Augmented reality (AR) overlays digital information on the real world. ARCore and ARKit are platforms for building AR apps on Android and iOS respectively. ARCore uses motion tracking and environmental understanding to allow virtual objects to interact with the real world. It was developed by Google as the successor to Tango. ARKit uses visual-inertial odometry and plane detection for positioning virtual objects. While ARKit has better tracking, ARCore enables more reliable tracking recovery and environmental mapping. Both aim to make AR development easier by handling complex computer vision tasks.

In this presentation from CA World 2017 you will learn how Asurion manages their large and growing portfolio of APIs that support clients, partners and millions of customers. The overhead of managing and communicating these APIs to various groups has become cumbersome and slow as the number of APIs has increased. Prompt engineering is a technique in artificial intelligence to get AI models like ChatGPT to respond correctly to our needs. The 5W1H framework can be used to get good results from ChatGPT by structuring prompts around what, who, why, where, which, and how. Prompts should provide context on what is expected from the AI, who the context is for, why the generated content is needed, where it will be used, which additional information is required, and how the output should be formatted. Well-structured prompts using this framework can elicit high-quality responses from ChatGPT.

Digital Twins are gaining momentum when designing smart solutions in different application domains. However, there is a lack of open standards that warrant interoperability and portability of solutions, avoiding vendor lock-in.
During the presentation, we will review major developments in this area, focused on the adoption of a standard API for accessing Digital Twin Data and Smart Data Models. We will review how a Digital Twin approach enables data integration at different levels: architecting vertical smart solutions, within smart organizations and across organizations. At all levels interfacing with IoT, BigData, AI/ML, Blockchain, or Robotics technologies.

Voices of VR podcast host Kent Bye has been asking thousands of virtual reality creators "What is the ultimate potential of VR?" for over 8 years now, and he will be sharing some of the best answers that map out the future of spatial computing, immersive storytelling, and experiential design. He will also share how VR is catalyzing an interdisciplinary fusion of design processes from video games, filmmaking, HCI, social media, theatre, architecture, and new modes of multi-sensory design. VR also presents unique tech ethics challenges around privacy, accessibility, conduct moderation, etc., that will potentially require new laws or tech architectures. This session will set a broad context for some of the promises and perils of this new medium while also providing a glimmer for what's to come.
The metaverse refers to shared virtual spaces where users interact through avatars. It builds on concepts from science fiction and seeks to make online interactions more lifelike through technologies like virtual and augmented reality. While still in early stages, many tech companies and investors see the metaverse as the future of the internet and are working to develop the required technologies and digital spaces.

1) Flexibility is important when modeling location as positioning technology requirements can vary and context is often more important than precise coordinates.
2) Examples of mobile games that used different location precision show flexibility is important.
3) An abstract location model is proposed that decouples location from sensors/technology and allows meaning and content to be associated with locations.
