Abstract: A monopole antenna is a type of radio antenna formed by replacing one half of a dipole antenna with a ground plane at right-angles to the remaining half. Monopoles may be used from a few hundred KHz through several GHz in frequency and are commonly one-quarter of a wave length long, but may be shorter or longer. Monopole antennas exhibit high gain and improved efficiency in a surprisingly small package. Monopole antenna can be designed to exhibit wideband capabilities. The different available monopole antennas are dual band printed monopole antenna, cross-slot monopole antenna, U-shaped monopole antenna, triangular shaped monopole antenna and a wideband monopole antenna. This paper deals with the comparison obtained from the results such as return loss, VSWR, current distribution, and the radiation pattern of simple U-shaped and complete monopole antenna. Keywords- CPW, CST, FR4, LAN, WiMAX

Abstract :The field of Signal Processing has witnessed the strong emergence of a new technique, the Blind Signal Processing (BSP) which is based on sound theoretical foundation. An offshoot of the BSP is known as Blind Source Separation (BSS). This digital signal processing techniques have a wide and varied potential applications. The term blind is indicative of the fact that both the source signal and the mixing procedures are unknown. One of the more interesting applications of BSS is in field of image data security/authentication where digital watermarking is proposed. Watermarking is a promising technique to help protect data security and intellectual property rights. The plethora digital image watermarking methods are surveyed and discussed here with their features and limitations. Thus literature survey is presented in two major categories-Digital image watermarking methods and BSS based techniques in digital image watermarking and extraction. Keywords – BSP, BSS, Mixing Coefficient, Digital Image Watermarking, Watermark Extraction.

Abstract : As the network size increases the probability of congestion occurrence at nodes increases. This is because of the event driven nature of ad hoc networks that leads to unpredictable network load. As a result congestion may occur at the nodes which receive more data than that can be forwarded and cause packet losses. In this paper we propose a hybrid scheme that attempts to avoid packet loss due to congestion as well as reduce end to end delay in delivering data packets by combining two protocols- Destination sequenced distance vector routing (DSDV), which is a table driven or proactive protocol and Improved Ad-hoc on demand vector routing (IAODV) which is an on-demand or reactive protocol that reduces packet loss due to congestion. The strategy adopted is use DSDV for path selection and if congestion occurs than switch over to IAODV. The routing performance of this model is then compared with IAODV and DSDV in terms of end to end delay, throughput and packet delivery fraction. Keywords- DSDV, Hybrid protocol, AODV, IAODV, MANET

The rapidly increasing need for information communication requires higher speed data transmission over the existing channels. The data rate over these channels is limited mainly by Inter Symbol Interference (ISI). Channel equalizers are used to reduce the effect of ISI. In this paper, a new equalizer based on Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System is presented. The performance of the proposed equalizer is evaluated for both linear as well as non-linear channels in terms of bit-error rate for different noise powers. Simulation results show that the proposed equalizer has better Bit Error Rate (BER) performance compared to multi-layer perceptron and least mean square equalizers. However, its BER performance is slightly poorer than that of radial basis function network and optimal Bayesian equalizer but is better in terms of structural complexity.

Abstract: The performance of WCDMA system deteriorates in the presence of multipath fading environment. Fading destroys the orthogonality and is responsible for multiple access interference (MAI). Though conventional rake receiver provides reasonable performance in the WCDMA downlink system due to path diversity, but it does not restores the orthogonality. Linear equalizer restores orthogonality and suppresses MAI, but it is not efficient, since its performance depends on the spectral characteristics of the channel. To overcome this, Minimum Mean Square Error- Decision Feedback Equalizer (MMSE-DFE) with a linear, anticausal feedforward filter, causal feedback filter and simple detector is proposed in this paper. The filter taps of finite length DFE is derived using the cholesky factorization theory, capable of suppressing noise, Intersymbol Interference (ISI) and MAI. This paper describes the WCDMA downlink system using finite length MMSE-DFE and takes into consideration the effects of interference which includes additive white gaussian noise, multipath fading, ISI and MAI. Furthermore, the performance is compared with conventional rake receiver and MMSE and the simulation results are shown. Keywords – MMSE, MMSE-DFE, rake receiver, WCDMA

This paper presents two models for predicting the delay percentage in construction projects in Egypt. The first model based on regression analysis. 74 causes that lead to delay in construction projects gathered from literature. A questionnaire survey was made on construction contractors of construction projects in Egypt to evaluate the relative importance of these causes. 14 causes were obtained as the most significant causes that affect the delay percentage (DP) and these are the independent variables of the proposed model. Data for the occurrence of the previous causes on a yes/no basis and the corresponding DP (dependent variable) for 20 construction projects was collected. The data was divided into two sets, the first set contains projects for the purpose of model building. The results revealed that there was a strong linear relationship between DP and 9 causes from 14 causes that significantly affect DP of projects. These causes are: difficulties in obtaining work permits from authorities concerned, original contract duration too short, inflation, difficulties in financing the project by the contractor, effect of subsurface conditions, changes in the scope of the project, economic conditions, excessive bureaucracy in the owner administration, and inefficient coordination by the owner in the early planning &design stages. The second set contains 8 projects for the validation purposes and comparison with the second model. The second model is a statistical fuzzy approach which is a hybrid approach from fuzzy logic and regression analysis. A regression equation between each cause and DP using projects of first set was extracted. The relative weight of each cause is determined by its coefficient of determination (R2 ) value. The degree of severity each cause had received from questionnaire analysis was used to fuzzify this cause. A trapezoidal membership function was used to represent the delay percentages in construction projects in general depending on 18 out of 30 the previous 20 projects. Two projects were excluded from this function due to their divergence values from other projects. Thus, the expected delay percentage of a project is then determined using fuzzy rules. Validation of the two models using projects of the second set revealed that regression model has prediction capabilities higher than that of statistical fuzzy model. The average percentage error for regression model was 30.3, against 38.5 for statistical fuzzy model.

In this paper, we have calculated the molar heat capacity for cubic zinc blende (cZB) BN and GaN binary semiconductors at high pressure-temperature (PT). For the calculation of heat capacity, we firstly obtained the Debye temperature (ϴD) variation with temperature and at higher temperature it becomes constant with temperature in quasi-harmonic approximation limits. We have also calculated the static Debye temperature (ϴD) from elastic constant for the both BN and GaN binary semiconductors. The elastic constants are calculated from the energy-strain relation using plane wave method in DFT approach. All the calculated results are well consistence with experimental and reported data
