This document analyzes the lighting design for two spaces in a proposed community library project: a multipurpose area and staff office. For the multipurpose area located on the second floor, daylighting analysis found it would receive 664 lux of natural light, above the required 500 lux. Artificial lighting of 26 track lights was also designed. For the enclosed staff office on the fourth floor receiving minimal daylight, a 3x3 grid of 7 flush mount ceiling lights was designed to provide the required 300 lux of illumination. Diagrams show the lighting layouts and expected light levels for both spaces during day and night periods.
This document discusses the structural system and facade design for a proposed 5-story community library building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It includes the following key points:
1. The building features a light steel frame structural system with composite flooring and exposed steel framing for the roof. This maximizes interior space.
2. Two facade schemes are proposed using either vertical shading louvers or perforated shading panels. Elevation drawings are provided for each scheme.
3. Sections show the reception gallery on the ground floor and computer lab on an upper floor. The document also provides details on the light steel infill wall system to be used, including components, construction process, advantages and
The document provides information on a case study conducted on the acoustic design of Damansara Performing Arts Centre's theatre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It includes floor plans, sections, and elevations of the theatre space. The literature review covers basic acoustic concepts such as sound waves, reflection, absorption, diffusion, and reverberation time. Site visits were conducted and acoustic measurements were taken to analyze the existing sound conditions. The data collected will be used to evaluate the acoustic qualities of the space and provide recommendations to improve areas such as sound reflection, absorption, diffusion, and reverberation time.

This document provides a comparative analysis of public spaces between buildings in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It analyzes the urban morphology, historical development, and patterns of social activities in specific areas of each city. In Ho Chi Minh City, social activities commonly occur along streets with vendors and at road junctions. In Kuala Lumpur, socializing typically takes place in building plazas and along streets with stalls. Both cities demonstrate that necessary and optional activities in public spaces can foster social interactions, as predicted by urban theorist Jan Gehl.
The document summarizes three reaction papers by a student on architectural theory texts.
