Recently, I had an incredible networking and learning opportunity at ATLAS Skill Tech University during a summer program. Throughout the program, I worked on five different projects, including character design, interior built environments, digital photography, fashion communication and styling, and product design. We participated in two-day workshops where we aimed to create finished products by the end of the program. In the character design program, I had the task of creating a mascot for one of six brands, and I chose Nike. I wanted to incorporate as many aspects of Nike as possible, so I created my mascot, Nike Boy. For the interior built environment module, we were given the challenge of designing an environment for an amphitheater located in Equinox Park. Inspired by the Louvre in France, I decided to create a sitting area surrounding the amphitheater. I designed an environment pavilion where people could relax and play games like 8-ball pool and foosball. In the digital photography module, our task was to create a collage of five photos with a theme. I chose street photography and focused on capturing the essence of hard work, grind, and determination, particularly in the vibrant city of Mumbai. For the fashion communication and styling module, our group was assigned the trend of ethnic fusion. We drew inspiration from ethnic wear in Japan and India, and we styled our creations in a way that resembled the Roman Emperor Julius Caesar. Finally, the product design module was the one I was most excited about. We were given three areas of life: eat, sleep, and travel, and had to identify ten problems within these areas. Through brainstorming, I realized that my problem was related to the kitchen, so I decided to create a more hands-on product. This led to the development of FoodFlix, a kitchen tabletop designed to address the challenges faced by modern-day moms. The product was designed with empathy, taking into consideration the daily experiences in a kitchen. I wanted the user experience to resemble Netflix, making it more user-friendly. Overall, my experience at ATLAS Skill Tech University was enriching and allowed me to explore various aspects of art and design. I'm proud of the projects I created during the program and look forward to continuing my artistic journey.
