dishonest businesses. To enhance the
duties of this agency, President Bush in 2002 signed the Sarbanes Oxley Act, which dictated that
publicly traded companies must maintain adequate internal control systems. Despite the strong
reinforcements of regulating agencies such as SEC commissioners and auditors, corporations still
manage to circumvent the proper accounting techniques that prevent fraudulent behaviors. Because

Esther has seen or done many things that represent her and show how she has affected those
around her. Although there are many other examples, the headlines Joan mentions in chapter 16
are a prime example of how Esther has affected people even those who are strangers. The
headlines symbolize Esther s exposure to the world and her impact on them. Plath developed
the headlines by using Joan to be the person to show them to Esther and explain to her how she
had heard of her while she was gone. Esther thinks that she is very secluded from the rest of the
world and she only sees the pain and darkness in her story. But what she does not see is that she
is very exposed to the world and that other people see a sensual story of a young woman who
struggles to be herself. After Esther reads the headlines she finally realizes this. She realizes that
she inspires others and that maybe she can inspire herself too. Maybe to even better herself and
finally break free from society. Although Plath does not gradually develop the headlines throughout
the story, she still manages to make it a meaningful and important symbol.... Show more content on

Photosynthesis And Cellular Respiration
Aerobic cellular respiration and oxygenic photosynthesis are two cellular processes that evolved
in a similar matter. Cellular respiration drives cellular economy by absorbing the energy stored in
sugars and other fuels. Cells takes the energy to perform their job. For example, giving ATP
energy to move solutes across the plasma membrane. Chemical work is the pushing of endergonic
reactions that does not occur randomly. Transport work is the pumping of substances in and out of
the membranes. Finally, Mechanical work is the contraction of muscle cells. All of this type of
work requires energy that is stored in sugars and other fuels. So where does this energy stored in
sugars and other fuels come from? Many organisms get their energy from plants. Either eating the
leaves, eat what people consider food from the plants, For example, potatoes, fruits etc. Or eating
other organisms that eat plants. This energy that is stored in food comes from the sun.
Photosynthesiscreates oxygen and organic molecules that are used by the mitochondria of
eukaryotes as fuel for cellular respiration. Respiration then breaks down the fuel generating ATP.
The waste products of this type of respiration, carbon dioxide and water, are the raw materials for
photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process where chloroplast in plants and other photosynthetic
organisms capture light energy and converts it to chemical energy that is stored in sugar and other
organic molecules. Autotrophs sustain

Melba Character Analysis
Melba Pattillo and eight other African American students became soldiers on the battlefield of
equality at a young age. When entering Central High School, Melba had to become a warrior in
order to survive the school year. She had to be a warrior to fight for what she believed in and not
give up. Melba created a warrior inside herself to rise above the pressure and scrutiny from her
peers, community, and nation. She was a warrior of civil justice and equality for the future
generations of kids who only wanted a fair chance. Melba s mother told her, there s a price to be
paid for freedom; we pay it now or we re in ball and chain forever. (Pattillo. 104) To survive the
school year, Melba had to acquire various weapons to fight against the segregationists who
surrounded her. Those weapons included her words, her diary, her presence and her faith. After
Minnijean was expelled Melba s fellow students became more vicious trying to get the others

Qualitative Research in Nursing
Qualitative Research
Introduction
Some of the integral components of nursing practice are commitment and patience, understanding
and trust, flexibility and openness. These, according to qualitative researchers, can be applied to
qualitative approaches. Many qualitative studies have in the recent past found their way into
medical and nursing press. This has helped in improving knowledge base on qualitative nursing
researches (Brookes, 2007). This term paper seeks to establish ways in which findings of qualitative
nursing research study influence the way care is provided in different work settings. The paper also
undertakes to highlight the reasons behind researchers resolve to conduct qualitative rather than
quantitative nursing research study.
Ways in which the findings of a qualitative nursing research study can be used to influence the way
care is provided in a given work setting Qualitative nursing research findings are very important in
decision making process in a working set up and at the national level. Qualitative researches ability
to analyze information conveyed through language and behavior in natural setting makes it ideal
for capturing expressive information pertaining to beliefs, values, feelings and motivation. In the
process one finds himself in a position to learn directly from the patients about what they consider
important. This is very crucial in identifying variables that are important for future clinical studies
(Berkwits Inui, 1998).

Cool Hand Luke s Relationship
There are many movies that make the contrast of the lives of prisoners and their guards. So often

struggling to keep both their spirits and sanity up. Cool Hand Luke is not an exception to these
films. However, it does contain a main character with a nonchalant type attitude that irks his
superiors and earns respect from his fellow prisoners, which is not often seen. This leads to him
becoming a very popular character in the prison, specifically to his new admirer Dragline. Dragline

Cynthia Whittaker s The Reforming Tsar
In The Reforming Tsar: The Redefinition of Autocratic Duty in Eighteenth пЂ Century Russia,
Cynthia Whittaker argues that depending on the historical, cultural and contextual period, there
can be demarcated two types, both distinctive and contrasting, of Russian sovereigns, namely the
good tsar and the reforming tsar . The scholar juxtaposes the two models of monarchs against the
backdrop of medieval versus modern type of governance. According to it the good tsar typology,
which is typical for the earlier Muscovy realm, defines the ruler as pious and inert, characterized
by its liturgical form and static nature of the rule. The good tsar is bound to uphold Orthodoxy,

Hamm and Clov fear that this small insect may give way to a kind of evolution from which a

Comparing The Underground Man And The Death Of Ivan Ilych
Understanding the Meaning of Life The underground man from Notes from underground by
Fyodor Dostoevsky and Ivan Ilynch from The Death of Ivan Ilych by Leo Tolstoy share a
variety of attributes such as the life. Tolstoy s novella uses a structural path to elaborate the
transformation of Ivan from a cold and self righteous person to an intricately kind and confident
individual at the end. On the other hand, Dostoevsky exhaustively applies the plot, tone, and
structure to establish the personality of the underground man. The underground man and Ivan
Ilych are both seen to seek the meaning of life. The underground man s first encounter with Liza
is in a dirty room where they have slept. He teaches Liza to cherish her family even if he doesn t
have one. This makes readers feel sympathetic to the underground man. Ivan s illness opens a
door of fear in his heart when he looks back at his life and sees how rude and selfish he was. He
tries to resist the pending demise by wishing and hoping for a better outcome. In Leo Tolstoy s
book, death is spoken as a theoretical concept as well as an applied occurrence for the main
character.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He lives a model life of his friends where he married a country girl and had two kids. The contrast
arises from the personal attributes related to each person. The underground man continues to envy
the normal man and states that he is lying. He does not believe anything that he has written. He
wonders that the readers are gullible as to imagine that he will publish the notes and let them read.
He keeps asking why he addresses the readers if he plans to not let them read. The underground
man declares the notes are from whatever comes to mind and the memories he has. He explains
that he writes notes because he wants to get rid of his hundreds of

The Change Nature of Islam
A.Introduction
How to describe Islam correctly? This question has been a concern for many International Relations
experts. Experts realize that they face new issues in the New Millennium after almost five decades
discussing the Cold War and how to end it. In the Cold War, the United States and the Soviet Union
took a central stage. Both of them were country. In present time, non state actors have taken part in
international politics issues. Terrorists and religious groups are prominent actor in analyzing the
current situation in international politics.
The 11 September 2001 incident had disenchanted experts that Islam is substantial factor in
international politics. When experts and mass media tried to know what public in general ... Show

This situation potentially leads Muslims and non Muslims into conflict. In non Muslim dominated
countries, this situation will not occur due to the limitedness of Muslim s power.
This statement has clearer and deeper reason rather than other assumption because this explanation
is based on verses in The Koran. But, this argument could not explain some phenomena that
occurred in a Muslim country. For example, Indonesia, which is dominated by Muslims, applies
democratic system in it constitution and holds general election to choose their leader and their
representative. Actually, democratic system and general election is not part of The Koran. In fact,
the Koran has its own system to choose leader.
Finally, what is the essential core of Islam is a complex question to answer. But, based on
Muhammad s leadership historic fact, Islam was not promoting aggressive approach or anti
tolerant values in it early ages. Thus, the approach method to promote Islam is based on actor
involved in that process. The Crusade and Arab Israel War impact towards Islam
The Crusade is always discussed in two contexts (Supardi Hasibuan). The first context is that
Crusades was part of history repetition and the Western civilization was against the Eastern
civilization at one point. Whereas, the second context is that Crusades was the Holy War between
Christian and Islam for Holy City, Jerusalem.
According to Supardi Hasibuan,

The Death Of A Man s Obedience
Obedience You have to make choices whether to follow the rules of not. To be obedient means to
comply with an order, request, or submission to another s authority. This authority has the power
to make an individual obey in ways that go against their personal and moral values. Because of
this the authority can make individuals commit terrible acts without question. An example of this
can be the abhorrent and inhumane acts carried out by German soldiers in WWII. All the German
troops orders were from one single individual, Adolf Hitler. Why is it that man is so prone to obey
and why is it hard for him to contravene? The reason for man s obedience is a mixture of social
influences, authorityfigures, and their own self conscience. A person s obedience can be derived
from social pressure and group minds. Most all people live their lives in groups such as with
family, work groups, school peers, political groups, etc. Also most people want to belong to a
group and can t stand being unaccompanied. We are group animals and tend to think as the group
thinks which makes it hard for an individual to maintain their own opinions. According to
Lessing, People who have experienced a lot of groups, who have observed their own behavior,
may agree that the hardest thing in the world is to stand out against one s group, a group of one s
peers. Many agree that among our most shameful memories is this, how often we said black was
white because other people were saying it (653). A person s

Why I Want To Be An Em Pa Essay
When I take a step back and look at the endless opportunities I will have as a Physician Assistant
(PA) it truly amazes me. There are so many areas of clinical practice to choose from and at this
point in my education as a PA student I am still unsure of where I will end up. However, the area
of practice that I am currently most drawn to is emergency medicine(EM). What draws me to EM
is that it is face paced and team oriented. In addition, not only do you get to see a variety of
patients, but you also see a variety of diseases and injuries. This being the specialty that is of
most interest to me, it is important that I understand what exactly being an EM PA encompasses.
In order to become an EM PA one must graduate from an accredited PA program and obtain
certification or be eligible to obtain certification through the National Commission for PAs. The
state licensure and regulations of PA practice must also be abided by. There are also specific
qualifications that must be acquired and/or maintained which include EM training and EM specific

First off, there are several settings in which an EM PA can provide care. These settings include
emergency departments, urgent care and critical care units, pre hospital situations such as ground
or air transport, as well as, education and teaching activities in regards to EM. Besides the
opportunity to choose a certain setting to practice in, you also have the opportunity to care for a
large variety of patients ranging from newborn to elderly. Unlike other PA specialties in which
patients present with similar diseases and injuries, EM opens the door for one to see and care for a
large variety of illnesses and injuries. Patients can present with anything from the flu to broken
bones to life threatening problems like heart attacks or severe trauma from automobile

Analysis Of On Death Row, But Is He Innocent
In On Death Row, but Is He Innocent? Nicholas Kristof explores the position that the evidence
that convicted Kevin Cooper, an inmate on death row in San Quentin State Prison, may be
unreliable. In 1983, a California professor drove to his neighbor s house to pick up his eleven
year old son. He peered through the window to find the house in a state of bloody disarray.
Amongst the blood was the bodies of his neighbor s family and the lifeless body of his son.
Additionally, the professor Joshua Ryen who was stabbed multiple times, but still clinging to life.
Kristof highlights the overwhelming evidence of policetampering with evidence that sent Kevin
Cooper to death row. Additionally, Kristof suggests evidence as to Cooper s innocence was not
given proper scrutiny. Therefore, Kristof alleges Cooper s case, particularly the evidence, should be
reviewed. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger denied this request. Although as Attorney General of
California, Jerry Brown should little interest in the case, as Governor he is currently reviewing the
case.
The fallacy of irrelevance, or ignoratio elenchi, is an argument purporting to establish a particular
conclusion, but is instead directed to proving another conclusion. Kristof potentially frames the
fallacy of ignoratio elenchi even from the title: On Death Row, but Is He Innocent? On the one
hand, the title does not commit the fallacy if framed just as written, a question. However, to the
suggest Kristof s defense equates to

Cost Volume Profit Analysis, Cost, Volume, And Profit
Introduction Economic models which measure changes in costs and revenues as the volume of
activity increase can be complex. However, for the purpose of managerial decision making it is
possible to simplify these models in a way that makes them easy to use and therefore more readily
useful to the average manager. In this case, cost volume profit analysis is simple, with its
assumption of output as the only revenue and cost driver, and linear revenue and cost relationships.
it provides minimum values in more complex decision making cases. Cost volume profit analysis
examines the relationships between changes in activity and changes in total sales revenue, cost and
profit. It may provide very useful information particularly for a business... Show more content on

Moreover, break even point is useful, simply why firm are making profit. Once the break even
units or break even revenue is achieved, then the process is openly acceptable. Finally,
assumptions, such as sales units are the only cause for cost and revenue changes, linear graph line
can be shown when revenue and costs are used, and then single product or service would be
analyzed. The strength of CVP lies in the way that it removes many of the complications of the
real world in order to provide a sharp focus on the financial impact of decisions. This makes the
CVP both simple to apply and easy to understand. In the year of 2001, Yunker, J. (2001) have
declared that CVP analysis can not only be used in certain practical decision situations but also
provide a conceptual bridge between the accounting and finance literature on CVP analysis under
uncertainly and the economic literature on decision making under uncertainty. This shows that
CVP is both simple and simplistic. What s more, Ojugo, C. (2009) said that knowing the
relationship among cost, volume and profit, or CVP is the most powerful tool and easiest way to
make a better decision. It shows the volume of sales required to break even and generate profit, the
proper price of the menu is related to the cost of sales. Additionally, Eldneburg Wolcott (2004, p.89)
argued that Cost Volume Profit analysis provides information such

Creating A Successful Business Model
Introduction
Creating a successful business model requires a wide variety of detail. Numerous businesses decide
simply to enter a market with standard practices and standard products that are related to a
particular product or service, however, countless others attempt to innovate by creating new
services or business models. Innovation is done through small medium enterprises (SME) or
through innovation driven enterprises (IDE). The following paper will examine two broad firms
and their various details regarding benefits and risks. Innovation will be addressed in developing
countries, in addition, how firms can create a culture of innovation to support this business model.
The concern regarding government involvement will be explored, and ... Show more content on

Given that IDE s are creating new and un tested concepts into the market, the possibility of failure
is significant. However, this same risk can provide a greater payoff for IDE entrepreneurs if they
manage to be successful (Aulet, 2013).
Creating a Culture of Innovation
According to Aulet
There are a number of ways companies can create a culture of innovation. One way companies can
create a culture of innovation is by creating an infrastructure to allow people to experiment without
it hurting the business; innovation comes from experimentation and risk and when risk can be
controlled more experimentation can be done (Aulet, 2013). By creating an environment that not
only allows innovation, but rewards it, a continuing cycle can be created to invite growth.
According to Peters
One way is to create a culture of innovation is by creating an environment that focuses on the
development of people (Heywood, De Smet Webb 2014). By focusing on the development of
individuals and by creating environments that are supportive, open, and energetic, it encourages
new ideas and positive outlooks.
According to Execution Plan Video
Rewarding those who develop innovation is helping to encouraging it (Films on Demand, 2008).
Developing new ideas, but also exploring existing ones is another method of development for a
culture of innovation as well as it supports the current business

Super Ego In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies
Freud, developed a way of thinking that broke down the mind into the id, ego, and super ego. In
William Golding s book, Lord of the Flies this theory explains the boys descent into savagery
because of the uneven balance of the egos. The id represented the instinctual desires that required
immediate satisfaction. The super ego represented moral standards and rule following. Lastly the
ego is the healthy balance between the ids desires and the superegos moderation. The ego and the
superego were too weak, Freud explains the breakdown of the boys turning into savages because
the egos were off balance given that, Freud describes the descent the best. In the novel, Jack
illustrates the id. This can be first noticed when Jack adventures off to... Show more content on

The ego was supposed to be a healthy balance between the id s wants and the super ego s self
control. A time he balanced the id and the super ego is when the council is telling Ralph to step
down as chief and he says, I ought to give up being chief. Hear em (93). This shows he is the ego.
The super ego would have instantly stepped down, and the id would ve shot down any
rebellions. Ralph considers what is best for the group, making him a plain ego. Another tim this
connection is visible is when Ralph goes back to get Piggy s glasses from jack and says, I ve
come to see about the fire... and Piggy s specs. (176). This shows he is stabilizing Piggy, who
wouldn t have the guts to come face to face with Jack, and also between Jack, who wouldn t have
made an effort to get someone s glasses back. This is the final time Ralph grasps his ego title,
because after this moment, Piggy is killed and Ralph is tracked down by Jack. With out Ralph, or
the ego, in control, Jack, the id, becomes controlling which leads to destruction. This demonstrates
that without authority, or a true balance between the id and super ego, human development breaks

people watch, makes the super bowl one of the most watched games every year. I saw a few really
good commercials during the gameand a few commercials that make me believe that a new
generation is upon us with a T Mobile commercial that used word playto joke about marijuana and
other commercials that were very.... Sexy? With all of this being said I am one of the viewers
who tune in for the actual game. I was scheduled to work Sunday night during the super bowl so

  • 2. Ethics and Live Tissue Training The Ethical Dilemma of Live Tissue Training in the Military Environment By Aaron Smith 22 September 2012 Thesis: Over the past 11 years to date, the United States has endured almost 8000 casualties from two major conflicts (iCasualties.org, 2012). Although this number is staggering, we have also seen soldiers surviving injuries that were previously fatal (Philpott, 2005). This increase in survivability is largely due to the advancements in medical research and applied training. When it comes to military trauma, our warrior medics should be equipped with the most realistic training attainable. Although several simulation aids are used to provide this training, other methods such as live tissue training are still employed. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a recent media source, PETA defended their stance, stating, they can drug an animal up, but they are sentient creatures that still feel pain and fear by being treated as a disposable commodity (Gordon, 2009). The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) agrees with PETA stating, Because widely validated and accepted non animal alternatives for chemical casualty management and combat trauma training courses exist, there is no justification for the use of live animals for these training purposes (PCRM). Stakeholder Analysis: There are several individuals and organizations affected by this ethical dilemma. First and foremost are the casualties down range. Having highly trained personnel ready to treat and manage wounds on the battlefield is paramount in the survivability of these injured soldiers. Is the potential increase in fatalities on the battlefield justified by the elimination of live tissue training for warrior medics? When it comes to this life versus life assessment, which way is the most ethical choice? Secondly, the medically trained personnel must be taken into consideration. Without the most realistic training available, combat medics will not be as prepared to properly assess and treat casualties. A Marine Corps Staff Sergeant is quoted in saying, I can honestly say that the military training that I received did not prepare me nearly as well as the live tissue training. I had to ... • 3. The Legend Of The Chosen Legend of the Chosen Much of the Earth s landscape had been changed by The Great Wars, the war that caused the holocaust, but some landmarks still remain. And these wars rearranged the planet s geographical attributes and wiped out most human life on Earth. Each land was renamed after the compass point it faced; the Northland, the Southland, the Eastland, and the Westland. Towers, buildings, homes, Helicopters, towers, and buildings are in ruins, but have been in this state for quite some time, with layers of moss and green vines covering them. Most advanced technologies had also been lost, but magic had been discovered. During this time era, mankind mutated into several distinct races; Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, and Trolls. The Elves, extremely long lived and possessing great magic, created the Elfstonts. As a necessary balance to the light, darkness was also created in the beginning of time; from this darkness, the Demons were born. After years of battle between the light and the dark, the Elves summoned their greatest magic and created the Forbidding, a spell that imprisoned the Demons beyond the confines of the world. They also created the Ellcrys, a beautiful silver elvish tree with crimson leaves to maintain the Forbidding. Unfortunately, this drained nearly all the strength of the Elves, leaving them with very little magic. In time, Elves came to resemble more and more of the human race that had recently evolved, both in strength and longevity. Afraid of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Soccer Is The Best Sport Essay Soccer is, by far, the best sport in the world. Many might disagree with this statement, but I think that soccer should be considered the greatest. The fans cheer louder, there is more blood, sweat, and tears, and soccer requires you to think more than different sports. The passion between the fans and the players is indescribable unless you experience it first hand. There are many reasons to why soccer is the best sport, some being: it is the most popular sport around the world, it is one of the hardest sports to learn and pick up on, and I have been playing soccer my entire life so therefore it has to be the best. Soccer is it is the most popular sport. Soccer originated in England, but China claimed to have also played a similar game of passing and kicking the ball into a goal. In America, we call the sport soccer, but originally it was called football and it is still known as football to this day in all other parts of the world.. There are twenty one professional leagues across the world, but some of the main leagues are the MLS, or Major League Soccer, The Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and La Liga. There are nearly sixty stadiums in England alone and most of the largest stadiums in the world are soccer stadiums and have the capacity of over 70,000. The Reason for its creation was because of the need of a new and improved medium bomber. This bomber went on to be a major role in The Doolittle Raid. In discovering my passion for agriculture I have pursued a career as a Corn Specialist for AgriGold, of which we will be discussing throughout this essay. The overall effectiveness will be benefited due to the fact that you will be advertising only to the potential customers of your market. When you look at the product that is being advertised by AgriGold, you have to consider a few different things when determining where it lies exactly within its life cycle. When you consider the product to be seed corn itself, the product has reached maturity and is beginning to enter the declining stage. What is meant by this is the fact that seed corn solely as a product has been sold for centuries and has reached its maximum penetration point within the market (given that people continue with their traditional crop rotation strategies). Yet, I said that it is beginning to enter into the declining stage. When I say that seed corn is beginning to enter the declining stage I am referring to the fact that there is only a limited amount of land available to plant. As the populations grow, there is less land that is used for agricultural purposes, which ultimately correlates into declining demand for seed corn. • 10. Who Is Brutus Use Of Flattery In Julius Caesar The final years of the Roman Republic were a time plagued with political deception and secret alliances. Numerous political figures of the time employed deceptive tactics. Antony, with his ever present utilization of rhetoric, drove the Roman populace into a frenzy of rage aimed towards Brutus. And Decius, using his knowledge of Caesar s vulnerability to flattery, turned him against his wife and lured him to his assassination. The intense struggle for political power yielded to no moral boundaries. In the midst of all of this chaos and evil, one man stands out above the rest. Similarities Between King George 3 And The British Government BOSTON King George III and the British government were outraged with the colonists who participated in the Boston Tea Party or the Boston Tea Party in general. Consequently, I have never had the experience of living in the city and attending a school that is on the other side of the spectrum: one that takes advantage of the word tenure and deprives students my age and younger of a decent educationeither because of low funding, subsequent budget cuts, or a legislation that just does not care. However, thanks to the 2010 Davis Guggenheimdocumentary, Waiting for Superman, it is no secret that the United States has been battling such inequality for several decades. The film follows a superhero allegory and several inner city kids, all of whom are part of a lower class community and seem to have their fate sealed because of where they live and their financial situation. As the movie progresses, Guggenheim presents two sides to this documentary: personal and impersonal. He specifically uses a definitive structure and emotional appeal to expose the political and social issues that hinder all children in all areas of the country from receiving a proper education and breaking away from their poor living situation and a fate that is all too common for inner city kids. As we follow Z along, we learn more about the governments that influence the colony. We see governments, such as, totalitarian dictatorship, constitutional monarchy, and communist totalitarianism. General M. also uses propaganda to persuade the colony to stand against Z, which is all a part of the generals plan to kill the colony and save only the strong, kind of like Hitler. Each ant at the CHUG lined up on the dance floor and began to dance the same thing. • 24. Persuasive Essay On Bus Safety The school bus safety in this time has gotten better and worse, but the one thing you don t see in school buses too often are the seatbelts. I believe that seat belts are needed in buses. The first patented seat belt was created by American Edward J. Claghorn on February 10, 1885 in order to keep tourists safe in taxis in New York City. This idea slowly became more popular in the manufacturing of other vehicles. Competing drivers were the first to be required to wear a seat belt. The real breakthrough with modern seat belts came in 1958 when Swedish engineer Nils Bohlin was hired by Volvo and he designed the seat belts we know today through a three point seat belt that better protects the driver and passenger in an accident. The three point design was created to help secure both the upper and lower body in an accident. Since 1966, vehicles in America were required to have seat belts in their cars. By 1975, most first world countries had a seat belt requirement in their cars. Once the three point seat belt became more common in cars, laws soon followed afterwards. By 1970, the world s first seat belt law was created in Victoria, Australia, which required passengers to wear their seat belts at all times. In the U.S., seat belt laws came around the time of the creation of The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1966. Experiencing being a refugee in the middle east during times of war can be extremely difficult. It can be a time of finding your strength, and building the courage to fight for what you believe in. Mahmoud Darwish is the author of two poems Identity Card, and On Wishes. Darwish s village was destroyed from the war, and later became exiled after joining the political opposition. Darwish s perspective of war and having to mature faster than others are discussed throughout his two poems. Throughout Darwish s poems he used vivid emotions to express the many struggles you may run into while living life as a refugee. The first form of anger that Darwish uses to express his feeling towards being exiled is through repetition. Darwish uses repetition in his poetry as a constant reminder to himself and the reader that he is who he is, and that he is angry at the Israeli Army. He is stating that no matter what they try to do that he will still be an Arab. In the poem Identity Card, he repeats the phrase Put it on record. I am an Arab. Growing up as a refugee, the author most likely faced many difficult situations based on his country of origin. • 28. Accounting Is The Most Boring Accounting is commonly depicted as the most boring, yet reliable profession possibly offered in the business school. But what if accountants managed to scam millions? How about billions? Accounting is a seemingly innocuous career, but corporations can manipulate their current financial state and become more appealing to investors with some clever help from their accountants. Accountants could embellish financial statements or secure higher balances for wage expenditures. A typical corporate mistake is improperly segregating duties of employees. If someone has more than one task, such as recording inflow of cash and controlling where it goes, then a chance of embezzlement can occur. Embezzlement is when an employee, usually under good faith, takes a small sum of money to pay personal finances under the guise of paying it back, but does it so often that they eventually get caught by an increased amount of missing cash. The SEC, Securities and Exchange Commission, carefully monitors these conniving, dishonest businesses. To enhance the duties of this agency, President Bush in 2002 signed the Sarbanes Oxley Act, which dictated that publicly traded companies must maintain adequate internal control systems. Despite the strong reinforcements of regulating agencies such as SEC commissioners and auditors, corporations still manage to circumvent the proper accounting techniques that prevent fraudulent behaviors. • 30. Photosynthesis And Cellular Respiration Aerobic cellular respiration and oxygenic photosynthesis are two cellular processes that evolved in a similar matter. Cellular respiration drives cellular economy by absorbing the energy stored in sugars and other fuels. Cells takes the energy to perform their job. For example, giving ATP energy to move solutes across the plasma membrane. Chemical work is the pushing of endergonic reactions that does not occur randomly. Transport work is the pumping of substances in and out of the membranes. Finally, Mechanical work is the contraction of muscle cells. All of this type of work requires energy that is stored in sugars and other fuels. So where does this energy stored in sugars and other fuels come from? Many organisms get their energy from plants. Either eating the leaves, eat what people consider food from the plants, For example, potatoes, fruits etc. Or eating other organisms that eat plants. This energy that is stored in food comes from the sun. Photosynthesiscreates oxygen and organic molecules that are used by the mitochondria of eukaryotes as fuel for cellular respiration. Respiration then breaks down the fuel generating ATP. The waste products of this type of respiration, carbon dioxide and water, are the raw materials for photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process where chloroplast in plants and other photosynthetic organisms capture light energy and converts it to chemical energy that is stored in sugar and other organic molecules. The scholar juxtaposes the two models of monarchs against the backdrop of medieval versus modern type of governance. According to it the good tsar typology, which is typical for the earlier Muscovy realm, defines the ruler as pious and inert, characterized by its liturgical form and static nature of the rule. Comparing The Underground Man And The Death Of Ivan Ilych Understanding the Meaning of Life The underground man from Notes from underground by Fyodor Dostoevsky and Ivan Ilynch from The Death of Ivan Ilych by Leo Tolstoy share a variety of attributes such as the life. • 45. The Death Of A Man s Obedience Obedience You have to make choices whether to follow the rules of not. To be obedient means to comply with an order, request, or submission to another s authority. This authority has the power to make an individual obey in ways that go against their personal and moral values. Because of this the authority can make individuals commit terrible acts without question. An example of this can be the abhorrent and inhumane acts carried out by German soldiers in WWII. All the German troops orders were from one single individual, Adolf Hitler. Why is it that man is so prone to obey and why is it hard for him to contravene? The reason for man s obedience is a mixture of social influences, authorityfigures, and their own self conscience. A person s obedience can be derived from social pressure and group minds. Most all people live their lives in groups such as with family, work groups, school peers, political groups, etc. Also most people want to belong to a group and can t stand being unaccompanied. We are group animals and tend to think as the group thinks which makes it hard for an individual to maintain their own opinions. According to Lessing, People who have experienced a lot of groups, who have observed their own behavior, may agree that the hardest thing in the world is to stand out against one s group, a group of one s peers.
