availability another substitute system taken from outside is used, which is guaranteed for failure
free operation. Assuming failure and repair times as exponentially distributed, Expressions for the
mean time to system failure (MTSF), the steady state availability and busy period for system are
derived using linear first order differential equations. A particular case for the proposed system is
discussed in which substitute system was not considered. Also comparison is performed graphically

But when you drive around Huntington, the majority of the homes are in disrepair. A significant

growing around the world. Homeschools use different educational methods such as: Unit Studies,
All in One Curricula, Natural Learning, and Autonomous Learning. In the Unit Studies method
multiple subjects are studied in relation to a single topic. The All in One Curricula is another
method in which the curriculum and homework of the student are similar or identical to the
curriculum at a public or private school. Natural Learning is a method where children follow
knowledge based on their interest and the parents take part in their learning activities. In the
Autonomous Learning method, the child is responsible for their own learning environment. Parents

treated. Pain is a neurologic response to unpleasant stimuli. What is the gate control theory of pain?

The Gate Control Theory of Pain
Gate control theory was first described in 1965 by Melzack and Wall. (Gate Control Theory.
2012). The gate control theory recognizes that stimuli other than pain pass through the same
gate. (DeWit, S., Stromberg, H., Dallred, C. 2017, p.124). The gate control theory states that
when the gate is open, pain sensation is allowed through; when the gate is closed, pain is
blocked. (DeWit, S., Stromberg, H., Dallred, C. 2017, p.141). The theory relates to nursing
practice in several ways: two type of nerve fibers small diameter and large diameter carry pain
stimuli, activity in small diameter nerve fibers open the gate, and activity in large diameter closes
it, increase in anxiety open the gate, and decrease in anxiety closes it. Fear that pain will not be
controlled may increase pain intensity, and knowing pain is being controlled reduces pain. (DeWit,

In Chapter three of Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich, one of the most significant
scenarios I would say is when Barbara is talking with Caroline about her lifestyle. Caroline lives
in a $825 a month rental home with her husband and two children. They are considered middle
class because they make close to $40,000 a year, but scraping by to make ends meet. Caroline
goes on to tell of her low wage life; this includes a hotel room cleaning job in Florida, and now
book keeping job in Minnesota. Also, Caroline tells Barbara of her struggles with balancing a job
and children, and her own health when living in Florida. Caroline has Diabetes, but was scared to
